This was the ultimate front man.
Nobody has ever controlled a crowd in this way; if you watch the whole set - he does a vocal warm up where he sings random notes and the audience sing it back to him. It goes on for about 5 minutes and then he just goes “FUCK YOU”.
    And starts playing a song.

Great reaction, I was in that crowd when I was 16 years old and have been a Queen fan ever since. I am now 55. I also saw them twice the following year in 1986 one back at Wembley and then in August 1986 at Knebworth which turned out to be Freddie's ever last LIVE performance with Queen. I consider myself very lucky to have seen him perform, especially at this concert. We didn't know whether they were going to come on as they weren't on the official line up nor on the tickets and when they were announced it woke all of us up, which after 6 hours in the sun we were all feeling a bit jaded. RIP my beautiful Persian Poppinjay (Freddie's own words) you were and still are a LEGEND. Stay safe from Manchester UK

Queen best in the world in the70s 80s , Queen is the whole band they all have written No1 hits and no other band gelled like they did, Queens greatest hits album is still the best selling album today in their country Britain 🇬🇧 , Queen, all the band contributed to the harmonies in their music, Freddie did some solo projects sometimes with other artists like the Spanish opera singer Montserrat Cabaret, and Michael Jackson, I attended many live concerts with Queen, and I attended Freddie’s very last live performance ever at Knebworth park United Kingdom 🇬🇧 in 1986 , the crowd at Knebworth was a estimated 140,000 people,Queen have a huge catalog of amazing music and they have sold over 250 million records worldwide, great reaction thanks 🙏

And… Journalist Paul Gambaccini (Paul was acquainted with Freddie and he was present backstage during Live Aid; he’s been interviewed in a lot of Queen documentaries)… said: “We’re LUCKY that Freddie was such a good person, because (talking about the ability Freddie had, to make THOUSANDS of people do whatever he wanted with just a word or a gesture) …he could’ve been another Hitler!”

    Ok.
Freddie is one of my heroes. I ADORE that man. I still miss him and, 30 years on, it still hurts that he's gone.... But...
If Queen's success really was all because of Freddie then his solo career would have been way, WAY more successful than it was. Until the album with Montserrat Caballé, his solo career was, pretty much, a dud.
Queen is the only band where all four members wrote #1 hits for the group.
Their biggest hit, especially in the U.S, was Another One Bites the Dust written by John Deacon, the bassist! He also wrote the last one you reacted to, I Want To Break Free, + others.
The song in THIS reaction, Radio Ga Ga, along with others, was written by Roger Taylor, the drummer!
We Will Rock You was written by Brian May, the guitarist! As was Fat Bottom Girls, Who Wants to Live Forever, The Show Must Go On, & many more.
Queen was more than just Freddie, or the sum of its parts. They were a unit. A team. The reason they were so successful was because of everything each one brought to the table.
Not dissing the Freddie adoration, the man is definitely the G.O.A.T. An absolute legend! But PLEASE don't dismiss the major contributions of the other three members.
    Freddie certainly didn't.
For the love of sanity, i beg you to watch, whether as a reaction or on your own time, the BBC documentary: Queen - Days of Our Lives. It will really open your eyes. Trust me.👍

    • @bluebell3720
      @bluebell3720 Před 2 měsíci

To be fair Freddie didnt promote his album or perform the songs
He was approached to do solo albums
Brians solo did the same as Freddies and he debuted the single at Freddies tribute
One single was a tv advert and he toured the album

    • @bluebell3720
      @bluebell3720 Před 2 měsíci

I think a huge part of the success of the albums which leads to the concerts is the diversity
But Freddie brings a lot of charisma and connection to the audience the others couldnt
They also couldn't perform the range of songs
The four of them worked well together
I think part of the reason the solo albums didnt do as well is the tone is similar through out rather than all the contrast you get in a Queen album
Freddies living on my own video was banned
After his death the video was trimmed and obscured and it went to no 1

    PLEASE NOTE:
You should pick a copy of the 20-minute video that…
Starts with two “cops” introducing the band
    OR…
Has a “Mundo do Rock” logo on-the-screen in-the-corner.

…The only thing that makes me “sad” about this video of the “Radio GaGa” performance, is that it CUTS OFF just before the best part (there’s a longer version of the video that doesn’t cut off)…
Just before Freddie’s most famous “Ay-Oh” call-and-repeat with the audience! (Freddie’s long note has been called “The Note Heard Round The World”.)
    And, BTW…
Since this was simulcast live to the OTHER live audience watching on-screen in Philadelphia (124,000 folks, I think): I’ve read from folks who were watching Queen in the Philly audience, that EVERYONE in the American audience was ALSO following along with all of Freddie’s prompts!

Queen is a band that can not classified. They created soft rock, hard rock, glam rock, progressive rock, thrash metal, R&B, ballads, folk, jazz, blues, disco, dance music, show tunes, opera, funk, and often mixed more than one genre in a song,
If you like metal, you should react to Queen's "Stone Cold Crazy". It was considered to be Thrash Metal before there was Thrash Metal. And yes, Metallica di sample "Stone Cold Crazy".

Since Metallica is your favorite band you should listen to Queens’s Stone Cold Crazy and then compare it to Metallica’s cover of it.

This is written by Roger Taylor, and the hand clapping was in the official video filmed with Queen invited fans. I feel you're giving Fred too much credit, in his own words he's not the leader of the group he's the lead singer without the other three writing together or individually he would have far fewer songs to sing, and if you think Fred is Queen then his first solo album would've done a lot better than it did, Roger was actually the first one too have a solo album running alongside Queen.
It was Fred who joined Roger and Dr Sir Brian at university, and eventually they found John, who by the way wrote one of Queens biggest hits Another One Bites The Dust, Fred would be the first to say he's very much part of a group of four who all write, play many different instruments, John built the Amps as he has a degree in electronics, I feel you should watch a couple of documentaries, The Untold Story about Fred with people who knew him best namely his mother and sister, and Days Of Our Lives and you'll see its very much a collaboration with four highly successful and intelligent men

I get it. Could queen work with out Freddie??? NO. 100% NO. It would have still been a band. But it Wouldn’t be what we know today 100 % Freddie made queen, queen. Brian and roger could create the band. But Freddie made it what it is.

I am not saying that my friend. I’m just saying Foo Fighters are awesome and legit. Been around a long time. Grohl has definitely done nothing in life past Nirvana

Freddie’s solo work didn’t do well Queen is all four of them a quote from Freddie ‘I need Roger & Brian’s voices to make the Queen sound without them it’s not Queen’ ❤ all four are inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame & Songwriters Hall of Fame they were four equal band members x Freddie said in numerous interviews he is the lead singer not leader of the band x Days of Our Lives is a good Queen documentary x

Please don't lessen the value of the other band members. Annoying! Spike Edney was the back-up pianist I believe. Still with them today.
