- Simon in the Holden Colorado C7 and a few mates venture back into the Mt Robertson State Forest to take on the infamous Battery Spur Track! It's a wet and wild day of bogholes and mudtracks as a long descent takes the convoy into the depths of the Hazeldene valley where a steep and sudden climb stands between them and lunch. A broken Colorado CV forces the team into 2wd, turning the offroad adventure into an extreme challenge. And there's one unexpected bog hole to master before we can air up! Watch to see what breaks, who winches and how we spend almost a whole day with a busted CV on one of Vic's notorious offroad tracks!
Stay tuned till the end of the video for a hidden blooper.

You know its really a testament to Holden that these guys have put this car through and it still somehow moves haha. Thanks for the episode again boys. I reckon you guys should come up to Queensland more
They have definitely had a tough life! We are just back from filming in Qld 👊
All good and well to see solid axles and big tyres, BUT it's great seeing the budget IFS vehicles and their underestimated capabilities.
It seems that CV’s are very common breaks. And that one didn’t look like it was under a lot of stress. Gets me worried about snapping mine in the bush in my Discovery 3. Might be a good idea to learn how to replace them in the bush if need be. Great video again 🍻👍🇦🇺
It's not hard to change them, it is just greasy dirty work and the spares are heavy. But yes spot on, it didn't;t take much to break it.
That CV didn't look like it was under much load ?? Great trip though !! 👍
yes was shocked to see it break like that.
Nice to see a Colly 7 in the mud. What has been done to it?
Thank you for watching and asking. The C7 has an extra 100Nm of torque through the entire range and 30% more power. It has a lot of gear added, so here is the short list: ARB bull bar, cayman rear bar, Dpchip, Ultimate 9 EVC, intercooler, exhaust, roof rack, ARB air lockers, VRS winch, Roadsafe diff drop, Narva lighting front, rear, sides, under and over, RidePro suspension, Cooper Tyres, snorkel, awning, 184L long range tank, Donaldson fuel filter, Water Watch, etc...
How can you trust a "4x4" the blows CV's in such a simple situation
As the driver who got the car stuck, want to donate a "Super Thanks". I Swear I'll convince Simon to add the funds to a new camera car and then I promise to break the CV of that one too
Probably was on its last legs, even solid axle 4wds can break CVs and hubs. They are designed to break near the hub. CVs only cost a couple of hundred bucks to fix. Rather have the CV break near the hub than send a shock load to the diff and gearbox.
@@aslkdfjhg ran many 4x4s. Last real 4x4 I had was a Gu twin locked on 37s, Tb48 with cams.
No issues. GQ patrol SWB, no issues.
MQ patrol, no issues
Crap dual cab "4x4s" breaks cv in mud barely turning the wheel. But yeah, all 4x4s will break CV's
@@DarrenBoxhall Patrols are well known for the toughest drive lines. We have still seen them break stacks of CVs but in situations way way tougher than how this one went.👊
mud mud glorious mud ! 🏞️😎📹🤙🛻
no shortage this episode 😂😂😂
