💑 About Hercules Candy
Hercules Candy has been on Steve’s side of the family since 1910(ish). When he took over in the 70’s, he anticipated after 10 years of hard work, he could move the business out of the basement and into a real storefront. Unfortunately, it took until 2018 for that to happen, but hey at least it happened! Steve and Terry own the shop, Craig (the social media manager) is their son, Cara (wrapper and shipper extraordinaire who is poised to take over the shop one day) is their daughter and Leah (who doesn’t love being on camera and is very elusive) is their oldest daughter. Karen has been working for Hercules Candy since the twins (Craig and Cara) were about 6 months old and everybody else is a new recruit. Don’t forget to subscribe and hit the 🔔 for more videos!

I have to tell you folks that I don't eat sugar (diabetes), but I love watching your videos. It is fascinating how sugar changes states, and you all are fun to listen to. You have a great business, and it must be fun to work there.

Cranberry filled with white chocolate would be a nice fall or Christmas flavor. Could be a mixed box including things like, peppermint filled with dark chocolate and orange and milk chocolate flavor also.

They have explained why they shut the door when adding the flavouring many times. It's because the scent (when first added to the hot sugar especially) can permeate the chocolate in the store - especially the cream filled chocolates that aren't packaged - those waiting to be put into boxes. Once the scent lessens then the door can be opened again.

I have watched tons of videos not knowing i lived in the same town, went for the first time today and got super sours and green apple ribbons sours were phenomenal sour throughout the whole candy definitely will be going back thats for sure

My problem as a diabetic, options are extremely limited. Like a candy maker in Florida has tons of hard candies and even designs yet only 3 options for sugar free. What's up with that? Sad we can't enjoy stuff to!🤷😢

OK I have an idea for you guys to try I make these every Christmas lately I’ve been making them more often because friends and family love them take two Ritz crackers peanut butter in the middle squish them together like a sandwich and then run them through your machine i dont know how to spell lol or do them by hand but dip them in the milk chocolate and then sprinkle little peppermint candy on top there mouthwatering melted in your mouth yummy I think they would be a hit for you

I make hard candy, using LorAnn flavors, I KNOW why you shut the door! The flavoring is very strong when you add it! I learned the hard way putting extra cinnamon flavor in while leaning over the pot & got a mild chemical burn that looked like I got sunburnt standing on my head. My glasses protected my eyes. I have made cinnamon since though.

What if you made the caramel a disk? Would that help it get more evenly distributed? Just an idea.

In a recent video, we were making ribbon candy and steve started to shape the candy into a hard candy shape 😂 That's about as close as we got to your question

That bubble wrap machine for shipping sounded so loud on the audio that i'd actually wanna wear earplugs during its use if it was that loud or louder in store.

I assume you close the door for two reasons...temperature control and to keep the whole store from smelling like whatever flavour you're doing.
Is the reason you shut the door is so there isnt a pressure difference from the kitchen and the rest of the shop so the candy can form properly?

What if you placed the caramel right on the edge or flowing over just a tad. Then you might get the caramel filling right from the start. ❤
Possibly if it was a little warmer, because in the beginning it's too hard to move and mold how you want until the candy heats it up a bit
