      @TurboLoveTrain Před 2 měsíci +60

      @@ploob.2207 bro, DDR is almost a 30 year old tech and DDR5 isn't worth the significant cost increase for the slight increase in performance over DDR4. Also, you just cant "upgrade" from DDR4 to DDR5--you have to rebuild your whole system. The pinouts aren't even the same between DDR4 and DDR5.
      Basically double your build price (at least double) to use DDR5 over DDR4 and your speed improvement is going to be maybe 10%.

    I especially like your cpu/gpu combo videos for the information about minimum and maximum pairings. Years ago I built a PC with a 3600 and 5700xt for 1080p 144hz, which was later upgraded to a 6800 and 1440p 170hz, and more recently a 5800x3d, with an eye to eventually pair it with something at your recommended max performance. (8800xt later this year?) Being able to alternate between cpu and gpu upgrades without the system ever feeling unbalanced has been great.

It is for gaming, but I tend to play games that are more CPU and memory intensive, so to me, it made sense to shift the balance in favor of a higher end CPU and more RAM (64Gb). If you are running at higher resolution and primarily playing graphics intensive action games that need all the FPS you can get, I can see his recommendation for a higher end graphics card making sense with this processor.

    If you have money for a midrange gaming pc (1200-1500) definitely go for the amd 5 7600(x), over the i5. Single core (amd) is mostly better for gaming, cheaper and has ddr5. Next to that you can upgrade your cpu and gpu on the motherboard with amd. With an b650 motherboard (be sure its a am5 socket) and the 7800xt you will eat up 1440p gaming! Get yourself some 6000mhz cl30 ram and an nvme, gen3/4 ssd and you will elevate your gaming experience for a mid range price. This build would be between 1200-1500, without an screen ofc. PC Builder has multiple video’s about different build on his channel, definitely check them out if you don’t know where to start or your second guessing what to do!

    This video actually saved me some money as I was leaning towards the i5-12600kf, but I see now that as a gaming oriented build it will not give me the increase in performance to cost (about 30$ more for the 12600kf where I live)

    I love the video, very informative, but wanted to ask further on this combo that I currently have.
    I have a Ryzen 7 5700x and a 4070, I did spend more on the GPU to have more frames for games and dabble on a bit of editing, in your professional opinion, do you think that I should upgrade my CPU? Or is this combo a bit okay, since I want to maximize my GPU.
    I am running on a b550 Motherboard, and 32 gbs of DDR4 RAM.

    Is b450M-A PRO MAX good for 5600x or should I sell it and buy a b550 motherboars? Also, I want to buy a 6700xt and I know it’s a 1440p gaming videocard, but would it be bad if I use it as a 1080p card? With 5600x ofc

    I am a bit puzzled where I should I get next, as I have a 4070Ti paired with a faulty AMD R5 3600..Should I invest towards DDR5 and *ahem, perhaps Intel, because probably less problems ? Or should I try to keep on AM4 and if so, what would be a good fit to not bottleneck ? I feel like 5800x3D is too pricy for what it offers - from what I've seen. Using the PC for gaming, streaming and will go into (video,photo) editing as well

    • @PCBuilderChannel
      @PCBuilderChannel  Před měsícem +1

      The 3600 is bottlenecking that GPU for sure. AM4 doesn't have any more problems than Intel so I wouldn't worry about that. If you have the motherboard to support it I'd go 5700X3D.

      @@PCBuilderChannelThank you for your answer, sir !
      May I ask for a little bit of reasoning for 5700x3D over 5800x, besides the L3 Cache ? In a comparison video I saw that 5700x3D is getting very similar results (often lower actually) in terms of fps - but worse 1% and 0.1% lows.
      Thank you again for taking some of your time ❤

      @@horia43 because the 5700X3D is better for Gaming vs the 5800X. Whatever video you saw I'm guessing wasn't the most accurate.

    Only the second place I've ever heard to go with the ryzen 5 5500 for budget gaming....every other place says it's a epic pile. For $100 cad I have had zero problems with it.

    I just upgraded this week, and went with the Ryzen 7 5800X3D paired with a MSI 4080. Only pitfall is the RAM where I had to fall back to DDR4 3600 due to my budget, but I'm hoping it will suffice until I can make the jump to DDR5.

    Question! - I've got a Ryzen 5 1600x paired with an RX 580 8GB Gaming x+ GPU.
    Seems like my best option moving forward is to get a:
    Ryzen 5 5600x paired with a RX 7800XT - 10:23
    Or am I mistaken?
    I live in Portugal so the CPU is about 150€ and the GPU is 600€
    A Ryzen 7600 for an AM5 upgrade is 230€ with compatible motherboards rounding the 150+€ and 70€ per 16GB of Ram.
    So by all accounts upgrading to an AM5 platform right now may not be efficient, and it's probably better to invest in a better CPU and GPU that isn't bottle-necked by it, right?
    My current Motherboard is a Prime B350 Plus with 2x8GB of Ram. 16Gb sticks are around 40€
    I game comfortably in 1080p in part due to my 144Hz monitor, so my main concern is to have a rig that can handle upcoming games at High settings above 60fps,
    5800x3d is around 350€, so as much as I'd love to, it likely isn't viable to invest in a killer AM4 rig considering the age of my Motherboard. Most of my components are 7 years old.

    • @leihau
      @leihau Před 2 měsíci

      If you plan on staying at 1080p for now you could get a 3600, if you want to spend little as possible, you may even consider buying used. I got that CPU used for just 40€, and it's been serving me great. I will probably upgrade to a 1080ti since it destroys a lot of mid-end/budget newer cards, and I've seen one used for just under 200€, at least this is my choice since I'm quite tight on budget, if you have more to spend you can try getting some of this video's recommendations if you plan on buying new. If you're staying at 1080p you likely won't need more than that unless you have specific use cases for it
