I always pull the cylinder head and Mount it in a press press it out best way. Then I right the bill up large for my time

Back when the first autos were sold to the public, they came with a few tools and you could repair most anything along the roadside…, now you need specialized diagnostics, shop application tool systems, certified technicians…and parts that require financing…all to do the same basic thing…get you from a to b!

The engine is “floating “on the engine stand, absorbing the impact from the tool. Put it on the ground and one pull; and it is off !

Buy the automatic pneumatic one
Please find them online. They do the work automatic and have already been engineered. Don’t stay monkey business from the caves costing to the customers as well. Invest and help and also don’t destroy yourselves trying.. there is always a tool to think with electro mechanics pneumatics and hydraulics
Sometimes, those tools only work on certain applications. A few service manuals actually recommend a slide hammer for this job. Most of the factory manuals have a "special" tool from the factory that they say to use. But if a pneumatic one will fit, by all means, please stop with this monkey business. 😊 Take care internet strangers.

I’ve had to do the same thing to multiple Duetz 2011 series diesels. I usually stick with PB blaster than a slide hammer.
Nothing like making a job harder than it has to be. It’s on an engine mount for crying out loud. Turn the block so you can get a better angle, work from the ground and get a proper grip on the slide.

Which means there is something severely wrong, or they have zero clue what they are doing.
Rust. If it's from the car behind them it's probably been sitting a while, likely without a hood.

I have a heavy duty pilling tool. Two thick steel rails sin on adjustable legs sits over the offending injector. The puller is a screw jack much like a flywheel puller. It just cranks the injectors out.
Actual air pneumatic reverse hammer is used to remove frozen injectors.
It's direct-injected and the injector is now an interference fit Ford Triton 5.4 l had a similar problem changing spark plugs we're upon removal half of the plug with stay behind. You should see the intake manifold on some of these vehicles with direct injection the caked buildup on some of the Volkswagens will actually close off the hole to where it misfires I'm not talking about injector hole I'm talking. entire intake port intake injection or port fuel injection had the luxury of gas Flushing Everything clean but now any oil pass the valve stems just bakes and within 60,000 MI you find out how much it cost to do a carbon cleaning which takes about 3 hours to really do it right and that's not including R&R that's just once the intakes off
I have a '98 Nissan Altima w/ a 2.4L engine. The injectors are very easy to replace, but never drop the injector cover down into the engine bay. There's a black hole that comes with the car.
They just don't make mechanics like they used to.😊

Because the manufacturers have this problem in ass hole. This doesn't happend during warranty. After that, autorized workshop suggest to replecament of cylinder head + new iniectors.
Because the engineers that manufacturers employ never had to remove a fuel injector.

They apparently haven’t heard of C4. About 5 kgs should remove all injectors at once.
Take the bolts off and crank it up the compretion will push the injector out easy.

If u spray the base of the injector while the motor is hot ,shut it of spry them let the oil puddle around them then remove everything else you need to buy that time the oil has helped seep in ,,,,and change the copper washers use new ones when going back together😊

If thats a BMW engine it's the first one where plastic was not used for a part.
Warranty time for Injector removal pays 0.2hr per stuck injector. "Because that's what we calculate the time required for the repair" 😅
Heat the area with a heat gun, then use 50/50 transmission oil and diesel mix.. pour it around the injector and let it soak in..
Oh the old injectors had 2 half inch nuts on either side of the injectors so easy to remove it they got stuck usually a tyre lever would get them out but in most of these engines a new cylinder head

Came here to find out exactly that. Can't imagine that's how the true professionals do it. Seems like you could break off the injector in it's hole, like a spark plug.
That is very true, but that block is also on a mount and can be rotated so they’re working much more efficiently with the slide hammer.
How many pulls did it take for this injector to break free?!!?????

You guys missed what he's doing. He's trying to pull the head bolts without unscrewing it. It's an easy mistake cause there's so many little things there!😅
And this is the reason why you need to have your injector seals replaced as soon as you hear the injectors 'Chuffing' otherwise you will be giving your mechanic a headache and he will charge you more

I don't think I've ever had to apply that much pressure. It's not a wheel bearing for crying out loud.
I got rid of my Mercedes SUV when it was revealed to me that the dealers won't quote on an injector replacement because it's not unusual to rip a piece of the head out with the injector.... and Mercedes have a tool which eliminates the need for a slide hammer.
I'm nit sure what they're banging on! I have done more injectors than I could ever account for, including mostly big commercial equipment. I'm just watching this thinking, somebody stop them! I don't care if the injector hold down was still in place, this slide action would've popped the retainer or bolt, or both

Get a open center hydraulic cylinder 30 ton. Weld a threaded rod and it will gently remove the injector with no effort at all. 😊
I got an air impact driver. That I made up for that. Just another great engineering idea.

All the amazing engineering we have now adays well i should say lack of engineering that you have to do this to remove a injector or make a tool that makes it easier to remover or make the injector easier to remove

Got to remove the hold down clamp first
Need to stabilize the motor #1 and put some heat around it and it will pop right ought of there. Some people love to do things the hardest way possible😅
Getting a workout with that slide hammer. Needs more weight. He's having to use his own strength where a heavier hammer would do the work. He should also rotate the engine angle on the stand to let him use gravity to help him.

I've worked most of my life on tractor diesel engines, and I've never seen or heard of anything like that -
I don't get it. You could feed it fuel off a can and it will pop out by itself.
That's why they invented the hydraulic injector puller
