My Left ear enjoyed this video.
Apologies! We had some audio issues!
Still an informative video, thank you for the upload Dale and team
All I hear is music... I'll wait for the correction. Great vids otherwise
Hahha yep just thought wow this video is bad no talking lol. 😁 Right ear only lol.
Lmao
You guys not only gave me the courage to tackle my cars tired looking appearance, but your fun to watch.
Excellent video keep these coming one of the best learning videos out there I've seen well done lads
I'm so glad that I found your 'how to' videos!! Thank you so much! I was always too reluctant to detail my our vehicles. But I've followed your advice and videos to the letter and have learnt so much. Our cars all have a long lasting showroom finish now that lasts and follow up washing and detailing is a pleasure. Thank you!
Thanks for doing these videos!!! So helpful and I'm becoming a Meguiar's fan more and more. Great products and right price!
Probably the best machine tuition video I’ve seen breaks it rite down for ppl
Enjoying the series, keep it simple.
Can you fix your mono audio input, microphone or mastering please.. My right ear is lonely
Lol they forgot to split the channels in Audacity. Common amateur misstake... Lolz ;)
@@tredfxman lets not forget the focus on this..my eyes hurt
Simple fix, take the headset off of your right ear. I've been doing this for a year now and there are tons of videos on youtube like this.
@@Suspicious0ne Holy shit, I actually played the video using the speakers in my laptop and the audio was just coming from one side hahaha! Guess I'll be putting in my right earbud
GOOBLE.XCVII can you hear it? Cmon god
Hi greetings from Colombia. I met A lot of meguiars products and i am so satisfied. It's an excellent quality. And your videos are awesome. Thanks for teach and share knowledge.
The perfect video ive been looking for on how to machine polish!!
I’m well into my detailing but you never stop learning! Great channel love the content! Keep up the good work 👌👌🙏😎
Always learning something new about polishing, thank u for all guys🤙🏼
Hi Patrick & Dale, we watch all your new videos, there awsome!!! we have a detailing outlet in Scotland and showcase Meguiar's Products in our store, customers love your products and so do we. Keep up the great videos guys! Nicky & Simon from Scotland
Great video guys I will deffo be purchasing my own DA MT320 of course. You two crack me up 😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍
Good video always learning something new with every video👍🏽
Great videos guys. The simple and clear instructions are great. I know it's not normally part of the Meguiars arsenal, but can you guys do a video on how to use a Rotary buffer? You have obviously covered the DA polisher, but some details on how to use a rotary buffer would be great!
Great video guys, thanks!
Meguiar’s products for life👊🏾
I've just bought this thanks for the tips lads
Have to say lads, your Ultimate Compound and Polish are incredible products. I had a horrendously oxidised bonnet on a car I bought and I was getting told from everyone that it was beyond repair and needed a respray. Two passes with Ultimate Compound and one pass with Ultimate Polish on a DA and it was like brand new.
AWESOME!
Awesome video, that DA polisher works a treat, you can tell the difference how it was.top work.
I am so excited, I just ordered my Clay Bar Kit, Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish and Gold Class Carnauba Plus Premium Liquid Wax for my black mk7 Golf GTI to prep it for a show and I have been watching this Detailing 101 series for hours :')...I can't wait to see the results!
Great video first time ive seen anyone prep all over pad better than the over videos ive watched.
great video. thanks guys!
My 30 year old fire truck sat outside in the sun and snow for 3 years, a quick pass with ultimate compound and it shines like new and is ready for parades. Great product.
Great tutorial thanks chaps 😎👍🏻
Thank you guys
Thanks guys after watching your video it gave me the confidence to finally attempt a full detail on my car. Your tutorials are brilliant.
Keep up the good work!!
How did it go? Did you use a buffer or by hand? 👍🏽
@@Ej-en2lz I used a Buffer! It came out really good! Was impressed by the outcome amazing what you can learn on CZcams!!
@@Ej-en2lz done it all with the machine, low speed on the corners. Just take your time, side panels are difficult todo, machine just wants to fly away. Good luck mate!👍🏽👍🏽
I love you’re videos theyre very teachable for us as beginners thanks alot for really good advices and keep it up bro and I have a question I have 3M vinyl in front of my car is compuinding polishing and ceramic coaring will destroy or make it peel off
🔥 content boys keep it up !!
Great video
Learnt a lot thank you
Using this on my nighthawk black CTR, really does bring out the colour of the paint. You can see the glistening purple/midnight blue flakes without looking closely, just passing by you can see the colours popping out. Amazing stuff.
Fudge how is it for the swirl marks? I have the same car and I’m checking out videos before I attempt it! Looking forward to seeing the blue flakes, the owner before me definitely used automated car washes.
That was magical 🧙♀️ 🏆
This stuff is legit. Especially for how inexpensive it is. I used the ultimate compound on my black 4runner which honestly looked pretty weathered and hazy and it came out absolutely shining. Seriously, my dad is a car guy and has polished a few cars in his day and he was blown away at the difference, it looked like a different vehicle.
this is a great video thanks
brilliant product a life saver
Great videos guys. Just spent the last HR watching all stages and got some new things to try. Bought my first bottles of compound and polish today.... Seriously considering a DA now... Top work!
I just detailed my black 88 Mazda RX 7 today, and what an awesome difference
Love your work guys! Been detailing as a hobbyist for about 15 years now using Megs from the very beginning. I, as most people began at the local shops just looking over products and seeing that Meguiar’s name, I knew I was getting a great product at a fair price. Watching you from the state of Illinois in the USA, this is quality content, thanks guys!!
Quality video lads 👌👌👌
great video guys, quick question how does one decide on the Ultimate compound vs the DA Microfiber Correction Compound vs the Mirror Glaze Swirl Remover 2.0? is one product harsher than the other?
I have a practically new car. When I was in the garage I noticed the scratches in my clearcoat and that is what brought me here. I wish I had the time to do all this step by step process to clean up my car.
You can get fantastic results just by using Ultimate Compound by hand followed by Ultimate Wax!
Any tips for caring for paint after a new paint job? In terms of maintaining a fresh new paint job, what products to use and when to compound polish etc.
thanks for your videos you guys are awesome
Want to know as well
Hi guys, love your videos. Do you use 5 inch or 6 inch backing plates and pads?
finally meguiars updated their vids other ones were like 10 years old!
Great job guys. So tell me how did you get that super gloss
Love the vids guys..👍🏻.1 thing i notice is dale never mentions too clean the pad after each pass...clean pad =clean work
What polishing pads should I use and where can I buy them? I’m from Canada, thank you.
That beat it nice!
I have heard so many different answers to this question. How many pads do you have to use for each stage? Would you give some guidance on this? Can you do it with just one? Or do you need multiple for a whole car? Thanks!
A question, for how much time it’s gonna last long without the swirl marks appearing back on again? And how often do you change pad?
Hey Dale, what if only a panel or two only need doing? Do we just move to next step ? Is that ok to not do the whole car?
That part where you set the speed to 2 to spread the compound and switching it later on to higher speed to get the job done, can you use it or is it applicable on wax?
Can you use the compound on small areas like around the door handles or on the roof, on scratches with a pad?
or do you have to do the hole car, once you use it?
If you can't position the machine flat on the panel due to obstacles (for example the area between the door hand and the window, or areas on the bumper), does that mean you should avoid using the machine entirely and apply manually by hand? Or is it ok to use the tip of the pad to get to hard-to-reach areas?
Never used a machine before and I'm a bit nervous to ruin the surface.
I thought I was gonna go deaf in my right ear at some points 😂 but now I’m ready to start my pickup 🛻
Hey guys Quick question I bought packet of applicator. I have two kinds I have terry and microfiber pads . Which one should I used for ultimate meguiars compound ?
Hi..I had a d/a for Christmas and brought the ultimate compound and the clay bar ready to do my car..only thing I struggle with is a place to do it..didn't really want to do it outside, and be half way through lol..I'll soon find somewhere...keep up the videos..they are ace
Mondeo ice white paint
You could always do the car in sections. Maybe the Hood, roof, and deck lid first. Then the drivers side, then the passenger side. Finish up with the front and rear bumpers. Breaking it up into sections will be your best bet if you don't have a good place to work.
After the compound, what pad do you use with the polish for that gloss
CHRISTMAS is coming up and my shopping lists is going to be fat!! with just detailing stuff, love the videos just wondering is it the same process on the bumpers, when polishing?
Absolutely!
Will this get out bad hologram’s buffer trails left by the body shop it looks awful in the direct sunlight.👍
Can you show how to use the ultimate compound swirling out by hand
why dont u make a video comparing m205 and the regular meguiers compound whats the difference? when to use one over the other?
How much of a difference in results would i get doing the compound, polish, and wax by hand instead of the machine? Would it remove swirls just as easy by hand without the machine and different pads?
Can I use the one cutting pad on the whole car? as I head some people using 3 pads just for cutting on a car that is only years old and regularly washed.
I followed this using your ultimate compound and I didn’t notice much difference it was my first time using a machine should I use a harder pad ? I went safe and used a soft (not the softest ) any ideas please
Hi i need your advise. I got some oil based paint bumpy spots on my car. Probably it's a road paint. Do you think clay will work on that ?? I have already tried nail polish thinner and autoglym tar remover but it's not working
I don’t have a dual action polisher but just a normal polisher that I bought. And there is so many colours of pad that it came with
My question is
1) which colour pad should I use for the compound, polish & wax?
2) Why r u keep on repeating that u don’t need to be worried when using machine with compound?
I have never b4 done this and want to make my car glossy and remove the marks, but I want to do it myself with Meguiar products and not from shop.
So if u can give tips it would really be helpful and also what other product can u recommend to give my black car a strong mirror shine.
I noticed that you used the compound on the roof of your car. It looks like you have a moon roof, which is glass. Did you go over it like you did the metal surfaces? Does it work on that glass as well or does it make any difference one way or another?
I always use Ultimate Compound and its great.. recently I used it on a black car, the scratches have gone but I am now left with burring marks (only visible under direct sunlight) any idea where I have gone wrong?
Hi, after de car is all compounded, what can pass also. Wax, to finish?
How can i order the different pads for 3 different products? And what are their grips?
Not a bad beginner video, however you should mention that either you must clean the pads after 2-3 panels or use multiple pads as they will get clogged up.
I thought my earphones were broken 😂💔a very informative video thou 🖒
Good video, great series! It looks easy working on the big panels, but what about the small areas with more bents and curves? It is nice to have beginners guide, but they are the ones who can get easily in trouble when they do not have an idea how to tackle the curves and the edges where the paint is thinner. Try to show the complete process from start to finish. If you are a prof detailer, you would have an expensive 1 inch air polisher, but that's not the case with home detailers. How to tackle the small areas (under the door handles for example) should be the next video I guess? Keep up the good work. Aaand glass polishing video, I am working on my e36 glass headlights in the near future, sooo show me your wisdoom 😁
Got any discount codes for the website? 😊 thinking of getting your machine polisher.
I bought a draper da from eBay for £60 and it's a great machine. It has a 5 metre cable, spare brushes for the motor, 5" velcro backing plate and a carry bag. I did buy meguiars microfibre cutting and polishing pads with the ultimate compound.
What is the name of the artist for the music in this video? The beat is real nice.
Any videos on how to remove deep scratches?
Is that all you need to do? What about polishing and waxing? Do you need to do those as well? Or compounding is all you need?
Great vid....The concern I have is that yes it removes swirls and scratches well but leaves behind that haze. Polish will shine it right up but when the polish wears down it seems as though the haze will still be there?
If there is any hazing the Ultimate Polish will remove that haze. If you then use a wax to protect the hard work and you've done then you should be good to go.
I tried ultimate compound. It certainly removed the dullness hazeing & lite oxidation & bought up a brilliant shine no question but it didnt remove the scratches
Hi, noticed you used the brown pad for the polishing stage? Is there any reason for using the more aggressive pad when a polish doesn’t have any cutting capability’s ?
So we used the burgundy cutting disc in order to remove the swirls and scratches. Polishing video is this Wednesday!
Which sealent and wax combo you prefer for a black honda civic in Maguires line
I would go with M26 or if your paint needs some polish to it... use the D166 as a cleaner wax!
no trim masking? is ultimate compound easy to remove from plastics?
Hi how loft after I compound can I polish then wax?
Hi, love this video series, even if it's a few years old. Thank you! Is it me or does anyone else hear some really bad background music?
Where can I get that magic blue tape from ?
Can you just use a normal hand Applicator Pad rather then the machine? because the machine itself cost a lot of money. and how often would you use the compound?
Will this compound work on ppf
I’ve got a bumper thats been touched up with spray paint recently but it feels kinda grainy like fine sand paper. I clayed the area but felt that it was still slightly rough. Would compounding the area by hand smoothen the paint?
I would keep going with the clay. It sounds like overspray so with a couple of goes over the area it should eventually start to smooth out.
My question would be with regards my father's 1989 Mercedes 300se. It is in a metallic smoke silver and I was just wondering if the compound would remove any protective layer that is currently on top of that paint? In other words was it two stage paint back then?
I think what I meant was does it have clear coat on top
If there was colour transfer on the pad then it would mean the car doesn't have a clear coat. This isn't an issue however as the Ultimate Compound revives faded or dull paint. see our Day In The Bay with the MK1 Golf. czcams.com/video/I3B4bMYRLgU/video.html
Can I use the waterless wash and wax before compounding, as I do not have access an external water outlet?
If the car is not heavily covered in dirt/mud then yes. However it wont replace your general bucket and shampoo and wash mitt.
Hi! If my car is almost brand new (6 months, 6000km), should I use Ultimate Compound or Ultimate Polish just to remove light swirls before ceramic coating? Thank you
Polish
Hi Meguiars,i have this a try for the very first time on my car bonnet,I used the auto finesse DA polisher and there orange pad,I cleaned and dried the car and clayed the bonnet, put a tap down the middle as you did and done a small ish part but i didn’t really see much empowerment tbh,is it because of the bad or because i might not of done as many passes,I only done about 2/3 passes as was a little scared of going through my paint even tho people say my paint will be fine, please could you tell me the best pad to use with your ultimate compound, plus iv also got your 3 in 1 witch is also for swerl marks but i believe the ultimate compound is the more stronger one for swerls, please correct me if I’m wrong and again please help me on the pads i should be using, colour point is black magic purl on a golf gti mk5 and a tornado ref (golf gti mk5) but it’s the black one that needs it a little more, the tornado red has swerls but only light ones, not sure if that information was needed but thought I’d give you it incase it helps me...thank you and hope to here soon 🙏🏻
Ultimate Compound is the best product for defect removal and paint restoration. 3-in-1 is a one hit wax that has some defect removal properties along with the polish & wax attributes but is not as effective as Ultimate Compound if you are just looking at defect removal. The important variables to consider when using with a dual action polisher are 1) the speed of the machine, to give you context if you were to use the Meguiar's MT320 we would suggest a speed of 4800-5800 OPM's. 2) Hand speed. With ultimate compound you need to move maybe an inch per second to give the pad and the compound time to work the surface. 3) Quantity of product, make sure the pad is suitably covered with the product. 4) number of passes. With Defect removal multiple passes are sometimes necessary especially with harder paints/deeper defects. 5) The pad. Our best pad for use with the Ultimate Compound is the DFC5 (5") or DFC6 (6").
If you are using the compound by hand do you do circle or hashtag motion?
When using Ultimate Compound by hand you can use the "hashtag" effect a bit more liberally. It doesn't really matter as long as the product is being worked in
Can I apply Hybrid Ceramic Wax after doing this? Do I have to wait or I can do it right after?
The Hybrid wax is best used after washing the car. The wax is activated by the water.
So you use the ultimate compound to cut the paint which causes a haze, what product would you use after yo refine the hazey paint? great video!
Im guessing they are going to use ultimate polish, but its being saved for another video i believe.
I used ultimate compound, followed by ultimate polish and finished with ultimate liquid wax using their DA. The results were truly stunning, not just saying that, car looks amazing for it.
Good video, however in your 'Top 10 don'ts with DA polishing' video it says Don't start and stop the machine whilst on the paintwork, but the guy in this video does exactly that.
After using clay bar for the car, do I need to wash the car before compounding by hand, or can I jump straight into this stage?
Quick clean of the car with isopropyl alcohol and a microfiber towel
How do you clean the pads between sections or do you change pads after each panel?
For pad maintenance you can use a vacuum to hover off any dried product. As well as this all our cloths and pads are machine washable
