    For anyone having trouble with the install what worked for me could work for you. I was having the problem of the lights only coming on for a bit when I press unlock on the button and what ended up being the solution after a week and a half of messing with it was the ground!! In the harness that comes with the mirrors there is a brown wire that is common/ground, what i did was tap into that brown wire and grounded the wire on the top bolt that hold the actual mirror and now everything is working as it should!

Thank you for posting your resolution because it probably saved me all the headaches you had. Thank you.

The headlight marker lights turn on when I unlock the truck, and when I turn the hazards on just not when I turn the blinker. The marker lights, and turn signal light on the passenger side mirror doesn’t turn on either. Is there anyway to troubleshoot this? The drivers side works just fine.

    • @babyfacelmao69
      @babyfacelmao69 Před 5 lety +4

      @@linko90 Tap into the power wire for the backup lamps. This is going to be a light green wire that runs to that back of your truck (into a rear lamp junction box, and then to your reverse lights). They originate from the VEH BCK/UP Fuse 15- 10A fuse in the underhood fuse box. If you need help finding that light green wire, just try to follow it from your rear reverse lights up into the cabin. I can't for the life of me understand why in this video they placed the ground wire to another fuzed power slot in the box... likely the reason other commenters here are having some serious problems. I may not have watched in enough detail and missed something though.... but first glance that looks to be incorrect wiring in the video. You will want to ground out the (-) wires (black) in this video.

    • @linko90
      @linko90 Před 5 lety

      SilveradoGuy1989 The Black wire isn’t a ground it’s a positive for either the marker lamp or the reverse spot light, I can’t remember which one right now. The ground is connected to the ground of the turn signal plug in the window switch module. My problem I’m having is when I connect to either fuse, vehicle back up or trailer back up, or park light for vehicle or trailer The lights only come on for about 2-3 seconds when I press unlock on my remote. I’ve tried tapping straight into my reverse light and the light doesn’t come on at all and same thing with tapping the marker into my corner lamps. I’ve even tried to connect the wires straight to 12v (with fuse) and they won’t turn on at all. Again the only way I’ve got them to turn on at all is when they’re tapped into the vehicle or trailer fuse and it’s only when I unlock it. And A1 wasn’t much help, they told me to refer to this video or forums. I posted in forums and no one has responded lol so I’m glad you did.

    Hi Thanks for the video! I just purchased the DEDC tow mirrors for 2007 - 2013 chevy silverado and took the door panels off and none of my connector are the same size or fit. It is just like the truck in this video. The stock mirrors on it now are electronic but no blinker, and my new mirrors have two boxes and the little one. One box is black and doesn't fit in the connectors that are already inside the door and one is the same size but blue. Any help would be greatly appricated

    They could’ve had the wire extend all the way to the mirror outside shouldn’t have to remove the whole door to get to the mirror

    Brown wire ground it or it won’t work right!!!! Bullshit. If you have a how to video then do it right.

    Think I’ll just trade my truck, no offense but the installers I have had contact with are just not this smart.

    So if your truck comes with tow mirrors the power folding mirrors would only work for those that have those type of mirrors. As for the round ones that aren't tow mirrors would fit my truck but wouldn't function properly due to having a different wiring system. So if I add tow mirrors to my 2011 Chevy silverado 1500 they wouldn't function properly like it does with that truck because it's not the same wiring fuses and fuse box behind the pedals!? The OE mirrors have to match the trucks stock mirrors in order for it to work right.

      +Awesome Adrian The mirrors would have to match the factory ones option for option. If there is any differences in the options the wiring and plugs will not work. Thanks for checking us out! 1aau.to/m/Shop-1AAuto-c
