I definitely agree with some of the things that were pointed out - I have a 2017 Renegade Sport 2.4L, I'm single, no pets, no kids and all I really do is haul my mountain bike around, fits me well - go to work, hang out with friends, it's all good - I do like the styling of the Renegade, it's shaped like a toaster, but i like it - it's comfortable and a relatively smooth ride - it's no speed demon by all means, but I do have a pedal controller which makes it pretty fun to drive lol

I love my Jeep Renegade. I'm a realtor. It fits clients comfortably. I can also gold the back seat down for my signs/other Realty stuff I have to haul around sometimes! The seats wipe off very easily. I get a lot of compliments on it. The front is super roomy. And it's amazing for camping! I have the 4x4 latitude in black

I have a 2015 1.4L Turbo. I've had a few electrical issues with the check engine light. I think the electricity is getting wet from a downpour rain. I just undo the battery and the issue goes away. However; I will say with the standard gearbox and turbo it zips in and out of traffic in the northeast.

@@BrizzleHizzle I ordered one just last monday ! Mine is now due to 16th of april :)
I actually had some other issues to take care of, like finishing the renovation of my house etc and was actually rolling around in an older Ford transit connect 2-seater. I always did maintenance myself, but now lately it started to choke on a failing turbo. Still keeping it though, mainly because of the dogs etc , but I'll need to restore it completely.
Wanted to wait until the summer, but I just don't trust to Ford anymore and just had to order a new one.
I ordered a sport basemodel, here in Belgium it comes with a 120bhp 1.0 T3 petrolengine and unfortunately no option for a 4x4. Then again I choose the basemodel, since, like 'Nomad' said in the video , you can do whatever you want with it. The aftermarket support for it is amazing!
I already have a bunch of optional stuff here for when it comes in, including fe. tha oem roofrails, sidebars and bullbar and a roofrack with ladder etc...also thinking about going for the 2" liftkit. But since it's mainly a citycar, besides the occasionally trips to the outdoors, not having the 4x4 isn't a big thing for us.
This model though, you really can fit it to your own needs and personality and that's why I fell in love with it.
A friend of mine also bought one last year and has nothing but positives to say about it :)

    @Pr1ma_Gonzalez Před 5 lety +1

I own one as well. Limited, MySky, Navigation, upgraded entertainment center, everything it could possibly come equipped with. My husband and I rented a mid level Latitude on our honeymoon in Puerto Rico and enjoyed it so much we went and bought a brand new one just a couple months later. I traded in a 2009 Infiniti FX 35 which was a sporty tank. I wish the Renegade had a slightly bigger engine or more power. I almost killed myself the first day I drove it to work and tried to pull out into traffic. I was used to my monster engine and when hitting the gas nothing really happened in the Jeep. I love the look, particularly when freshly cleaned up, the windows all down, and the roof panels removed. We live in a beach area so it fits the aesthetic here in Florida. I don't know if the Latitude we rented was a bit swifter or it is just my imagination? I definitely won't ever try and dart out into traffic again. Which is tough as we live in a very densley populated area. It has also been back at the dealer for various things going wrong. Less than 20,000 miles and the entire MySky panel system and track had to be replaced. The powered front panel kept getting stuck because the motor died out. The engine is currently being pressure tested for excessive oil consumption. I would proceed with caution on this one. When they are good, they're great. When bad, they're a terrible disappointment.

What a great video, thanks bro. I know is Sep 2019 but I'm thinking of getting a compact crossover and the renegade has something that I like, maybe because a couple of years ago before I had kids i owned a two door wrangler and ot was a blast and I love boxy vehicles. I currently own a hyundai Elantra that is lease and it's what I used for my daily commute and my wife drive the larger sonata since she always have the kids so when though I have a family, my kids dokt used rear facing carseats and only a booster and living in SoCal that size would fit the bill. Plus I grew up in a poor family and had small cars that were only.meant for 4 people but at least 6 were always in, so I'm not like those fancy people who want a stadium inside, as a matter of fact, I like compact cars. Has it been reliable? That's the only thing that is keeping me from buying one. In my area the almost basic models, not the sport I think they are called latitude come with the basics that I need, for $17!!! Brand new, plus tax

As a middle aged person with a family of four, this Jeep works perfectly for me. I also use my Renegade for overlanding, but I admittedly have done a few mods to my Trailhawk. The cargo room is limited but nothing a roof basket couldn't fix. This little Jeep has gone everywhere I have asked it too which at times have been a bit extreme. Handled like the little beast it is. Over all great review. Well done.

Wes Potter @or7therenegade on IG. I have some pics there of the hitch cargo. I've pulled a regular trailer also. Does just fine. Of course we are under powered, so even just an empty trailer slows us down quite a bit. The hitch cargo, though, is easy to get to than basket, and doesn't affect aero Dynamics either.

Used to own this vehicle. It's a cool little car with good mpg for 4WD, with rugged exterior and stylish interior, but I think mine got dropped on its head in the factory. A year into ownership the transmission started to slip. Acceleration can be sluggish. The front touchscreen stopped working and the cup holder lights went out.(If you buy this car make sure it's under warranty). Besides that I had fun driving this car to Colorado for the mountain views.
Little back story, this vehicle is technically an American/Italian fusion. This vehicle is manufactured in Melfi, Italy alongside the Fiat 500. Fiat bought Chrysler January 21st 2014.
If you're looking for a reliable Jeep buy an older Wrangler or Cherokee with low miles, (I used to own a 95 Jeep Grand Cherokee) or buy a Toyota 4runner. They are easy to work on, retain their resell value, and fun to mod. Happy trailing.

Great vid. I would add a few comments for people looking at the sport model. 7 months ago I purchased a 2017 jeep renegade sport, 4wd. I agree that this vehicle is great in the snow. And I do like how it looks and how it handles. What I dont like is that I did not realize the vast difference between the sport and the other models. There are no roof rails and it will take a bit of expense (@ $300)and doing to get some on. No trailer hitch. In watching several vids on this I realize I will need to replace the bumper and the kit runs around $500. And, as I found out the hard way, no spare tire, no jack, no lug wrench.- That cost me about $300 to buy - and the fact that they didnt come with the sport cost me a day's pay since I missed worked the day the tire blew. Also some sport models dont come with AC! My god, I am glad the one I bought comes with it. Altho the AC in my honda element was much colder. The other thing is that I really didnt realize, like he says in the video, just how small my little beast is. I can put one tote in the cargo area to take to recycling. Thats it. I have 2 dogs, so had tried keeping the back seat down for them, to give them more room, but my one shepard mix couldnt stand up with the seat down! There is that little of space from folded seat to roof. So I ended up just keeping the seat up and he fits better that way. So tiny as hell, this is! I do alot of highway driving and average around 27mpg. If I had it to do over, I certainly would have gone for a model with roof rails and a trailer hitch. And if I could have afforded a wrangler, that is what I most certainly would have bought. But, it is a jeep. I could afford it. It looks sharp and more importantly handles the snow and logging trails pretty good. I will love it more once I am able to get roof rails on it and a tow hitch.

I am serious about buying a renegade. Jeep is offering great discounts of $5k until 01/31/18. But your comment about uncomfortable seats threw me off. That's a killer for me. I see on the Jeep Website that the "Trailhawk" edition comes with 4 way adjustable lumbar with 8 way power seats. Did you get the manual seats instead of the power seats? Just dying to know. Thanks for your inspirational videos.

I’ve got a 2017 Trailhawk with manual seats. I don’t find the seat to be uncomfortable at all. My wife said it’s not uncomfortable, but it’s a different feeling. We’ve got 3 kids and the seating in back is a little tight. It would be better but I’ve got the driver seat pushed all the way back. It will fit adults, but leg room is next to nil.

I am now planning on trading in my Ford Focus ST for another 2017 or 2018 Jeep Renegade Trailhawk again as I miss the vehicle and also how it can go on water without hesitating, meaning I don't have to drive around to get into a drive way to get to a restaurant if there is a small/medium size puddle. In the fall of 2017 I purchased a new 2017 Jeep Renegade from a dealer in Anchorage Alaska. I live in a remote Alaskan town with the closest mechanic over 100 miles away - in Canada. I made it clear to the dealer I needed a reliable, sturdy vehicle. The car was fine until the temperature dropped below 20F then it would start - and immediately stall with a noticeable smell of gas. I called the dealer and he recommended using Heet and blamed the bad gas in the town. Heet did nothing and no other car is having the same problem. The dealer is over 700 miles away and I can't have the car towed back. There's no one to work on it here and the dealer is unwilling to do anything more. The car is a princess car - it'll only run if it's warm and sunny. Which means i'm walking to work at 20 below. Moral is don't buy Jeep and don't buy a Jeep Renegade. As soon as possible I'm taking it to another town to trade it in for a Japanese or Korean car. Something reliable.
