AWWW, It’s TOO BAD you guys didn’t react to the live performance at La Nit. Their chemistry together is ADORABLE (it’s easy to see they were good friends and quite fond of each other). And, Montserrat’s energy onstage matches Freddie’s… their BOTH firecrackers!
It was mimed so its basically the same
@@jpw6893 Yes, the audio is the same. I just enjoy watching the two of them interacting together.
@@marciebulsaraorcutt you ever listened to the sessions of it?
@@jpw6893 I don’t think I have! (I’ve heard some improv/outtake audio of them, quite some time ago, but I don’t remember what it was from… I’ll have to look for this!)🖖
@marciebulsaraorcutt it's the rarities. I had them on DVD. How can I go on is my fav
I cried the first time I heard this masterpiece. Freddie Mercury was a talent like we'll never see again
You are going to love this!!
Who else but Freddie Mercury could combine rock, opera and gospel and make it work! Amazing
Again, delusional.
Meatloaf and the who . But none like Freddie
@@dawnyoung8 Freddie was before Meatloaf, tho.🖖
@@marciebulsaraorcutt oh yeah ! For sure , what year did Rocky horror picture show come out tho ? That was pretty early . Not Freddie early tho .
Freddie and Montserrat did an entire album together and were incredibly close friends. And yes, she was a world famous soprano at the time they collaborated. They did the song "Barcelona" for the 1992 Olympics (Barcelona was the host city and her city of birth). Of course Freddie didn't live long enough to do it with her there.
I have got the Barcelona vinyl album I have played it a few times I'm so scared of damaging it to know I play it on CZcams but not always sometimes I like to listen to my vinyl on my record player no matter I like 👍🏻
Theres a whole story behind Freddie talking about how she had his favorite voice and she heard about it and set up a meeting. Freddie wanted to do a song together, but she loved his writing and said lets do an album.
The song Barcelona ended up being chosen for the olympic games in Barcelona.
Freddie was a 100% bonafide GENIUS.❤️
Sonically pleasing wall of sound. Freddie, I still miss you.
You must listen to Barcelona. Freddie and Montserrat are incredible together ❤
Anything Freddie does is exceptional but you really need to watch these together, you could just see how much they respected one another... To watch is joyous ❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for putting this great song with Freddie Mercury and the great Opera singer Madam Monserat Capalle! ❤❤
What a beautiful reaction. Many many thanks to you both. ❤
They did a whole album together ❤ its called Barcelona !
Freddie Mercury Montserrat Caballé superbe
My favorite song off the Barcelona album! Sir Tim Rice wrote the lyrics for The Golden Boy citing that “Freddie ran out of lyrics” .. In an interview, Sir Tim Rice commented that Freddie IS “the golden boy”.
Freddie saw Montsy in an opera..was captivated by her voice...he sent her a recording of him singing (I think it was called “Exercises in Free Love”....she invited him to go to Spain to meet her...their first recording together was “Barcelona”...it was the anthem for the Barcelona Olympics the year after Freddie died....a lot of singers approached her after Freddie died wanting to sing with her...her reply was”no, only Freddie”🤩 btw Freddie never had vocal training....he started out very well...won a most beautiful baby competition...became a boxing champion...then was a graphic designer....he designed the Queen logo that you see at the beginning of some videos...also the”Flash” symbol...somebody said on CZcams..”it’s not fair that someone should be so gifted...save some perfection for the rest of us”❤️
Two leyends in the stage.
Your smile says it all
"how can i go on"? But "live" beautiful with Monserrat also
Beautiful song and voices. Thank you.
I love you smiled from the beginning to the end.
Watch their hit duet Barcelona. It's epic.
Thank you and just what Freddie
Sorry that's just what Freddy does 👍🏻🇬🇧🇺🇲
Freddie Mercury ❤
You need to watch this video. He wrote an entire album that they did together. There are several videos of songs they dd together
Thank you so much for reacting to this! I love it!!
Freddie can sing in his baritone voice and then switch to his strong higher tones
You can find all Freddie's world in this piece of music.
You must listen how can I go on too
You have to love Asia. BJ your pretty awesome too!
Barcelona is another good one that they did as was mentioned before
They also did "How Can I Go On " ....and to really See Freddie's Falsetto Range, try "Cool Cat" ...
I strongly recommend you to react to the live version of this song !!!
You'll be mesmerized !!!
Freddie was an opera fan and saw her sing, word got out and meeting between two was set up and they got together to sing. Found out it worked with their voices and recorded an album. What a matchup! He was heavily influenced by Aretha Franklin. BJ did a very good job in pronouncing her name! Most really butcher it. Other songs if interested are Barcelona and How Can I Go On.
How can I go on is my fav from the album. But u must watch the live performance
Freddie had no vocal training ever, all self-taught.
You must see Live oooh my goood sooou amazing
Come on guys you must do "Barcelona it will blow your socks off.oh and monseys surname is pronounced "cab" "ell ""yay".
Really wish you had watched the video
Hi, loved your reaction. If you get a chance, you should watch the video for it. Also, I highly recommend reacting to the video, the live performance of Barcelona with Freddie Mercury and Montserrat. It’s amazing!
Two worlds colappsed and it works!
Just to add that Freddie did not have any vocal training....he was born to ing🤩
💕
REACȚII ȘI FINE OBSERVAȚII. MULTUMESC 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
She were the besta soprano hevet😂
Brenda Fassie, Vulindlela - reaction to one of her stage performances of the song. Amaizing! 🎤 🎵
You should listen to welcome by Maxwell
Cree summer- curious white boy ❤ one of the most underrated albums of all time to me.
He’s professionally trained , he went to university I believe for music . Isn’t that where they met ?
Freddie had a degree in graphic design with plans to work in advertising. He met Montserrat in the late 80's because she heard him compliment her and she wanted to meet him. Freddie was not professionally trained.
@@lala_sparkles8035 no I meant the members of Queen or I believe a musician connected them all , that he met in school , not her , sorry , but thanks for the info I didn’t know what his degree was in . I love him. ❤️
@@lala_sparkles8035 Didn’t he work on a music piece in college with someone connected with the band ? I could have sworn I saw that somewhere .
@@dawnyoung8I love them, too! Since about 1975! 😊 Oh, yeah, Queen members were all in college when they met. Roger and Brian were in the band Smile with Tim Staffell, and were friends with Freddie. When Tim decided to leave, Freddie joined and they auditioned for a new bass player, eventually adding John (and changing the name to Queen). They all studied different fields, no one studied music, though: Freddie graphic design, Roger biology/dentistry, Brian astrophysics, and John electrical engineering.
He went to college with Tim Staffel lead singer of Smile that's how Freddie met Riger and Brian

LOCKSMITH the GREATEST UNDERRATED EMCEE OF ALL TIMES...... checkout AMERICA or HYPOCRITES or his FREESTYLES
Mercuty had a decent Lyric voice, but those people who say he could have sung opera are delusional. He wasn't even close. In fact his lyric abilities are lower rate. Sorry to burst your delusional balloons, but the truth is the truth.
Who stole the jam out your doughnut? 😏
Lyric abilities are lower rate has to be the funniest joke I have heard in a while, Montserrat Caballe must have thought the same to want to work with him.
He was untrained and had horrible habits such as smoking and cocaine
@@woahblackbettybamalam he was untrained but can you imagine if he had decided to go into Opera at an early age and did not do Coke and Smoke, his range was still phenomenal and is recognised as still having one of the best voices in music no matter what his critics say, I personally can't stand to hear a lot of Opera singers, not to say they were not good, just my preference in style, Montsy though had a beautiful voice.
