Want to learn about Intel processors too? You can see my video on that located in the description section above.
I was thinking you would provide the details of the difference between different full names of them. For example, which one is better: Ryzen 7 7730u or Ryzen 5 5600H, etc.
There are many processors within each category.
Thank you
Shut up and take a Intel core i5 processor instead of disgusting AMD
I think because he wanted to keep it super simple.
Adding those variations will just make it complicated
U means it can overclock meaning if it can go up to 4 Ghz than it can go over it like 5 Ghz. Ryzen 7 is newer than Ryzen 5 and has tohe overclock function if needed for videogames. 7 7730> 5 5600H imo. But it also depends on the voltage. Go see CPU tier list online, for more and better info.
For example let's say we have 7840HS first 7 means the generation like 7000 series the second 8 means Ryzen 7 this can also be 7, 6,5 etc. 4 means Zen 4, and don't bother with that last number but basically it's better if it's 5 rather than 0 but this only applies to new cpu names not something relatevly old like 5600H
And HS and H means high power but higher battery usage so less battery time but U means less power usage, less power but higher battery time
Timestamp according to the classification would be great
I just bought a Ryzen 7 5700U mini computer for $269, new! I’m not sure how that works when the processor alone costs 3 times that.
Which playlist this video is in?
Thanks for making this video!! I've been looking for a laptop for a while now and have always been overwhelmed by all the choices and terminology!! So this video really helped me out!! :^) 💜💖💜
Glad I could help!
You've done an Intel video, an AMD video. How about a video with AMD and Intel....comparison video. "This CPU is close to this CPU" etc
💯
Hi, currently I'm using my laptop for hours of Zoom meeting, teaching my students, but my i5-1035G1 lags immediately once I open 3+ Microsoft Edge tabs while sharing screen on Zoom. I have decided to get the Asus tuf A15 laptop, but I don't know whether to get the AMD Ryzen 7 7735hs or Ryzen 9 7940hs version. What would you recommend? I don't do video editing or animation, just occasionally play light games and Zoom
Ryzen 7 for sure
R7 should be enough for your needs.
Thank you for explaining! I brought a Ryzen 7 for music production it’s been great so far.
Great to hear!
Can you do RAM too? Like Low, Midrange and High End I think
Perhaps in a future video!
It's really simple. 8GB is budget, 16GB is average, 32GB is high-end. DDR4 is cheaper and a liiiittle bit slower, DDR5 is unreasonably expensive and a bit faster. That's basically it.
@@balintlaczko4086what does faster ram do?
@@Ivan-xg1hx well... it is faster? It doesn't really matter because the difference isn't really noticable, but if you want to do some really big editing you might need faster RAM. Please mind that getting DDR5 also needs a DDR5-compatible motherboard and CPU, which is likely more expensive.
On pretty much any build I would push for DDR4 3200 ram but if you want the best of the best get the fastest DDR5 ram, it's not great price to performance but if you care about every last frame it's the way to go
I want to use RCOM for parallel computing . I am using Ryzen 5700 with integrated APU with 16 logical processors . The OS is windows 11 pro
1. Can this be used like GPGPU in parallel computing using HPC/ RCOM ?
2. How do I install RCOM for using pytorch / tensorflow for parallel computing in windows 11 pro?
Excellent video . Thank you so much . Subscribed. Please make a video about best integrated graphics CPU/APU. Thanks
Thanks for watching! Ill be sure to look into it :)
Thank you bud. Its hard to get through the learning curve of this stuff
Happy to help :)
This the video I need can I get your opinion on a laptop Im thinking of buying
Thank you so much for the great explanation of the differance in models. AMD Ryzen™ 9 5900X is installed in a costum desk top i use for video editing and its my music production computer.... Works great...
Glad it helped
Hi there ! Thanks for your useful video, but you make no mention of, for example, the AMD A4-5000 with Radeon HD Graphics that is installed in my 64-bit O/S HP Pavilion Laptop. Is this because such a CPU was available only in Great Britain or Europe ?
That's not mentioned because it's from 2013. It was available in the USA at one time, but it's long been obsolete.
The PC I built in 2016 finally stopped sending video so I had to build a new one. I got a Ryzen 5 3600 but noticed that CPU runs a little hot and easily shot up to 85c+ within seconds of doing video compression, so I decided to return it and get a Ryzen 7 5700X, so I'm looking forward to installing that tomorrow. I would like to get back into PC gaming but I mostly will need the power for video editing, video compression with Handbrake for my media library, 3D modeling, game development, etc.
Excelent video also the Intel one , thank you for all the explanations, and keep up the good work.
Glad you like them! Thank you for your viewership :)
I have a question. IN your Intel video, you didn't gave any information about Intel's M series processors. Can you tell me something about it.
its their laptop cpus. generally the same chipset but tuned for slower performance because its harder to get rid of heat for a laptop
bro i have AMD Radeon (TM) R5 M330 so which category is it ,does the R5 means ryzen5 ? it might be a stupid question but idk everything 😶,can someone help me out in this?
R5 M330 i sa old amd Dedicated Gpu for laptops and its really bad for gaming but for normal tasks its good
@@Ran7IX thankyu bro
Ryzen is CPU, and Radeon is GPU.
Can you do 30 series GPUS next
This was an amazing help, thank you bro
Glad it helped
@@SoulOfTech it did I'm currently trying to build a Ryzen cpu build around my Rog rtx 2070
Informative. Thanks.
Glad it was helpful!
Great overview and Video on computer processors, very helpful, yes, helpful guidances…to assist with our buying decisions.
Glad it was helpful!
I use my Ryzen 3 2200G (4C4T; 3.7GHz; 16GB DDR4 (3000MHz)) for browsing and running 1, 2 or 3 Virtualbox VMs at the same time. One for email and social media messaging, another for banking and the corresponding spreadsheets and the last one for multimedia apps. A few times per week I run a Windows XP VM as jukebox and by exception I use a Windows 11 Pro VM, as something special comes up :)
The April 2019 system still works fine, but it will need an upgrade for the last 5 years. I consider a Ryzen 5 5600G (6C12T) and 32GB DDR4 (3200MHz).
I leave the disks probably unchanged; 512GB nvme-SSD (3rd-gen; 3400/2300MB/s) and 2TB HDD (192MB/s) supported by a 128GB sata-SSD cache (530MB/s). I run Linux, more precisely Ubuntu 23.10 + OpenZFS 2.2.0 + Virtualbox 7.0.12. OpenZFS compresses all storage and all caches (sata-SSD + memory) using lz4 compression with a ratio of ~1.7.
I run exactly the same system and exactly the same VMs on my 2011 laptop; a HP Elitebook 8540p (i5-2520M; 8GB DDR3) and a 2TB HDD (110MB/s). Here it is somewhat slow, but still reasonable workable. At least I have exactly the same VMs and data at home and on the road. I keep them synced through the OpenZFS snapshots (send | ssh receive), mostly once per week.
I also have to replace the 2011 laptop and buy another off-lease laptop from 2018/19, preferably with space for nvme-SSD and my 2TB HDD.
I came here looking for vpu generations and this is what i got...
As a user of an old i5 7500 that was starting to get really old (four cores when playing "relatively" greedy video games, you could feel that the processor was sweating), switching to a Ryzen 7 5800X was a godsend.
I sometimes used Davinci Resolve for very primitive functions (just the classic "I cut, I move video segments", in short, very basic stuff, but even with my old processor and graphics card, it was very rough. Not impossible, but you had to be very patient).
From now on, almost everything runs smoothly, and coupled with an RTX 4060 for skin in the game (I'm not the kind of gamer who wants ultra-beautiful games, etc., so a graphics card that saves electricity while allowing me to play what I want was enough for me), I'm delighted.
I know about intel processor but a stranger to AMD processors.
But when i came to a budget of 250 dollars, then i had to expand my knowledge.
I got a r7 5800H and I'm really unhappy with it. I got it to run at ~4.6 GHz but it's so slow. Way to few cores. It almost maxes out during work :/
What kind of work
That's a mobile processor for laptops. Desktop processors of the same class will be much faster. The R7 5800X3D for desktops is a beast.
Thanks for the info! I just purchased a new gaming p
Hope you enjoy it!
fantastic explanations. Thank you very much
You are welcome!
You forgot the 64 core Thread ripper !!
Which cpu is better to you amd or intel
Depends
love your vedio becuse people who do not hear they could esily understent by the images thank you very much
I am glad it helped :)
Very Insightful video
Glad you think so!
Thank you for your videos. They make things much simpler in buying computers. I would suggest, not having gone through all your content yet, you make a video explaining things like threads that you don't include in your AMD and Intel chip explanations. Just a thought. Again, thank you for your content.
Hey thanks for watching and providing such helpful feedback! I will be making a video about generations and threads in Jan 2024 (by popular demand). Truthfully I did not relize these explainer videos would get such high demand. Ill be sure to make more simplified content to cover other aspects in the future :)
Very Good video really helped me out
Glad it helped
Thanks a lot! You saved me a ton of time I suspect. Good video! Bye
Glad to hear it!
Thank you!
Welcome!
Thanks for this video, I'm getting started to think about what to purchase for the future on my portable gaming laptop! you just received a new sub
Thank you so much 😊
Thanks man. Knew intel in and out but didn't check what amd has to offer
Glad I could help
Still doest explain what the numbers behind the generation means, for example which is better the ryzen 5 3600 or ryzen 5 5500
Perhaps in a future video!
Excellent video. Even though I'm usually an Intel guy, Ryzen 7 fits my wants/needs perfectly.
Glad I could help!
Same. Just switched to Ryzen 7 myself, mostly for efficiency usage.
I bought a Ryzen 9 to watch CZcams videos because I can.
More power to you!
You have cleared my confusion about these processors which i had for years .. thanks dear plz keep making these info videos..
My pleasure 😊
Hope you will consider subscribing to the channel!
Finally explained! Thx
Thanks for watching :)
me watching 1080p videos in a ryzen 9
That's a lot of untapped power for sure!
Nice video! But AMD Threadripper?
I was going to include threadripper but I stuck to the mainstream ones that the avg consumer runs into at a tech store. Ill be sure to cover it in a future video!
I got ryzen 7 3700u is this good processor
Good
This has helped me big time ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Not at all, don't waste your money on it
No. That's an office computer with a low-end mobile processor. You'd need at least a Ryzen 5 5600X and at least 16 GB DDR4 RAM for gaming. A dedicated GPU is also best, rather than an integrated GPU.
@@LauraKnotek You meant Ryzen 5 5600g? Cause 5600x *needs* a dedicated GPU.
1. Whats the difference between a thread and a core
2. What is an AMD threadripper cpu
3. do you have a video on amd gpu's?
Hey there, the first 2 I'll look into making content down the road.
GPU explanation video scheduled for early March.

also you forgot the EPYC and THREADRIPPER CPUs from AMD
uh i have a 2 core amd ryzen 3 i think you got it wrong if you said its up to 4 core
There are different varieties of Ryzen 3. Some have two however some versions can have up to a maximum of 4 cores. For example the Ryzen 3 4100.
@@SoulOfTech how can i get the most of my APU aka ryzen 3 3250U with 2 Cores
he said "up to"
"up to" meaning it will have maximum 4 cores depends on the generation and the tier of that cpu
just like how other brand do with the price, they say "starting at xxx$ and get up to YYY TB SSD and X cores"
@@Hardware1906 well how the fuck do i maximize the TDP so i can get a 60

Hey! You forgot about AMD Vision
this dude needs more subscribers
Thanks for watching!
Unfortunately this was unhelpful to me. I wish you would've talked more about the different variants and numbers of Ryzen CPUs.
'Cause you make it sound like R7 is always better than R5, but when I look up a comparison of a R5 5600 and my current R7 1700 for example; the R5 5600 is better on paper. I was trying to figure that out and what exactly all those numbers really mean to clear up my confusions, but I guess I'll have to keep digging
Simplest and best explanation of amd processors finally 😅
Glad you liked it!
r3 is enought to play if you have gpu r5 hight end gaming and the best is r7 for gaming r9 for gaming is not recomend if this is the only thing that you do
👍
I need even more oversimplified. More graphics, less talking.
AMD still makes x86. The only major difference between Intel and AMD is how they do the registers and memory handlers.
The lowest end processor IS the high end processor with components turned off. They don't make multiple CPUS, they make one CPU with 16 cores and if some of those cores fail they disable them and call it an 8 core (or however many worked).
If you have the lowest end of production quality they will lock out overclocking (which would make it unstable).
The reason people are confused about model numbers is because they don't understand anything at all about the silicon lottery or how dirty and corrupt the x86 cult leaders are.
Im stuck between two laptops. Anybody have some advice? What would be the better option between:
M1 Macbook Air 256GB 8GB Ram 13’3 inch screen
HP Pavilion Aero 13-be0030na, Windows 11, AMD Ryzen™ 7 5800U Processor, 16gb Ram, 512 GB SSD.
Please let me know guys!
It depends on your needs, IMO the extra space and extra ram is necessary for my daily usage, 8gb ram is not enough
Better get laptop with R7 7840U
@@Mancarv But i have heard 8GB of ram on a macbook feels like 16gb on a windows
@@Tybapz It does but it's not the same, I have coworkers with 8gb and it's not enough, I have a macbook pro with "only" 16gb and it just does the work. It really depends on your needs but I recommend 16gb for future proof and work
@@Mancarv hey thanks for the reply. I ended up getting the base Macbook Air M1. Arrived today. So far it’s been great.

average explanation, did not touch on within bracket what x500, x600, x700, x800 etc and then things 5750X3D etc
I knew the intel one but was completely unaware about AMD, thanks!
Glad to be of insight!
totally useless. The video could be much shorter if you just say Ryzen processors are great. The higher the number, the more they can do, the faster they are and the more expensive they are. You didn't explain anything in my opinion. For example what does "X" mean in the processor name?
Seems like you already knew everything this video has to offer :) this video is not for you, it’s for someone who has no idea the the mentioned classes mean.
I don’t think people know you can have a ryzen 3rd gen and still be faster than a ryzen 7 lol the numbers matter not so much the generation
System price ≠ chip price
That’s mostly true, the prices however are approximate references of what a laptop with such configurations may be valued at.

I forgot to smile :(
It’s never too late to smile 😃
