Great information. Thanks for showing us the options with the 3D risers. I've been using the medium-sized clamp-on PUIG spoiler tilted in an almost vertical position atop my stock windscreen with the windscreen in the upper stock adjusted mounting position. It seems to work pretty well for me. It's nice to know your results with the 3D risers though.... I still want to take a long road trip to really know how my setup works....
Hey guys, I goofed up on two things. 1. The risers are NOT 3D printed, they're machined out of HDPE. 2. The RAM mount was supposed to be mounted directly to the gps mount first, and the buzz-kill should be mounted directly to the GPS.

I had these on my Gen 3 and switched to the billet adjustable ones from ADV Farmer. They are the bomb when coupled with a V Stream shield

Puig Ninja 1000 windscreen from Amazon does the trick with these risers. Same bolt pattern. Slightly wider and can be had in clear or smoked. Game changer for me.

@@SwankyCatProductionsdid you ever mount this setup? What are your thoughts? I love my new KLR 650, except for the windshield. I am 6’1” and the wind at highway speeds is brutal. Need a wider/taller windshield. Glad to have found this video.
My son and I put National Cycle tall V Stream windshields on our '22 KLR Adventures. We're both 6'1". We've had em on 6 months now. They keep the wind over our heads. His developed a crack at one of the mounting points. They are warranted for 3 yrs so, National Cycles excellent customer service promptly shipped out a new one. Thank u for this informative vid sir. Based on your note I just installed this windshield on my ‘23 KLR Adventure. The issue I am having is that it vibrates like hell at a certain RPM. I note that the tolerance is tight at the bottom edge on one side between windshield and bike. Going to get some rubber or nylon washers to push out the windshield by 1/8” to see if that cures the problem. Wondering if you experienced the same?
I am 6’1” and I just clear the top of the windshield enough to clear the top line of sight.
The ‘23 KLR adventure has a different height position to put the windshield about 2” higher. I would state at the lowest setting, I could do 55 mph before getting wind buffeted with the stock windshield. With the stock windshield raised over 2” I could do about 63 mph. With this new tall V stream I was doing 75 and feeling pretty good. So, much improved, except that vibration at certain rpm’s. Thanks for posting this feedback.
@GPBAMB yeah vibration is an issue on thumpers, hence rubber mounted this and that on KLR's. I also placed nylon washers on the mounting points but only to dampen vibration, nonetheless, vibrations coming through the windshield is disconcerting for me. I keep an eye for crax on the mounting points. Also, I have a "Seat Concepts" touring saddle on my KLR. It lowers me about 1"-1.5". Thank u and enjoy the ride!
@@1219magnum just put the 1/16” rubber washers on to push out the windshield. All good. The windshield is now a keeper. Cranked it to 80mph, but truthfully felt the wind. More so from the sides rather than the top. Much better than the stock windshield.

I love the windshield risers so much, to my dismay I broke mine the other day after I dropped the bike in a bad spot off-road. The windshield got caught on a tree branch and snapped the risers apart. I just ordered another set of risers which are now on the way. The bike has a really different feeling with the risers at higher speed and definitely makes an impact for me.
Oh no! Yeah I can definitely see that happening to me too lol I'm sure it won't be long. Definitely worth it though!
Sounds like you had an early set that was 3d printed. Email me some pics of the broken ones and both order numbers and I'll refund you for the replacements.

You could put a shim at bottom of bracket the wind screen attached to would tiltthe wind screen back at what ever amount u make shim for..

I put on a VStream Mid height wind screen. I have had it 6 months now and unfortunately it is cracking from one of the lower screw mounts. Having said that I'm hoping 3D Cycles will warranty it out for me. I can say that it works super good on road but for off road it is too tall for my liking unless I am standing up. Down the road I may switch to the Original when I know I will going off road and also depending how far I will be traveling on road to go off roading. VStream has 3 heights so the lowest height may be better for off roading because it does stand up straighter then the stock, its wider and a bit taller than stock. I am not sure though it can with stand the vibration for off roading.
Got my lowered front fender on the Gen 2 from UFO. They may have one for the Gen 3.
I think they should make it adjustable, it works but it also looks stupid standing straight up lol, a little more lean angle and it would still work, create a little less drag, and wouldn't look dorky on the bike.
Just got my 23 klr adventure last Thursday. Can you recommend a windscreen to go along with those brackets, that will decrease the wind more than the stock screen? There a few options on the 3d website, what would you recommend? I’m just getting back into riding and the klr is my first “adventure “ bike!
I just realized it is you that I have passed a few times rolling through there!! I drive an orange Toyota FJ Cruiser, will have to watch for you my next trip through there in a few weeks!! What trails are you riding in the area? I was not aware of there being any in that area open to public.
Oh yeah? Haha that's funny, I'll have to keep an eye out too. The trails were in the Embarrass River OHV park in Tigerton. They actually allow midsized trucks and SUVs on the trails there too most days.
@@SwankyCatProductions well when I get my new bike...just totaled my klr this morning. Hit a deer at 50-55mph. God kept me on the bike!! But my whole body hurts! I will have to go check those trails out!
Great video. What is the Frame sliders/Engine protection you have on it? I haven't seen one's that go that high and provide as much protection.

Installed the 3D windscreen extenders today. Definitely didn't overtighten the windshield. Windshield cracked on all 4 screws. Used the threadlocker. I like the new windshield position but I would not recommend the extenders. 05-07-2024.
Cracked the shield itself? Yeah I can see that, the plastic washers the factory uses are pretty useless. You essentially have to get them finger tight and hope for the best 🤣
I'm 6'6" and didn't even adjust my screen. I have no issues

Yo swank do you have any experience with KLR DASH? I like their lower dash insert but idk if it will work on newer KLR. Website isn’t very informative so just asking. Man I had a tall windshield on my HD and I had to cut it. I couldn’t get used to the edge in my eye line, I like it just below it.
I've never actually used the lower dash from them but I did have the upper one on my Gen2. I almost want to say there's less room on the gen3 and that it wouldn't fit, but I could be wrong?

What pannier rack for soft bags would you recommend for the KLR 650 2023?
I've actually got the Tusk racks and soft bags in a box waiting for me to install them. Hopefully I'll get to it either this weekend or next.
@@SwankyCatProductions Thanks. I’ve been checking out the tusk racks. But I have a concern-the bar crossing around the rear seems to be blocking the view of the license plate and the light for the plate. Is the cross bar really important? The dirt racks pannier rack doesn’t have the cross bar.
In regards to highway riding, I would like the bike to run at 65 MPH and the RPM a little lower, do you have any knowledge on putting a 16 tooth on the front??
I've never geared a KLR down or up. Off road I always wish it was geared lower and on the highway I wish it was higher. So I just leave it as is haha.
