  • My 2015 is back in the shop, and the loaner they gave me is a new 2018 Jeep Renegade Latitude so I figured we would take a look at what is new and different with the 2018 model year.

I have a 2018 Latitude and love it! It’s perfect for me and my little boy. I was in the market for a used Wrangler when I went into the Chrysler dealership and found out that I could get a brand new Renegade for less than the Wrangler I was there to see. What was important to me was comfort for me and my son and having four wheel drive. After factory rebates and dealer incentives I saved nearly $10k off the sticker price. No regrets here. I got everything I was looking for plus a warranty. Something I wouldn’t have gotten with the used car.

I have a 16 sport 4x4. Its been great to me, got 37k on it and i have kept up with the maintainance and i have no major problems with it. I do get the traction control bug when i take a hard left or right but it isnt that big of a deal. My brakes do grind, just the frons which i will be replacing soon. Other than those issues i love this little car. The 9 speed hasnt really caused any problems, does take a bit to pick a gear when i give it gas to pass someone. Gonna drive this baby until it explodes.love it.

I just bought a 2020 Renegade Limited (the one in my profile picture) and I am so happy. Next week on Saturday I am finally able to pick it up because I am free from work then. I actually drove 223 miles (and then 223 miles back to my home) to look at the car and buy it because I live in Germany and the All-Wheel Drive models without being a hybrid were just build until the 2020 model. So with the 2021 model, you can only get All Wheel Drive in Germany when you buy a hybrid. Since the charging network in Germany is terrible if you don't own a Tesla it was a no-brainer for me to get the car as an only gas option. This was the last one I could find that was completely new (less than 9 miles in it) and like I wanted it to be. So I drove there with my mother in her tiny Fiat Panda on the German Autobahn and we made it.
I am so happy. A Renegade like the one I bought is my dream car. And I got a brand new one after just getting my license in April. In Germany that's a big deal to be able to buy a brand new car that soon and since the Renegade is considered huge in Germany (remember the Panda my Mom has 😉), a huge one as well. I bought so many accessories for it, my whole desk is flooded with them 🤣
I just had to convert all kilometer stuff to miles. 🤣 Tell me why Americans don't use the metric system again? 🙈

Basic stuff. Still a very solid feeling. Excellent in snow with good snow tires, has handled everything Maine has to offer in the winter with ease. I ordered one few days back, completely standard sport colorado red version with the new 1.0 T3 engine. (only engine choice on the sport here in Belgium)
I really had a hard time with all the different trims and options , which in many cases just had alot of stuff I actually didn't want.
If I could I even would have bought it without an aircon.
Did love the wheels and some other features, but i really didn't like the parksensors etc, just don't need things like that.
Thing is though, and that's what I like the most about this brand/model..the aftermarket-options are so huge and you can easily find even the oem-parts pretty cheap aswell. So you can build it up just like you want it, that's also exactly what I'll do to it :)

More visibility with the pillars is a positive thing. As of the front, I thought they were going to change it in a new version. I prefer that one the trailhawk has. It looks stylish and adds better proportionality to the whole structure. They should've also changed the shape of the indicator lights to a stylish look. I see they are trying to make everything look like with the original Jeep after the image blunder with the Cherokee. But I think they shouldn't forget the competitors are using the style of this age, not the past. Take Landrover, for example, you can see the latest versions different from the now defunct Defender, etc. With the others (Nissan, Landrover, etc) it's all about the appeal today. In short, the Fiat/Chrysler guy should keep some elements of the original Jeep, but make others appealing to the current era.

Ignorance is somebody that is misinformed. Do your research- Chrysler Pacifica is one of the top ten cars to go over 200,00 miles. FYI, the Pentastar engine is very reliable and loved by people that own them. They put that engine in a lot of models, so take the time and drive one, read the reviews and stop spouting off just because you heard somebody say Chrysler is junk. FCA sells a lot of cars for a reason- people get value for their money.
