I never tire of hearing these remarkable stories.
Rhodesian War Stories are the best.
This is my favourite war hero of the war .. Andre speaks from his heart and his experiences . He has compassion but understands he had a job to do and complete to the best of his abilities, but had no fear in the face of combat and chaos ! Much respect to you Andre for what you did and what you are doing now ! God bless .. salute ! 🙏🏻
Tatenda Hannes and Boss John
He's my favourite of all the interviews. Really was in the thick of it.
Thank you John, for putting your life relentlessly on the line for us all. you're a legend umfowethu!
Absolutely Unbelievable... So Very Humble and So Very Very Much A Rhodesian Soldier....!!! What So many of us will never ever appreciate or know.....!! Utter Respect.....
What l love about Andre recounting his stories is just how casually he describes acts of sheer terror & bravery. It's as if he reading the ingredients for some recipe! 😮😮. Nothing seemed to faze these amazing warriors. John Gartner, Andre, Daryll, Pete Simmons et al so blasé about recounting absolutely heroic acts like it was everyday life. I think if many of our soldiers & airmen (& l include TF troopies here) had been in US or UK units the medal toll would have been astronomical. Half the guys would need a handcart to carry them around in. Just listen to Beaver Shaw's 3 talks & then realise that this hero only got a GSM (General Service Medal)!
Totally amazing and thanks
A very brave and humble man.
So good to listen to André again. His humble and intriguing storytelling is what got me hooked to this channel. Keep up the great work!
Thanks, will do!
My Vok, what a man, what a Legend, now thats worthy of a Silver Cross for putting the life of his buddy first ahead of hitting the camp. Lots of Respect Mnr. Thanks John and Hannes.
A great idea to condense some of the interviews!
I agree Tony but I believe none of your (work) interviews should be condensed or limited in any way if anything they should be expanded, in no way a disagreement, just my thoughts. Thanks
What a small world!!

Amazing interview much respect
THE BRAVE MEN OF SOUTHERN AFRICA FOR BELIEF AND HOPE FOR THE FUTURE UNFORTUNATELY FOR NOTHING
Holy Spirit Gentlemen!
I have always heard British soldiers say how good fighters the Rhodesian forces were.but this communication base assault snds just scary.
Do current British soldiers talk about the Rhodesian forces? Am curious about how the Rhodesian experience has stuck around in institutional memory, was amused to find out that the US Marines still train on Op Dingo.
Of course they'd say that. The best war they had was the Falklands in 81. Prior to that was the attack on Egypt and we know how that turned out. Rhodesians were so deadly that ZANU won and is still in power till today
@@terranexile3681 i left in 08 but we had some south african lads .an its military legend about the outrageous numerical advantage the bkack commies had and the kill/casualtys ratio is unmatched in history
Very interesting but it is bit hard to understand.
What books are recommended about the Rhodesian War ?
@@TimSerrasOk. Name your list of the better ones then.
And be realistic. I'm not really that keen for a laugh.
Hannes Wessels wrote three excellent books!
@@TimSerras Image being in Vietnam and affording to fire 50 000 rounds per every VC/NVA kill.
Or worse in Iraq and Afghanistan where that total jumped to 250 000.
Imagine that luxury.
I bet if only the Rhodesians and South Africans were involved in that war it would have been a win.
@@TimSerras Actually the most successful counter insurgency unit if one uses body count only. Were the South African Police Force Security Branch's Ops K. Know as Koevoet.
It was General Sir Brian Horrocks who said that in his experienced opinion, the Rhodesian military was the finest counter insurgency force in the world. It's a well known quote that appeared in many newspapers
