    Love the rig mate and thanks for doing a rundown. I am building up my collie and interested in your final weight. Will you upgrad your GVM?

    • @LowRange4X4Adventures
      @LowRange4X4Adventures  Před 2 lety +2

      Hey Brett, thanks for your comment, to answer your question we are right up on our GVM when fully loaded with trailer attached, we looked into a GVM upgrade however without doing full suspension upgrade to another brand that offers a GVM upgrade with it we could only get an upgrade if about 150kg and decided it wasn’t worth spending the money.

      Hey mate, thanks for the feedback, clutch was replaced at around 105K with Heavy Duty 4WD clutch with single mass flywheel, is does vibrate a bit now which can get annoying but after doing a couple of dual mass fly wheels it was the only choice

    Nice here i was thinking my Collo wasnt up to it... keeping it now,
    Can we ask did the 17" rims need to be offset to miss the chassis when turning with those tyres on? or did the chassis end bit behind the front wheel need to be cut?

  • @danielsherratt4022
    @danielsherratt4022 Před rokem +1

    Did you need to cut any body mounts for your tyres and do you get much rubbing?

    • @LowRange4X4Adventures
      @LowRange4X4Adventures  Před rokem +1

      Hey Daniel, we did the standard front body mount mod to stop the wheels rubbing when turning, we also have a 1" Munji body lift which helps as well. We rarely get any rubbing at all, about the only time is when out on the tracks and on serious angles but it used to rub when doing that even before the bigger tyres.

      All good thank you. We got a dual cab with a tray, and I suggested to my wife to take out the rear seat and make something similar. She didn't think that was a good idea, but now I can show her something. I've made a canopy for it, cause I'll like to take a gokart with me, so I can try out some dirt tracks around Australia.

    Hey, what battery mount/battery are you running in engine bay??

    • @LowRange4X4Adventures
      @LowRange4X4Adventures  Před 2 lety

      We have a battery mount set in behind the start battery which requires the movement of the ECU to mount it. This was done by TJM when the car was brand new, it is a Battery Frame Colorado Diesel - Optima D34 PIRBTHCRGD and the ECU Bracket is Computer Mount Bracket Suit RG Colorado PIRCMHCRGD. We have run an Optima Yellow top in this cradle since new and the first on lasted for 6 years running the fridge and lighting in the canopy when required, this battery was still good however the battery terminal failed on it and the battery was replaced in December last year and is going strong now that we are on the road full time and use it every day with the fridge running 24/7. let me now if you need any further info.

    • @LowRange4X4Adventures
      @LowRange4X4Adventures  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey bud, yeah there was a bit of weight up top, it seemed to handle it well, however we have since reorganized and gotten rid of the rhino case and just have the swag up there with the other peripherals still on the side, we also plan to relocate the Maxtrax to the top rear flat on the Rhino Rack Pioneer platform so so total weight up there once this is all done should be less then 60kg approximately.

      Hey Mate, they are a set I got through eBay way back in the beginning, they have been great, I guess the best way to go today is to use the Grunt ones they are on special for $89 at the moment, you can also get tailgate ones that both slow drop and assist raise.
