    Love your Tesla videos and will be interested in your reasons for moving to Mexico and your experiences. Starting in 2020 when I bought my Model 3 - your video tutorials helped guide me while I learned to drive my Tesla. You helped me keep up with all the latest updates, appreciate my car, and drive it to its full potential. I appreciate the way this car saves me money, but most of all I love how fun it is to drive. The technology and the continual updates are fantastic. I have driven all over the country: Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin. Iowa. Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. The Tesla Superchargers are great and have never failed me. Some friends bought the Audi EV but were hesitant to drive it on trips due to the lack of quality charging stations. It became an expensive town car. I am also sad to see all of the uninformed and unfounded criticism of Teslas. It’s obvious critics have never driven one. We now own 2 Teslas - a Model 3 and a Model S. And … Yes… we have invested in Tesla stock!

    Great video Peter spot on with your observations, I am a share holder and can't wait for the day they release fsd version 12 along with the model 2. When the day arrives that Tesla gets approval for fsd, it follows that all the old Oems will be putting this in their vehicles. Only one way Tesla is heading to the 🌙. Best wishes for your move to Mexico

      Thanks so much and yes, I totally agree with you. People get too depressed too quickly. With Tesla, you simply have to adopt a long term view. And I’m very confident that they have a great vision for their future path. Definitely hanging on to my shares :)

    I might add the insurance business that Tesla is building as the Tesla repair centers begin expanding. There is a needle to thread when it comes to a possible conflict of interest but there are benefits that many don't realize: the feedback of reparability, manufacturing quality, feedback from the repair center group, etc.

    It's not a portable charger, the charger is in the car. What you were talking about is the Mobile Connector. And what blue fabric mats are you talking about? The cars came with black carpet mats. Sorry, but you will never get $31,000 US dollars for a 2018 rear wheel drive Model 3 that has had two accidents. And yes, Tesla stock will most likely go up with the Cybertruck release but it will also most likely go down again later, as it always does. And this is disappointing because of how many products Tesla creates, you'd think Tesla stock would be like Mcdonald's stock and just keep going up and up. And while advertising is a good thing for Tesla, they really need a PR department and way more Service Centers!

    • @model3man
      @model3man  Před 9 měsíci

      Thanks for your contribution. Yes - it is a mobile connector not a charger. My terminology was wrong. Also, you're right about the mats. The blue one's I had which I thought had come from the Tesla actually came from an old Mazda :) So the oiginal Tesla mats were the black rubber mats. Good catch pointing that out.
      However, I'm not in agreement with yout statement that I'll never get the amount I'm asking. When you spec the same configuration in Canada on Tesla's website, you're looking at close to 83,000 Canadian. Then, given that you subtract +/- $7,000 (because the configuration for long range Tesla Model 3 is a dual motor and mine is single) that brings it down to $75,000. Now add in that any buyer of a new vehicle would pay around $6000 for the PPF that I have had done on the car and that puts the price back up to $81,000. And for all that, they are not getting the yoke steering wheel, not getting the power frunk kit etc etc. My point is that I am selling at less than half the amount a new buyer would pay to get the same configuration. So - you might believe I will not get that amount, but that is pure speculation and time will tell :)
      I do agree that Tesla stock does go up and down in weird and often unexpected ways. That is exactly the point I made in the opening minute of the video. BUT... if you look at the overall trajectory, and you take into account all 12 of the discussion points I made, you can definitely expect that a straight line through all the ups and downs will be UP as each of the items begin affecting public perception and institutional investor companies. You only have to look at how the stock has appreciated over the last 13 years. And Tesla is STILL the king of the EV space. And will remain so for a long time.
      But - that is also speculation and we will have to look back again in a few years to see how my video predictions pan out :)
      Thanks for contributing to the discussions in the Comments section

      @@model3man The Model 3 only came with black carpet mats, the rubber ones were an extra cost you could buy, at leas in the US. I forgot that you have some PPF on your car, so I hope you do get close to what you are asking for it, but again because it's the rear wheel drive and Tesla lowered the price of cars recently. A month ago I traded in my 2018 LR dual motor Model 3 with less than 26k miles for a new Model Y Performance. I should have gotten around $30k US for it but because it had on accident, which was repaired and the price drops I was screwed over on the trade in value. Yes, I know when trading in a vehicle you always get less and even more so when dealing with Tesla because you can't bargain with them. But I didn't have time to sell my car to a third party and other car buying places are hours from me. Plus, I needed to drive the car to get the new car and didn't have anyone available to help. I was running out of time to get the free FSD transfer, it was kind of a last minute decision. But I've let go of the loss and realize I had fun with the car for almost 5 years. The new Model Y Performance is so much better and suits me more, no more crouching down to get into my car. And HW4 is so much better, well except for the loss of the Ultra Sonic Sensors, which was a huge mistake by Tesla. Oh and I have over 1,000 shares of Tesla stock so I do hope at some point it skyrockets, but if it does go down again I will just buy more.

      @@Resist4 - Good points all! I will probably have to lower might expectations. Of course our Canadian market may be a little different as things are higher here - because we also have a 25% luxury tax on a car at the price of the long range model 3 - but I take all of your points.

    • @Resist4
      @Resist4 Před 9 měsíci

      @@model3man I agree the market for used vehicles varies based on location but you have to remember that a new rear wheel drive Model 3 is $38,990 US. In my State there is an additional $2k refund and of course the $7,500 US tax credit. I'm sure Canada has EV incentives as well. But this would make the price $29,490 US, for a car new Model 3 with a warranty. And it probably has a higher range than what yours initially had new and certainly what is has now. Here's another option, someone could lease a new RWD Model 3 for 2 years at only $250 a month US.

    • @model3man
      @model3man  Před 9 měsíci

      @@Resist4 - Apples to apples comparison:
      On the USA Tesla configuration page:
      LONG range version not $38,990 but $45,990 (granted it is a dual motor long range)
      Red colour like mine: add $2000
      Full Self Driving: $12,000
      Mobile Connector: $250
      That totals (before Federal rebate) $60,240
      Then, you STILL don’t have $5,000 worth of PPF, and you still have to pay the taxes on the car as well when it’s a new car. So the rebate you get more or less neutralizes taxes.
      What is true is this higher priced car IS new, does have the full warranty ahead of it, DOES have a slgihtly larger range than my car. In any event, I am probably dropping to $39,000 Canadian which equates to more or less $28,524 USD which still compares favourably to the new price of around $60,240 (if taxes and rebate more or less cancel each other out. Anyway, I will wait patiently and be prepared to lower the price if there is no interest at the current level

      @@model3man you ARE aware of the total elimination of the basic driver controls EVERYONE is expecting to see when you go to a showroom and a test drive. The S and X have had to be heavily discounted after ‘the treatment’ and roundabout Britain ceased being supplied a RHD version. Most times it’s a partner shared vehicle and I can’t see women accepting the need to relearn and overcome basic muscle memory.
      A journalist had the temerity to ask when Americans would actually see the highland version and he was pissed off for some reason.

      @@davidpearn5925 - OK, I now see your true colours. You somehow have it in your head that your children's impression of Elon's political and cultural viewpoints reflect reality. Which of course they do not! Now, if you think Elon is in any way right wing you are hopelessly off the mark. As he said many years ago, he stands in the middle of the political spectrum and it is not he who moved, but the lunatic left who shifted even further left with many even more radically unrealistic ideas.
      Elon is a sensible level headed VERY middle-of-the-road guy, and not at ALL what your kids might represent him to be. Elon is a free thinker - which of course offends many people today who don't believe in the right to speak your mind if those opinions don't reflect the accepted mainstream press narrative.
      It is ridiculous to claim that he is in any way a hater of non-straight people, or that he holds negative options about them. Show me ONE statement he has made that is anti-gay, anti-trans or anything similar.
      In any event, if you cannot see past a person's political or cultural viewpoints, and somehow think that those viewpoints taint the immensely incredible products he creates, that is your problem. I couldn't care less what a person believes, because he has the freedom both to believe AND to trumpet those beliefs in any way he sees fit. Your mistake, David, is in trying to make him out to be a bigot - which is what your children and their friends appear to be saying (according to the last sentence in your post).
      That I'm very much afraid is what is so very wrong with the left in today's political climate.
      When Elon made electric cars and was not controversial, the left loved him and the radical right hated him.
      Suddenly when he bought twitter, and took away the left's 'playground' the left hates him and conservatives love him.
      Sensible, level-headed people like most people in this forum, and regular Tesla owners, realise that his political or cultural stances mean NOTHING - provided he keeps innovating, making incredible products, pushing back barriers that have been unmovable before, and dreaming like a true visionary.
      So, let Elon be Elon. Try hard not to let your view of the entire Tesla company be tainted by your political dislike of his political stances, and life will be a lot easier than carrying around the burden of having to hate what people do simply because their viewpoints don't match yours.
