No, it’s not a typo. He has never heard this song. He only knows it’s bass riff from Vanilla Ice. He hears it for this first time here.

No one listens to Vanilla Ice anymore. Queen and Bowie will go on forever!
Yo drop that zero and give it to the hero.
Dudes...watch the live one. It's mind blowing.
It is not live it is a mash-up of Freddie at Wembley and then Bowie at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert. It is a very good mash-up though, Kudos to the person who put it together.
Never to be replicated....Freddie and David....❤❤
It's not a Queen song.
It's a Queen and David Bowie song.⚡
You must do Barcelona, Freddie and Montserrat Cabaye
Just so you guys aren’t shocked; their music has been used by hundreds of artists over the years.
You’re my Best Friend, Don’t stop me now, Fat Bottomed Girls. Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Killer Queen, Seven Seas of Rhye, Bicycle Race, Bohemian Rhapsody, Under Pressure, We Will Rock You, Another One Bites the Dust, We Are The Champions, I Want to Break Free, The Show Must go on, Radio Ga Ga, A Kind of Magic, Somebody to Love, I Want it All, One Vision, Flash Gordon Theme, These are the days of our lives, Living on my Own, etc.
The facts are that they didn’t ever write a bad song. Every single song was a smash, and you can’t take everyone to court over using samples.
The saddest part is that it was only the management that took Vanilla Ice to court. Queen as a band were actually flattered by people using their music & very much welcomed it.
There have been numerous dance remixes of Living on My own.
We are the champions & Another one bites the dust; were exclusively players at almost every sports venue in the western world.
You’re my best friend has been used in more movies in modern cinema than any other song in history.
You’ll actually have heard of a lot of their songs and just not realised it’s Queen.
Amazing legendary and hugely influential artists ❤
John Decon (bass) came up with the riff, warming up backstage before a concert and the others said. Keep that, we'll make something with that! The rest is history.
Duncan Jones is Bowie's son, and yes he is a film director. Bowie was such an icon for me growing up - a chameleon and so innovative. He wrote some amazing songs. Love your reactions as always
I was ten years old when Ice Ice Baby came out, and I don't think I'd ever heard Under Pressure at that time.
I remember through the 90s how funny it was when the opening riff came on the radio, you'd try and guess what they were playing. On the 'grown-up' stations, they'd be playing Under Pressure, but you'd be mouthing "Alright stop, collaborate and listen..." to yourself with a smile on your face. Then occasionally, they'd surprise you, and play Ice Ice Baby for a laugh. And nowadays, in the last five, ten years or so, you're just as likely to hear Mr Van Winkle as Mssrs Mercury and Bowie on these grown-up stations.
The fact remains, though, that that riff is just so iconic, it just grabs your attention, and you listen to the song. Classic.
Great shock reaction 😊
Queen -Innuendo
Steve Howe played the chromatic runs and the (exceptional) flourishes on the flamenco section, but most of the solo was still Brian (both the 'acoustic' and the 'electric' bits).
David bowie is one of the greatest artists of all time.i can't believe what I'm hearing hear
It was a studio collaboration , I don't think it was ever performed together but both did it live at gigs . I hate ' sampling' other people's stuff . There is a video which uses footage from both cleverly to make it look like they were performing together .
They never performed it together but there is a mashup that's pretty good
I really do love this song and it is amazing how well it came together because there are parts where it is definitely a Bowie song and parts where it is definitely a Queen song. Thank you for reacting to this one. David Bowie's real name was David Jones but I don't know his son's name. This is an iconic bassline written by John Deacon and the very beginning of what became this song. David was sometimes political, yes. The story is that VI never asked and didn't give credit so he was sued by Queen and Bowie for over 10 million dollars and of course they won. With that said, VI got like a 4 platinum record for Ice Ice Baby, something that was just not happening with music from that genre at that time. For him to turn around and lie about it was pathetic and then even after being sued he tried to say he now owned the rights to Under Pressure which he does not and never has but he does own the rights to Ice Ice Baby. Queen and Bowie were kind to VI because they could have made him pull the record and give them any monies that it had made on top of the 10 million but they just let him run with it and told him in no uncertain terms that he did not own the riff and he had no claim to Under Pressure.
Very good. Everyone has taken from someone else in one way or another.
"I don't believe his ears have never head it before" lol that's a good point!
A neighbour's kid 8 years back said to his dad (who I chatting to in the street about this at the time) "it's okay, but I prefer the Vanilla original"
...
:O
Gobsmacked
[the expression of course, not that the kid got smacked in the face for that comment lol]
Deacys riff V ICE what a cheek to steal it
Johnny Depp has done a good cover of another Bowie song heroes. With the group he's in Hollywood vampires.
I don’t think they asked permission… they always said it was different, I’m pretty sure after court it had to be credited to 5 or 6 writers plus a sum of money
He is still paying now, what are you talking about, everytime Ice version is played Queen gets paid.
It's perfectly okay to enjoy both.
for me UNDER PRESSURE was more of a Bowie song lyrically than at Queen and song
He's from the Bronx. Boogie down Bronx. Freddie Mercury and David Bowie lived in Manhattan at different times.
Dr Dre sampled "I got the" by Labi Siffre for "My name is" by Enimen. So it’s not true to say he didn’t lift beats from other people. The beat is used all the way through the song.
Perhaps, thematically, following this up with Innuendo would be interesting.
Vanilla Ice came to a party at my house in E Dallas with my then boyfriend. The party was all rock DJs, and Ice got mad and left cuz nobody knew who he was. LOL
"Go Knights, Go!"
Very deep Song, still today
but only this version
I think Peter Freestone said that one morning Freddie had his breakfast and Ice Ice Baby came on the radio first he thought it was Under pressure.
They did not know abt him using their bass line.
Yes, that’s exactly right: Freddie was having breakfast in bed (this was in the last months when he was sick, I believe). “Ice Ice Baby” came on the radio, and Freddie recognized their bass riff.🖖
This must be in Garden Lodge and he was really sick.
Produced by and written by David Bowie and Queen. Classic. Pivot song 🎵. the next David Bowie was Let's Dance 💃. Meanwhile, Queen released the soundtrack to the movie 🎥 Flash Gordon.
Suggested videos 📹: 1 David Bowie sings Let's Dance 💃 2 Queen performs Headlong.
John Deacon came up with the rift. He was playing it all morning. They stopped at lunchtime to go for a pizza. When they returned back to start recording again. Apparently John had completely forgotten the rift. Luckily Roger Taylor had remembered it. 😆😆
David and Freddie wrote this song together when in Switzerland ...Vanilla Ice stole the riff and lost the court case....you can feel its more Bowie than Mercury but together it's awesome....
This was in the movie Happy Feet
Neither of these two Clowns even knew which one was Bowie Singing. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I have a hard time believing people that age have never heard the same either because even if you didn’t like either band you’d surely have heard it several times before. Like I don’t like Adele but I know a few of her songs because they crop up everywhere
@@kjek1You have a very good point but growing up in New York City the disadvantage live in their own world where the outside doesn't matter. When someone is poor it's not just economics.
Gabe...is it really you!!! ❤❤
Omg you should react to Death On Two Legs by Queen - it's got some fantastic insults in it 😂
this guy need to listen to more bowie
David bowie is a music god
WRONG AGAIN!! Vanilla Ice stole Queen's Music. It was Vanilla Ice's only Big Hit. Queen took them to Court, the Judge listened to Queen's Bass Rift then Vanilla Ice. Queen won their Case hands down. The Video with Queen and David singing this Song was much better.
Isn’t that exactly what I said?
@@BoringReviews Almost but not quite. To steal another Bands Music for your song is a definite NO! Just think...If they hadn't used Queen's Music how would it have sounded then?
@@JamienomoreLiterally what Nick said…..
@@dazediss6629 I wasn't talking about Nick. He has a Great Taste in Music.
I believe Freddy Mercury was flattered by Vanilla Ice version of best and never sued?
English people in 1990 didn’t even know what suing was.
He was sued and settled out of court.
Yes it's wrong!!! To like a song stolen from a legendary song like Under pressure. The original s always better than a stolen song. Vanilla ice couldn't make a hit without stealing from a song that is already a legendary song
Reaction to George Harrison - Who Can See It
Ignorance is excused to easily these days.
live video better. You can see them. It’s even better.
Never liked this video.
Prefer the one with them at separate concerts that someone mashed together.
In the thumbnail David has a mint green jacket on and Freddie had his white vest and yellow crop jacket.
Vanilla ice is catchy because it uses under pressure but it's not as good.
Don't like all the attention to the goodness, even creativity of other than Freddie and/or Bowie. Hmmmm
Vanilla Ice hat den Riff gestohlen & musste eine Geldstrafe bezahlen an Queen!
Did nick just say vanilla ice is cool again? In about 30yrs he's been a nobody. I did see him sing ice ice baby at mara lago a few months ago, not in person as I'm not a spy (wink). He got ridiculed and so did trump for it. Any MAGA i welcome you to come at me, I'll ridicule you with facts 😂
