    I have model 3 performance and I love it. 136000 miles with no problems except the $123 battery that I replaced couple of years ago and my left camera on the fender. I totally agree with you.

      Congratulations Barb! We are a relatively small club - those who took ownership in the first two weeks of the LR Model 3 being available in Canada. I'm quite sure you're just as happy as I am and that motoring has forever changed for you just like it has for me :)

    100% agree, Peter (except for your seeming affection for the Y! 🤔 ). Here in Victoria, we bought our Model 3 in November 2018 and I still look forward to driving it every day, seriously!

      That’s a good plan because it will have a whole lot of new technology, including batteries, better motor, and possibly modified body styling just like the Highlander upgrade now being done on model 3. Oh, of course, the new Hardware 4 with additional cameras with higher resolution etc

    Will be 5 years tomorrow that we picked up our Model 3 LR Rwd FSD etc. and still have it parked next to our 2023 Model Y we got in Nov. 2022 so missed out on all the tax breaks and price drops that have happened since. Our grandson drives the Model 3 now after selling the 2012 Leaf he was driving and loves it just like we still do. I fully agree with all your comments on the car and the Tesla family experience. The fact that we purchased another Tesla speaks for itself. My wife wants to buy me a Cybertruck but I'm completely happy with the 2 Teslas we have. I didn't op for the FSD in the MY for $15k since we only spent $7K for it in the M3 and I'm happy with just AP/TACC for 99% of our use case with the ability to subscribe for a month if I get the urge to try out the latest improvements. Since we don't own a truck anymore, we opted for the tow package as the only option on the MY and I've yet to even look under the cover. Our M3 (should say my grandson's M3) has over 51k miles now and charged last night at home to 241 miles at 80%. That extrapolates to over 301 miles, which ain't bad for a car that started 5 years ago with 310. We fanboys keep growing in numbers...lol. Still love your videos!

      Hey Jeff. It is So refreshing to hear from another Tesla owner who is just enjoying the wonderful benefits of their car, instead of focusing on the perceived weaknesses - or myriad small gripes - that so frequently populate the comments sections of ALL Tesla CZcamsrs. I am thrilled that your experience has been and continues to be so positive. Yes, we could ALL find something negative to say about ... well, anything including our Tesla vehicles, but you and I and many others of the same mind believe that there is ALREADY enough FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt) being disseminated by the main stream media, that we should not be contributing to it in any way. Thanks so much for taking the time to elaborate on your experiences, your cars, and why Tesla has been such a positive intervention in your life.

    I have the same experience, except for FSD... in Europe, we don't have the same level that you enjoy in NA.
    My Model 3 LR will be 4 years next month, and after putting over 120'000 km on it, it still runs like new... well, better than new, in fact, thanks to the OTAs.

    • @model3man

      I can only imagine the frustration of people in Europe, Australia, and other regions more distant from North America, having to wait for full self driving to come. Sadly, it is always true that the North American region is the first to benefit from new technological advances in Tesla vehicles, but I can promise you from my own experience that it is worth waiting for. It’s still feels like magic or science fiction sitting in a car that drives itself at the high-level that Teslas are capable of doing. Anyway, thank you so much for posting your comment.

    Yes Peter, I completely agree! As I bought my Model 3 LR RWD here in Germany 4 years ago you were one of the youtubers who convinced me to do it. I never spent so much money for a car. And I must say this, I never regreted a single Eurocent. I love the car and I am also happy to be part of this great big family.

      What a heartwarming story. It still stuns me that a video that I produce in my home here in Vancouver can reach people across the world and help influence decisions they make. That’s very humbling. I’m very thrilled to hear that you have the same car and that you’ve had four happy and enjoyable years with it. I am excited for the third GEN of Tesla vehicles because they will be ones that most of the world will be able to afford. Of course I’ll have to get one and then change my name from model3man to whatever the new car is called :-) thank you for taking the time to send me your comments.

      Same here: one of the last ever built original Model 3 LR RWD has been with us for four glorious years also. The Goloho door seals (thanks for that video, @model3man!) reduced wind noise substantially, and the NVH Cowl Flaps that the first Model 3 refresh sports at the outer ends of the frunk lid, just in front of the windshield, we could retrofit without a problem, and almost completely eliminated all wind noise from the front! Yes, it is the most expensive car we ever bought, but also the most sensational and fun. It will stay with us till it falls apart😁

I did have a model 3 but traded it for a Y, both fantastic cars and I'm also unashamed to call myself a fan boy. I hope one day all the tesla and Elon haters will finally see the light on what a truly remarkable story Tesla's rise has been. Keep up the good work 👏

      Thanks Paul! I think that it’s already beginning to happen. Of course, there was an immediate political divide between the left and the right when he bought Twitter, but that is fading as he steps away from being CEO of Twitter and focusses even more on Tesla. It’s also interesting that those who oppose him politically are still excited to buy a Tesla - and that’s really what it’s all about. You’re buying an amazing product and it is changing the world. Thanks very much for taking the time to comment

      I’m not sure why notifications don’t always go out equally to everyone who has requested. However, I have not been uploading for a while due to demands of the remainder of my life. But I’m now moving into a period where I have the time - and of course I’m waiting for FSD 11.4 which promises to be a startling new upgrade And obviously will make many videos testing it in different locations, times of day, and types of weather.

BUT... if I were to have added more, these would include: Brilliant navigation from the Touchscreen; the all-glass roof that gives such a feeling of openness; Regen braking; the sound system.... the list goes ON. I agree with nearly everything you said except my 2018 (which I bought in early 2019) has lost 19% of its range (was 305 miles now 250) and I do not like FSD. Also I think Elon should stick to building EVs and rockets. That said, your channel is my favorite of all the Tesla ones out there. Frugal Tesla Guy is the next best.

    • @model3man
      @model3man  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for your comments, David. I do appreciate your support of the channel. I wonder whether you have done a large amount of supercharging and that may perhaps have dropped the range a bit more than expected? Or do you live where there are extremes of temperature? by the way, now that Elon has handed control of Twitter to a new CEO, his focus is right back where it belongs on Tesla, the company that we support, and I am very glad of that. However, Elon always manages to run several companies at a time so I wasn’t seriously concerned, but I am glad he’s moved back to a focus on Tesla. And the share prices reflect that.

    • @davetroyke
      @davetroyke Před rokem

      My Tesla app says 23% Supercharger in the last 12 months and we made five trips from our home in Spokane, WA to Portland, OR. Most years we make 3 so my best guess it has been about 15% of the 51,000 miles on the odometer. Since they have continued to add more Supercharger locations along our route it hasn’t been a problem for us but it will likely cost me when I sell or trade it in.

    Listening to some of the early remarks, I was just wondering: Does the lubricating oil in a Tesla ever need to be changed?

    • @model3man
      @model3man  Před rokem +2

      The Tesla user manual says that battery coolant does not need to be replaced for the life of your vehicle under most circumstances. They do suggest checking your brake fluid every two years. Also suggested is to change the cabin HEPA filters every three years. I didn’t see any mention of lubricating oil though.
