- These "short" stories are fresh edits of older videos. The edit is tighter and shorter and will, hopefully, introduce new subscribers to the early interviews. There have been about 200 videos posted since we first did this one. I really enjoyed the process of re-creating and hope you will enjoy watching it. The hardest part is trying to delete content since it's all so interesting. Please let us know what you think of this series, and thank you for supporting the channel. There are still many thousands of Rhodesians out there who still need to come forward to tell their stories!

Isn't it remarkable that most of the countries that helped crush Rhodesia are gradually experiencing what they encouraged.
Gradually? They are actually in full decline soon to collapse (England, France, Germany, United States, Russia). Who can answer one critical question? Which demographic created Marxism (Jacobin/Bolshevism/Communism) the French (Jacobin) Revolution and French Empire, the English Empire, the Bolshevik Russian revolution and Communist China CCP? The answer is obvious to the truly educated... for these same people funded both sides of the U.S. Revolutionary War.
Communism was invited into the west. As Gen. Patton said "we fought the wrong enemy "
Yes, this is true. Should not have occurred.
Rhodesia was very oppressive to blacks thats a fact. That Zanu is equally evil as the Rhodesians doesn't mean people shouldn't have fought for their freedom.
Experiencing what exactly?
Yup .... as they sowed so shall they reap !!! ..... huge respect to the Rhodesian armed forces from Safa !! You / your guys were a example to the world & soldiers of hige note ....without doubt !! ..... my respects to all of you !!
I am gobsmacked by the strength of character of men in this series and John in particular. I am amazed Hollywood hasn't clamped onto some of these stories, they are simply amazing. Nice one!!
Well said!
We of the Green and White salute a great soldier. Thank you so very much John
Thank you - I loved my time in Rhodesia and miss it all to this day.
Narrated with great clarity and kept me locked onto the podcast. Well done John. More please.
More to come!
Thanks Ken, appreciated.
Awesome to hear you speak once again John .. much respect to you and for serving the green and white .. salute . Thanks for your stories and sharing your life ! John you are a Rhodesian with an Australian accent 😂😂.
Tatenda Hannes and Boss John Van . 🙏🏻
I appreciate that
The Aussie accent - stays with you regardless of how long you live outside Australia! Cheers
@@johngartner6026 I know what you mean …. My Rhodesian accent lives on even though I have lived in Aussie for 23 years .. 😂😂. But you still a Rhodie in our minds and heart ! Salute .. with Respect !
Thanks for another great interview. You mentioned a few names that I recall going back to my SAS training in May to September 1970 where I was on the same recruit course as Andy Chait, Frank Viviers, David Scales, just to mention a few. I look forward to hearing more going forward.
Those names you mentioned - all good guys. I know Frand and Dave are well, Andy of course was KIA 1977. Sad at the time and remains so to this day.
"Who Dares Wins," ain't that the truth. The brave men of our time who gave their all for Rhodesia.
Thanks for your service. Take care
Thank you, a great interview. Clear , concise and humble. Really enjoyed that.
Thanks, glad to hear that, appreciated.
These stories bring back a lot of memories for me, the names mentioned, the incidents talked about... what a time that was...!!
Great episode as always. Sometime would it be possible to hear more about Bob McKenzie?
Great chat once again..
Another great video cheers
Thank you for commenting, appreciated
Salute! 🍻
Great interview much respect
Thank you and best regards.
Excellent interview. I’ve seen several John Gardner interviews and they are all top notch. Very clear and concise recollections of his bush war experiences and no doubt a great field operator. His book The Fading Light is a great read for anyone interested.
**** John Gartner…..
Thanks for the kind commentary, greatly appreciated.
@@johngartner6026 You are most welcome John. It really is a great book.
Thank you John!!
Hello John, good to see you again. Looking young .
Thank you - not so young now, lots of aches and pains.
@@johngartner6026 Hi John , Yes John but we can deal with it because we have to. Broken leg from "clandestine" night op, debussing from RL foot caught in the half moon step, dragged for 100 meter's. Compromised the op with me yelling STOP you fuckers . That leg still reports for duty every morning. I did not get any sympathy
Excellent Book
Thank you very much for that comment, glad you enjoyed reading it. Regards
Good 1 tx

Maybe someday it can be rebuilt again.
He was an ex selous scout so i heard tgat was the rumour going around the commercial divers that lived in thailand also 1 of our divers left our vessel to go on leave ( qatar ) 92 time and was murdered in thailand he d bought from underworld an unlicensed firearm and was caught with it by police
