I love how Harry's giving Snape that dirty look all like "see I told you I didn't steal from your storage."
I know it was the only funny thing in this scene
@@kylerawa 0:51
To be fair snape had every right to think Harry had done it because 2 years ago him and Hermione stole boomslang skin from his office to make Polyjuice Potion.
It's funny, but imo also a little bit unrealistic to somebody be in this childish-dirty mood 20 minutes after watching Voldemort returned and killed his so called friend
@@peterszabo3407 I agree, book Harry would have never
Ok, but can we talk about the real Moody's first words to Dumbledore being "I'm sorry, Albus". Man was kidnapped, tortured and imprisoned in a literal trunk, and his first thought upon being freed is to apologize to his friend for seemingly letting him down. Shows both Moodys character, as well as how close he and Dumbledore truly are.
Also the fact that Dumbledore instantly knew the real Moody wouldn’t do something like this as his first question to Crouch was “are you Allister Moody? Where is he?” Dumbledore couldn’t fathom Moody helping Voldemort so he instantly knew it was an imposter.
Also in the book The real Moody was described as lying unconscious.
@@lukedaley17Yah, but in the visual medium, I think this works better... I expected him to be unconscious... but seeing him in a prison just felt so much cooler

Snape already demonstrated this in the second movie/book - Not only did he disarm Lockhart, but also knocked him back several feet.
I love how mcgonagall snape and dumbledore are so protective with Harry.
They still need Harry to die to Voldemort-
But McGonagall is protective because he’s in her house
Snape is protective only because he has to be, not because he wants to. And cause of Lily
And Albus needs Harry to die to Voldemort alone
ikr
And also because he is a 14 year old kid with trauma an adult man trying to kill him.
Thijs i think Mcgonagol is protective because she genuinely cares
Snape cares because Harry has Lily’s eyes, McGonagall cares because that’s the type of person she is and she cares for Harry, and Dumbledore cares because he’s Dumbledore.
I really LOVE the fact that Severus is right besides Dumbledore in almost every serious situation. It really shows how much Dumbledore trusts and respects Severus.
Yes! And how protective Snape is of Harry, for Lily.
trust? lmao is that why he never even told Snape about the horcruxes or. what? No, he did not trust Snape because he respected him. He trusted him because he knew he was so obsessed with a dead woman and guilt, he'd do anything.
@@sandiego2380 he obviously told Snape about the Horcruxes. When Dumbledore told him that a part of Voldemort lived inside Harry, Snape immediately knew that Harry was gonna die, implying that Dumbledore had already informe Severus that the only way to defeat Riddle was by destroying every part of his soul

I love how pissed Snape is here at Crouch. Stealing from his stores, helping Voldemort return. And this is the same night he had to go to Voldemort and start the double agent act.
This is one of the most intense scenes in the books. This is the first time we see Dumbledore, not as the kind old man Harry had grown to know, but indeed the most powerful wizard in the world who is incredibly angry that an evil person had taken one of his students.
As well as harmed and impersonated one of his closest allies and friends.

Yes. I was so disappointed when they didn’t include that in the film.
It’s so crazy the amount of things from the book that weren’t in this movie. I read somewhere they were going to make goblet of fire a two part movie but obviously didn’t end up going through with it. I really wish they did seeing how much I loved this book
@@buryingthepast and why would they need to include that? It doesnt help the story at all, It would ruin the pacing of the scene horrible and even tho its better when characters are 3 dimensional, the story doesnt need Barty JR to be like that, making this film even worse than what already is
@@buryingthepast There's literally so much in the books it's hard to fit everything. It would like an 7-8 hour movie otherwise.
@@buryingthepast MASSIVE disappointment.
You know I can’t imagine how traumatic it must’ve been for Harry. Mere moments ago he witnessed the brutal murder of a schoolmate and the rebirth of his parent’s killer. Just when he thought he’s returned to safety was then immediately betrayed by such revelation. He was bloody 14, Jesus.
And to mention Harry blood sacrifice to bring my dark Lord Voldemort

McGonagall, Snape, and Dumbledore had the best trio imo.
So true....
I was actually rereading this scene very recently and Barty had major effects on all three: McGonagall was close to crying, Snape only said one sentence the whole scene, and Dumbledore was so mad Harry understood why Voldemort feared him. Powerful scene for one of the earlier books.
@@buddyobbard2176 IKR....books are best and movies are just full of interpretations

@@buddyobbard2176 ik u k ik we all know who read the books
Brendan Gleeson’s portrayal of Mad-Eye was perfect. He came out EXACTLY as I imagined him in the books. HP is one of very few series that casted the performers so wonderfully. Everyone looks and sounds just like they should.
I also like the fact that the longer he goes on, the more his speech pattern sounds like David Tennant's rather than Brendan Gleeson. It's a quick but great way to foreshadow the impostor's identity.
People don’t realise how talented Crouch Jr was, criminally underrated:
Achieved 12 O.W.Ls whilst at Hogwarts (Hermione got 10 and was the brightest in her year)
First escapee of Azkhaban in 300 years
Despite his magic being rusty after being locked up and then being under the imperius curse by his dad, he managed to infiltrate Hogwarts undetected, sabotage the triwizard tournament and actually be a great/competent albeit scary teacher
Wasted talent, had he not joined death eaters as a teenager he could of accomplished much more imo
Lol he was a great teacher, but man scary was an understatement!
Showing you there is thin borderline between being genius and crazy..
Voldemort and a lot of his death eaters are known to be smart and genius student as well, not to mention the legendary wizard Grindelwald also fits too..
And now he's dead! (Most likely)
The Azkaban escape thing was because dad and mom decided to do him one last favor.

can anyone explain to me what he meant by “Personally, I’ve never had much time for heroes”? I don’t get it
@@smythejane7345
The way he neglected Harry, who is a hero of this story. I think it is an unintentional meta joke. He never had time for Harry.
Reward him for killing Harry? Voldemort wants nothing more than end his life completely on his own. I think he'd kill Barty right on the spot if he did.
At that point Barty was voldemorts best man, I am sure he would've forgive him
@Alfa&Omega 00000 yes, voldemort does forgive, if it is for his own benefit. He did forgive many Death Eaters after he returned - otherwise he needed to kill at least 90% of them.
Furthermore, Voldy never mentioned to Barry crouch it that he wanted to kill harry himself
Who else remembers this in the book. Dumbledore was properly fucking angry and almost unhinged. Harry could see why Voldemort was intimidated by him. This scene is still very good though. He looks pretty pissed off at 1:50.
Wait a minute! I think Barty here might be crazy!
Barty Crouch was the embodiment of the ideal death eater.
2:23 It’s honestly cool how he can just identify which type of potion it is based on just the smell
Potions master for you
I wish Barty was in more movies. He was a wonderful villain.
Dumbledore should've just shoved him to the wall and been all like "Moody, did you put Harry's name into the Goblet of Fire?!"
I find it amazing how, ironically, they seemed to have changed Dumbledore's mood in these two scenes compared to the books.
I haven't read them, sadly, but apperantly Dumbledore was really calm and composed when asking Harry if he put his name on the Goblet of Fire, while being extremely livid and rageful when confronting the revealed Barty Crouch Jr here.
But the movie seems to have swapped his mood. He's desperate when asking Harry the question and he's pretty composed and in control during this scene. :\
@@MrDibara My theory on why Dumbledore was depicted the way he was in this film, was because the director thought he should be like Gandalf. In interviews, Mike Newell has admitted to not having seen any of the previous films or read any of the previous books. I think he just assumed that Dumbledore should act just like Gandalf by design (both being wise old wizards and all). No wonder fans call him Mike Nitwit.
That would've been funny
@@MrDibara In the book Dumbledore realises immediately as soon as Barty takes Harry to his office and follows with Snape and McGonagall. Dumbledore blasts his office door open with such force it knocks Barty Jr out and Dumbledore's facial expression is described as livid. Dumbledore tells Harry there is no way that man is Alastor Moody because the real one wouldn't have removed Harry from Dumbledore's sight. Dumbledore then discovers the real Mad Eye and tells Snape to get him the strongest dose of Veritaserum he has and asks McGonagall to get Winky (the Crouch family house elf now working at Hogwarts) and bring her to the office. Dumbledore then calms down and questions Barty Jr who tells him everything from his escape, to re-entering Voldemort's service and how he fooled him into believing he was Mad Eye for the entire year.

Ikr!!! That was what I was thinking!!!! 😂😭
Really deep down. He cared for Harry to a degree, he just didn't express it and want to admit it to himself.
true
he was insensitive towards the students, he showed them illegal spells, he outright defied the ministry, he helped the most dangerous dark wizard come back to life. And yet
He was a better teacher than Umbridge could ever dream of being.
He at least was a convincing enough teacher to fool everyone.
To some odd degree, despite him doing it partly to keep up the guise, Crouch also seemed to really be into his role as Moody. He seemed to actually have something of a real respect for his students and Harry.
He taught them the unforgivable curses, and in the book he even trained the students to resist Imperius, with positive results, especially for Harry.
It's like, despite his allegiance to the Dark Lord, he also wanted the kids (especially Harry) to have a fighting chance, so he bolstered them against the kind of dark magic Voldemort used so they would understand it better and Harry would be able to give Voldemort more of a combative challenge.
Crouch didn't want Harry facing Voldemort looking like a pansy, he wanted to deliver a trained boy to Voldemort who was more ready for a fight. If anything, it would have made Voldemort's desired victory over Harry that much more meaningful.
@@Bro-cx2jc the funny thing is (for me at least), Crouch is the one death eater who stayed loyal to Voldemort till the end that I genuinely feel sorry for. His time as Moody proved that he had the potential to do great things for the world.
Had he made the right choices early on in life he could have gone far as an educator. Even after the Cat came out of the bag students like Dean Thomas regarded him as one of their best teachers.
Also even if he legit taught the Dark Arts like the Carrows did he would have been leagues above them since he would have taught students that the Dark Arts is a tool that must be handled carefully and respected. The Carrows probably just taught them dangerous spells without considering the collateral damage they would cause - hence leading to the Diadems destruction.

@@jeckjeck3119 Obviously it doesn't make up for it but my point was that subjecting Harry to that abuse is definitely not what Dumbledore had in mind/what he wanted.
That's why he was disappointed how Dursley's had treated Harry.

They wrote him a letter that said 'to Harry Potter who lives in a cupboard'. No red flags there, oh greatest wizard after Merlin? The old man knew.
"now we know whos been stealing from your stores severus"
looks straight at harry hahaha
This has gotta be one of the best "Someone turns out to be someone else" scenes in cinema
The dread Tennant sets up is so well done "You know what this means don't you he's back".
Severus Snape is a legend. The look Alan Rickman gives is fabulous. No one can replace Alan Rickman. Great man.
I wish they had kept Gambon playing Dumbledore as a calm and collected person throughout.
Because throughout the first three books, we hear from others how powerful dumbledore is and we hear others' description of him getting angry.
But in the books, this is the first time we see him in all his power. Harry understands for the first time why dumbledore is the only person to ever scare Voldemort by the way he disarms crouch.
They wanted to make him like Gandalff
I know right? One Stupify spell knocked JR. for a while until after the polyjuice wore.
This is the wildest and most confusing regeneration doctor who ever had.

Snape is like “do you know what you’ve done,
You helped bring back the Man that killed the only women I’ve ever loved”
"...and almost had her only son killed"
What about snapes mom didn’t he love her
Jimin Slays nah, in the books it’s shown that snape had a pretty poor childhood. He probably cares as much about his mom as Harry cares about Petunia.
Yeaaaaaa ikr
@@jiminslays9304 I suppose he means romantically?
1:29 Dumbledore was like “FBI OPEN UP!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
the way dumbledore says expelliarmus and comes in so fast makes me laugh for some reason
Dam Dumbledore opened that door and entered like a highly trained swat team raiding a drughouse lmao
2:28, look at harry’s face, it’s like he’s telling snape, “you see?!” when dumbledore concluded barty crouch jr was the one who stole the potion
regeneration it's a lottery
OOPS I’M WEARING SANDSHOES
@@celsius5101 OH YEAH CHINNY?
Me coming back here is a sign that I am REALLY deep into my David Tennent obsession.
I'm in the same boat
I've only recently started obsessing over David Tennant's acting but even as a kid, his small performance as Barty JR always impressed me
Imagine if he had more screen time. It would probably be similar to Kilgrave in Jessica Jones. Such a great actor and the best Doctor
0:53 the way he mimics harry voice 😂😂🤣
Hahaha, so true!
And the sound Harry really made listen carefully 😸
But but he he
At 3:49, I like how Crouch Jr. is only afraid of Snape in this moment.
Well makes sense seeing as he's the only one left in the room at that point.
The fact that David Tennant made up that whole tongue thing for that character 😂
Impressed that Barty crouch is not afraid to say voldemorts name, he must have been really high up in death eaters
Can we just give some props to McGonagall here for actually caring about the traumatised 14yr old in the room? 😂
She was literally the only one and Molly who didn't forget Harry was just a child
1:28 notice how Dumbledore casts a Disarming Charm so powerful it blasts through a thick door AND sends Barty Crouch jr flying across the room
Probably due to being in posession of the elder wand.
@@retrogamelover2012 That and even before he had the Elder Wand, Dumbledore was still an exceptionally powerful wizard.
Combination of Dumbledoor + elder wand + crouch being weakened from poly juice running out
You people are dumb the wizard uses the wand matters actually
@@seanking6184 polyjuice potion doesn't weaken
Dumbledores strangling skills are just next level
Even when he's the villain I still love David Tennant
Snape is just so caring for Harry even though he hated his father
OMG, the box is bigger on the inside.
extension charm
@@may7955 I think you didn't get the joke
*Smaller on the outside
Not even an Easter egg tho
Bigger inside? what you even talking about? I have one the same size in my room...
And they don't even know he's the Doctor.
I love how when Harry and Ron used the polyjuice potion they returned normal again without pain, screams or something graphic and here it seems like a fucking nightmare
They didn’t have to regrow an eye
Well they were only using it for an hour, whereas Barty Crouch Jr was using it for months, so imo it seems like the longer you’re on it, the more painful your transformation back into your own self it will be 🤷🏿♂️
