Same dude. Everyone always explains away like we know what overclocking is or doesn’t give a good reference when talking about what an average gamer wants out of PC parts. Like comparing a CPU’s specs with another CPU, it doesn’t help me. Because I’m trying to find out which CPU I need for an average game today.

There were no Ryzen 4000 Desktop processors.
Ryzen 4000 was mobile (laptop) only.
    Desktop 3000 = Lapop 4000 generation wise.
This was not known at the time of this video.
So when she meant "skip the Ryzen 4000 and go for Ryzen 5000 for future-proofing", take it as skip 5000 and go for 6000.
5000 series is also where AMD beat Intel in gaming too, by having better single-core performance (5600x beats 10900k too in that). Skipping 5000 to go for 6000 and AM5 socket boards should give you 5 years of upgrade capability (as we saw about 5 years support for AM4) AND rumours suggest DDR5 RAM support.

Well really it depends what you use it for A Ryzen 7 is really what I would recommend for gaming with and a Ryzen 5 if you're not really going to do much of anything else in the background I just upgraded from a 1500x to a 3700x and it's wonderful I don't have to worry so much about my processor maxing out anymore like I had to with that 1500x, a Ryzen 5 3600, 3600x, 5600, or 5600x is fine too if all you are doing is gaming don't confuse the Ryzen 7 and 9 as just business end CPUs like she explained, I would say if you have the budget get one of them so you won't have to worry about upgrading for quite a while a 3900x will last you a long time if you want to know between the 3900x and 5900x and you already have a 3900x don't upgrade until the next-gen Ryzen 6000 series comes out you'll be fine until then if you are on a Ryzen 5 or decided to get one over a Ryzen 9 then I would consider upgrading to a 5900x but upgrading to a 5600x ehhh not quite the upgrade i mean sure it's faster but... just a little bit and it owuldn't be worht it to me.

I'm not an avid Gamer, but needed a new modern set up just for every day use, due to pricing and availability I ended up with a 3600XT instead of the standard 3600. It won't be over clocked as I don't need that, and it should last as long as the Phenom II 965 Black edition that I just retired, I also have an FX9590 Piledriver on a 990 chipset that was used in my old simulator but I am retiring that too.

FOR ANYONE WHO DOESNT KNOW, ryzen 3 3300x 4 cores 8 threads gets more performance in gaming than ryzen 5 3500x for example and it’s cheaper( for gaming 4 cores and 8 threads is enough for JUST GAMING and it’s better for gaming than ryzen 5 3500x but for other things the ryzen 5 3500x is a bit worse in performance but better in video editing and recording for example cuz it has 6 cores and 12 threads, for a bit more money the ryzen 5 3600 is best value cuz it’s good for gaming and better for video editing and recording it has 6 cores and 12 threads)

@@franknbeans7745 i agree, but if you are on a budget like me a cpu is something you can cheap out on. The difference is (in gaming) 5 to 15% more fps and for €100 to €150 more thats not worth it for me atm. I also have 100hz monitor so would not change much in alot of games i play.

@@alexa4201 i had a similar thought then, was gonna get the Ryzen 5 2600 at the time since it was on sale when the 3000 series were only a few months old, but i opted for the Ryzen 7 3700 8 core instead, and im glad i made that choice. sure even now in 2022 i haven't played a game that took up 8 cores, but plenty of games use atleast 4, so getting a 6 core would've been ok, but i wanted that extra head room. it allows the CPU to breathe more, and doesn't have to work as hard. when i put on a game the CPU only operates at 58% which is pretty good, if it's a damanding game it'll go up to about 66%, but that's still pretty good. it also helps if you have a decent GPU, which i do have Radeon RX 6600 XT. i got that GPU after upgrading from a gtx 1050ti i had for a long time.
