OKAY about that mermaid thing: Humans are called the "other-other white meat" for a reason. Our flesh has roughly the same (for lack of a better word) consistency to a pig. The rescue cat one sounds a lot like my dog. When we got her, she was really skittish and always slept curled up tightly in a ball since she'd spent most of her first year in a cage (she used to be my aunt & uncle's and they treated her _horrifically_ ). Now she spreads herself out with abandon and will go out of her way to fart in your face in revenge for you deliberately doing so.

My rescue cat also went through a bit of a change. She was a small and shy kitten that was usually quiet. I’ve had her for about a year now, she is now the most annoying and noisy little brat I’ve ever had to deal with. I love her to death, but, she basically screams constantly and hardly sleeps. She’s perfectly healthy but freaks out every time she doesn’t see me.
As a norwegian, hearing Oz try to say ‘hælvete vi kjørte ut av smøren’ sent me into the BIGGEST fit of laughter I have ever had. I almost choked on my chocolate.

Half Norwegian here, It honestly sounded really funny and cute. Funny thing is my family actually moved back to Norway at the end of 2010. I honestly don’t even remember hearing anything about the butter crisis. I lived on the Vestlandet at the time so maybe it was not an issue there. And also I was like 8 then so maybe that’s why.

The part of Brazil that got snow was the states of the South (This includes the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina and Paraná (I'm from Paraná :D)) However, not all cities had snow! This is due to a lot of variables but mostly because, even though the South is the coldest área of Brazil, are actually kinda hot! Like my city :D! And to have snow you need a few things, including :
- High umidity in the atmosphere
- And the atmosphere MUST be cold enough to freeze water! When this happens, water molecules freeze forming snow flakes! These snow flakes then fall making snow :)
So the cities that got snow, and generally the most of it (even though it wasn't like snow in some places of the world, it was just enough to make Chernobyl Olafs that look like they are screaming and pleading to someone end there miserable existence) was the one closest to South (the South of the South of South America lmao) were actually, in some places, actually have snow in some times of there year if certain conditions are met!

The question about how mermaids taste made me think about how I once got into a somewhat heated discussion about whether mermaids are fish or mammals. I argued that they are mammals because their fins move up and down while swimming in the same way dolphines' and whales' fins do (in contrast to fish who swim by moving their fins side to side), while the other guy claimed they're fish because they have scales and mammals don't.
We could not come to an agreement on what these mythological creatures are.

Me, a humble Norwegian, am laughing my ass off at oz’s attempt to say Kjørte and Smøren. He kind of sounds danish IMO. But it wasn’t a horrible attempt at saying it, its just the fact that we have 3 more letters that make it difficult i guess. ÆØÅ are hard to pronounce when you have never heard of them

I remember it, it was really devastating i was really young and had butter on toast every morning, so i protested against my mom trying to feed me any thing else. I only liked the meieri smøret... so when she tried to give me melange i had some big tantrums as well.

Well, the butter crisis had to do with tarriffs on imported butter, so maybe it's something like that, or maybe there was some sort of chicken disease that wiped out a whole bunch of cluckers.

The last one gets me because our class once had a super grumpy old science teacher who never let anyone go to the toilet and so one day the douche of the class brought a kettle in his school bag. He asked to go to the bathroom and when the teacher obviously refused he pulled a whole kettle out of his bag that he had been carrying for about 4 HOURS in there and threatened to piss in it. Funniest shit that happened that year and we were always allowed to go to the bathroom in science after that.
