Came across a RC Prototype at a Supercharger a few weeks ago. It's hard to process what you're seeing. I see the CT as the ultimate road trip vehicle. Safe, outlets, tons of secure storage, can go anywhere.

I want this vehicle but dang it Elon, my Tri-Motor was supposed to cost $70,000 and have a range of over 500 miles. Now it costs almost $100,00 with a range of only 320 miles. You sent me an email to get the Founders Edition but that's over $120,000. I'll keep my reservation for now but this thing it just too expensive, no matter how badly I want one. I think it looks best in the matte black or matte green PPF wrap. I do have one concern and it's with the front bumper camera. It needs a lens cover that is replaceable because it will get nicked from road debris, worse than windshields get. And I hope at some point Tesla makes the rear window able to open. But what will determine if this is actually a winner is reliability, repair costs and insurance costs. One more thing, real truck people say this isn't a truck because it can't tow a 5th wheel trailer. Well, I've had 3 pickup trucks in my life and I never once towed anything let alone a 5th wheel. Most people with pickup trucks like to have something that is 4 wheel drive and can carry larger items in the bed, like when moving.

And the DMV fees will be huge. Plus the range is a joke and not what Elon popped off about 4 years ago and the only reason why so many put in their reservations. He lied and then jacked the prices up $30k.

$70k in 2019 compared to todays $ and considering huge cost increases, runaway inflation plus the CT you get now is way more advanced than the 2019 was ie steer by wire, 48/800v, suspension, improved giga casting…..Also with range comes weight plus there are far more charging options now compared to 2019. id say they it’s on par.
Look into the Cybertruck technology, as you may appreciate why it’s designed that way. PT Cruiser and Aztec were designed to get attention, with no substance behind it.

Tesla surviving based on NA sales is my take on stalkless Teslas…….now that the fully loaded BYD Seal is available for less than the base Model 3 in Oceania. BYD has an instant entire range of quality vehicles that most Tesla fans know about let alone understand. The Chinese have a domestic choice that they don’t have to apologise for and which is impressing Europeans also…….with a German engineering influence.
BYD is still losing money on their full electric cars (only their hybrids are actually profitable). But regardless I expect BYD to do well . . . and with Tesla steal market share away from the traditional auto manufacturers. BYD and Tesla aren't really competing with each other, not yet anyway. There is plenty of room for both as the world transitions away from ICE

BYD isn't competitive outside the Chinese market without extreme government subsidy, which they're actually getting more tariffs placed on chinese EVs entering the EU market for example due to product dumping, which is its biggest market outside its own. Regardless of your opinion of the build quality their business structure is not set up for long term.
It’s not doing anything better than any other EV truck it doesn’t go any further or charges any faster or have the largest battery pack you can not pull a fifth wheel trailer or a gooseneck and can’t easily put stuff from the side and it doesn’t have a easy tailgate entry like the ford F150 lightning the interior is so plain and the price is way over what was promised also the range is also way less than what was promised so yes it does look different for better or for worse I used to hate it but now I’m getting used to seeing it but as a truck it not better than any other trucks.

But even if it would be registered and i would be allowed to drive it, it's way to big ! It doesn't fit any parking space nor garage. It would even get stuck in our normal sized car parks, so where the hell would I leave it ? 3000 kilograms heavy electric cars just for the fun of it, also seem to defeat the goal to be an answer to our worldwide environment problem! I DESPISE those videos and ALWAYS block those channel from being suggested to me the minute they appear in my "For You" feed. You see, despite the fact that I am old (69) and may not be a good looking stud on camera, I AM a human being, and want to relate to other human beings by speaking with them. I actually WANT them to know what I look like, read my expressions and hand gestures to get cues to my meaning, and as an ex-teacher, I always like to relate to those I am sharing information with by looking into the camera, and allowing them to receive both audio, visual, and hand gesture cues while I am speaking Of course, if that gets me fewer views, then so be it. Ironically today, I got 5 times more than normal - but I attribute that to the CZcams algorithm and the fact that the Cybertruck is currently a hot topic.

It has the fastest charging speed of pretty much any EV and, as the charger infrastructure grows, range is less and less of an issue.
You can bet the range will get better and the price will fall as they ramp to a certain number.

Same here. I am not a truck person and will never own a truck or SUV but I would totally have a Cybertruck.
