💑 About Hercules Candy
Hercules Candy has been on Steve’s side of the family since 1910(ish). When he took over in the 70’s, he anticipated after 10 years of hard work, he could move the business out of the basement and into a real storefront. Unfortunately, it took until 2018 for that to happen, but hey at least it happened! Steve and Terry own the shop, Craig (the social media manager) is their son, Cara (wrapper and shipper extraordinaire who is poised to take over the shop one day) is their daughter and Leah (who doesn’t love being on camera and is very elusive) is their oldest daughter. Karen has been working for Hercules Candy since the twins (Craig and Cara) were about 6 months old and everybody else is a new recruit. If you really wanted to make "hand creams" more marketable. You could buy those little plastic hands to make the cornstarch molds. They could then go through your enrober. They would be smaller and you could buy edible stickers for the finger nails or the feathers. Then they wouldn't take as long to decorate. Imaging the possibilities! Great video. You all seemed to have a lot of fun.

Should look at food grade silicone to make custom mold like this where you wont make alot of them, they are probably too much storage for mass produced items, but for your larger rabbits and things it could work for too depending the design.

After filling the cornstarch mold and hand sets up, freeze it and run through the enrober. This will give a thinner and more consistent coat of chocolate - without melting the fingers.

Could you put the justchocolate in the hand shape down 1st then the candy shape, then topping chocolate last,smooth around hand till hard enough to pick up ! ..? ❤

To carry the hand candy regularly, it would need molds to make the shell a consistent weight and thickness. Then just fill the shell with the cream and cap with chocolate. To cut down on the decorating time, use a spray pen and edible food color powders sprayed onto the hand. I think those would sell really well at Halloween. You could also make them out of nougat or marshmallow. You can even make just the fingers and go really macabre for spooky season.
Edit to add: you can make child sized hands to further cut down on cost.
Hello I have a question,
Im a dutch guy and back in my younger days my grandmother would make Boterbabbelaar/Butter babbler, its a traditional hard candy from the province Zeeland in the Netherlands,
and my question is if you guys also made something similar back in the older days, its made from just butter, sugar, vinegar, water and a pinch of salt and then sometimes they would add a bit cacao or cinnamon and then they would just throw it on the hook for a couple minutes, and then they would make it into lolypops or small pillows and thats it, really easy but really good.

You may want to add white underneath before painting the orange. That would make the orange pop against the dark chocolate.

So I’m curious is there a reason why you didn’t use the chocolate fountain thing (I don’t even know the name of it lol) to coat the hand in chocolate? I’m just wondering if there was a reason.
You guys should do some of these for Halloween. Like a witch hand, Frankenstein.... Like that. EDIT: I mean maybe try one or two to see if they sell cause $60-100 is pricey but I mean it would be fun to have. Not sure what kind of demand it would be thats why I say one or two.

Fill a glove with chocolate or freeze it than make the molds then dip the mold in to chocolate so it won't be as bulky

You should do the dalgona cookies from squid game for a one time thing. An in-store event where if you can free the shape without breaking, that person wins a discount or whatever. Also, ever considered doing chocolate covered sponge toffee? Like the Cadbury Crunchie bar. They are sooo good.

White chocolate tinted with the orange, yellow and red for stripes. A candy corn for the beak at the tip of its nose. Google eye perfect. Wattles from gummy something. Lol, the creepy hand was super creepy in a fun way!

I would've thought putting it through the enrober would've been easier and smoother.
What about making the hand creams and sticking it in a glove filled with chocolate to coat it. The glove is flexible and you'll be able to see if the cream is covered completely, it'll solidify in the glove in the fridge.
I also really like the turkey hand!
Remember when you were in grammar school and you had to trace your hand to make a turkey and then color/add decorations to it for thanksgiving every year? My grandkids have been doing theirs for a couple of years now and they look a lot like that 😂❤, though I wouldn’t want to eat theirs. Paper doesn’t taste as good as chocolate…
Also, wild turkeys are angry. Even the domesticated ones aren’t anybody you should try to cuddle.
