    4:10 Hey Ben, you need to heat those up until the sleeve disappears. That sleeve is a ring of solder. When it gets hot enough, it melts into the wire strands and "solders" the wires together. Since I can still see the ring (sleeve), it means they aren't properly soldering the wires together.

    Riding a KLR on ice. What could possibly go wrong? The new lights are great.

    Those solder connectors looked pretty cool, never seen that before!

      They are! I've been using them a little more and figured out you just need to trim the wire down a bit more and you don't end up with the stray strands.

    I might be wrong but the link you provided for the Posi-lock is for an in-line connecter. Not one that taps into a live wire that’s not cut

    Nice, the current Amazon lights I have for my KLR I'm not a fan at all. Those connections you have are butt ties. They are used a lot in aviation, really good connection

    • @SwankyCatProductions
      @SwankyCatProductions  Před rokem +1

      Butt Ties?! Haha. They definitely seem to work every well, not to hard to install either.

      @@SwankyCatProductions No sir not at all. We usually chuckle when Avionics says the name haha. super easy to use., and very durable. Do you get credit for people buying those lights? Your review made me impulse buy lol thanks dude :) 🚁✈🏎🏍

    Hey man I hope this reaches you well, I used your links to purchase the lights and tools associated with installation for the klr 650 build you did, I wanted to ask if you tucked that entire long thick harness up in the fairing or if you cut and shortened it, as I said before I got the very same lights you did.

    • @SwankyCatProductions
      @SwankyCatProductions  Před měsícem +1

      Nice! Thank you! I think I chopped a bit off the switch line, but left the entire mess of wires down by where the harness plugged into the bikes original wiring.

      @@SwankyCatProductions I did pretty much the same, got it all buttoned up last night, btw wanted to let you know you played a big part in my decision to buy this new klr, almost had it a month now and love it so far, first dual purpose bike.

    • @SwankyCatProductions
      @SwankyCatProductions  Před 4 měsíci

      Similar, you just need to find the high beam wire. I believe I connected to mine on my old Gen2, under the tank.
