    *Note: 1) RX 7600 XT is x8 GPU, & has a small 7% loss at 1440p using Ryzen 5500 Gen 3 CPU, which is why I suggested getting the Ryzen 3600 & B550 if available. 2) I refer to £1000 pound build as $1300, but it's really $1000 US because of the tax difference*

      I would just spend the extra money on a 5600x (or ideally another $25 above that for a 5700x) and B550, and I would never consider Zen 2. This way it will be a nicer PC overall for the long haul and will support PCIe 4. You can also get a 6700xt or 6750xt 12GB for about what those 7600xt's are showing up as, they are close performancewise, but there are a few games that favor 67xx over 7600 and vice versa.

    • @zzavatski
      @zzavatski Před měsícem +1

      I like how you swapped new garbage tier platform for previous gen solid one.
      Decent B450 is also good compromise.
      I would definitely stretch the budget to Ryzen 5600. Outdated CPU on an older platform is one bridge to far IMHO.

      With the way prices change over the world the RX GPU isn't automatically a given. Where I live a friend asked about components for a new computer so I put together two alternatives that really only differed in the GPU. One with a RX GPU and one with a RTX GPU and digging through benchmarks it turned out that at the price the Nvidia based RTX 4070 Super spanked the RX option and the RTX was cheaper. At first I was convinced that the RX would win regular rendering but loose ray tracing. Turned out the 4070 Super won in all categories. It's actually almost up to 4070 Ti which was just too expensive and the Ti Super version doesn't really make a significant headroom over it's non Super older version.
      All in all the AMD based graphics cards are just way to expensive locally. Cost performance are generally in advantage for Nvidia powered GPU's which makes it kind of frustrating to see the prices abroad for Radeon graphics cards. Sure you can buy from other countries, but then the delivery cost usually makes that a bad option.

      @@PCBuilderChannel My favorite channel when it comes to PCs. I like watching ZTT's videos as well, but I think he's exaggerating the claim that AM4 is a dead platform. Yes, AM5 is a better option, but newer and better motherboards for that platform will be released, as newer PCIe standards will be released, as will faster ddr5 RAM with lower latency. I don't know about others, but I usually update my hardware every 4-5 years, so in 5 years I'll definitely have to buy a new motherboard and new RAM, regardless of the platform I'm currently on. Certainly the R5 7600 is a better option than the AM4 CPUs, but both the 5600x and especially the 5800x3d/5700x3d are very capable gaming CPUs.

    Hey man, love your channel and especially these boost your build videos. I'm in the Uk. I fell into many of the traps you talk about on this channel last year. I went 7700 non x with a 6750xt. Im now on a 1440p monitor and play mostly single player rpgs or AAA titles as I've come over from playstation but I'm struggling for fps in the new titiles. Shouldve spent more on my gpu !!! Any pointers for a gpu upgrade that will sort me out for the next few years, was looking at the 6950xt as there are a few second hand ones around for £540 ish, but should i save and spend a bit more on another gpu? thanks

    • @PCBuilderChannel
      @PCBuilderChannel  Před měsícem

      6750 XT is fairly good at 1440p, but if you feel the need for more FPS the 6950 XT would be a substantial upgrade, as would the 7900 GRE which gives about the same performance brand new with better power usage and AV1 encoding. Hope that helps!

      For that price get a 7900 GRE, it's faster, cooler, and uses less power, and supports all of AMD's latest tech. They have them new on Amazon at the price you quoted. The Hellhounds are an excellent compromise of price, performance, noise and cooling. Don't get caught up in the various tiers of Radeon cards within a manufacturer's lineup, the performance difference between the AMD reference design and the hugest, most expensive, overengineered ones (i.e. Sapphire Nitro and Powercolor Red Devil) is like 4%.
      The rest of your system sounds pretty good to me. I would NOT consider building a system with a 2 generations old CPU, personally. Yours is fairly future-proof.

    • @Jmcinally94
      @Jmcinally94 Před měsícem +1

      You might have a few hidden costs with the 6950xt, because it's huge and draws a lot of power. So if your case can't fit a 3 slot and your PSU isn't 1000w, you may have to upgrade these too! I got one and thought my 850w PSU would be enough, no dice.

  • @jamegumb7298
    @jamegumb7298 Před měsícem +7

    5:02 Mistake, that is not dual channel. Instead of one 64-bit channel per module, you get two 32-bit channels per module. It will show "2x 32-bit" for a single module, even though physically (seen from the board) it runs in single-channel mode.
    There is more efficient memory access, but no speed gain unlike "real" dual channel, 2× DDR5 modules will double the effective throughput.

    • @PCBuilderChannel
      @PCBuilderChannel  Před měsícem +5

      Yes that is how it works. However, since we aren't talking about the motherboard side, we're talking specifically about the DIMM operation, it is quad channel on the DIMMs.

You might be thinking of Intel Quicksync which is on Intel CPUs without an F, that can increase render time a little. Bequiet Purebase 600, Corsair RM 850 PSU, MSI B550-A Pro, Ryzen 5700x, Corsair LPX DDR4- 3000 32 GB (2x16), Kingston 2TB PCI-E 3.0 2 TB NVME, Seagate Barracuda 4 TB internal HDD, Asus Xonar Essence STX2 Soundcard, EVGA 2060 super XC3 - reasonable combo ? I paid 20 for the case, 60 for the PSU, 25 for the mainboard, 155 for the CPU ( cooled by Alpenfön Ben Nevis), 60 for the RAM. The 2060 super was left over from some previous experiments. Fokus is Cubase and plugins so that I can hook up a few synths via cubase interfaces. Frames really don't matter. What do you think ? Fair combo, or should I go with Intel ?

Add in different categories of things having different tax rates at each of those levels and basically every point of sale system will have to programed with all taxes.

    Hi, nice video, but I found issue on 650$ build with RX 7600xt. That motherboard you suggest is pci gen3 and gpu is pci gen4 with only 8x lines. So it will run only x8 lines on pci gen3 which will cause some performance loss. I was considering exact same budget build myself, but luckily found out this problem. Went with used nvidia 3070 for exact same price.

    I think the guy with the USD 650 build should have said what games he is playing and if he can upgrade very soon. If he expects to get another USD 300-400 soon for upgrading, then a R5 7600 build may make sense. A few months on a RX 580 second hand for USD 50, one 16GB stick and a better PSU and motherboard could hold him over playing slightly older games and eSports games.
    Then a next-gen Radeon for USD 300 and another stick of RAM will come in as a super nice upgrade.

    • @PCBuilderChannel
      @PCBuilderChannel  Před měsícem +1

      I disagree here, no matter what games it would end up costing more to upgrade out of this disaster of a build later to end up properly matching the 7600, then just building at the proper level now then upgrading with a 5700X3D in the future.

    • @konstantinlozev2272
      @konstantinlozev2272 Před měsícem

      @@PCBuilderChannel I agree that the motherboard and PSU are disasters. And the Rx 5700XT @usd 200 is a no-mo. But the only "loss" in my alternative suggestion above (better motherboard and PSU + Second hand Rx 580) is the price loss for 5 months on a RX 580. If he buys it at USD 60 and sells it at USD 50, only real loss is the USD 10.
      But again, that's a niche scenario of expecting to get another USD 300-400 in 5 months. The OP did not indicate that's his scenario, so I agree your build was probably more adequate.

I play mostly cross platform games like Fortnite and Tiny Tiny Wonderland. If I sell only the 5800x3D, motherboard, Kraken X62 and Ram for $500 should I upgrade??????????? New Upgrade would be all new except used CPU, MSI X670E Gaming Plus WiFi , KLEVV RGB DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL30 White,,,,,, and "used 7700x" for $550 total, is it worth the hassle or be content with what I have?
