On screen, Gary is very understated as an interviewer - but it's a rare interviewer skill to be able to put interviewees at ease to the extent that they are so open and can just say what they think - and he does it in every interview. Brilliant stuff tbh, and the exact opposite of the dull, media-trained, answers given to match-day interviewers.

Damn, his English is near perfect. He's also obviously an intelligent and therefor interesting man to listen to. He's won it all. Literally, all and is so vocal and open when answering Gary's questions about his way of doing things. Really interesting to see Gnev take the Overlap abroad. Hopefully, we'll get more of these foreign legends to speak their mind on the beautiful game. For me as a Dutchie, Pique was so much more interesting than, let's say, a Declan Rice who's still at the beginning and is not as vocal cause he's still got a career ahead of him. That's not a critique on Rice's part, I just think older players who've won it all can say more and simply know more due to all of their experiences. Of course, Pique is an interesting guest for a British channel because of his connection to Utd and thus the Overlap came to him, however it's still a nice change of pace to hear someone like him, who played for arguably the best club team ever (Pep's Barca) and was a key player when being there, share his thoughts. Loved this. Keep 'em coming!

The best episode ive seen yet. Gerard Pique what a great personality, he has had such a fantastic career. Definitely go down as one of the top 5 Spanish center backs in history for sure. Sergio Ramos, Carles Puyol, Fernando Hierro, Carlos Marchena are considered to be the greatest of Spanish football history but he is definitely up there with the greats.
He was the first of the Captains to put himself forwad for the 50% pay cut. Then Busquets Alba and Sergi Roberto followed right after him.
Whereas the debt he is totally right Gary Neville for La Liga and Seria A. The Super League needs another outcome, I think what the best solution to save La Liga and Seria A to compete with the Premier League financially which is so far ahead no other league in the world can catch it, literally have become the NBA NHL MLB NFL of the sport. I believe La Liga and Seria A can continue but they could make a higher tier Med Combined league so promotion of La Liga and Seria A would get you into this joint league. Top 10 or 9 or 11 from La Liga and Seria A become one League. The tv rights will explode if you have teams like Barca Real Madrid Atletico Sevilla Valencia Juve Inter AC Milan Napoli Roma Lazio ect. The competition would be crazy and this would attract big private investors like the PL to come reinstate clubs such as Valencia or Inter Milan ect. It would definitely compete with the Premier League if this materialized and on all levels, football quality, fan base, the history of the teams involved. Champions League winners like Real Madrid, Barcelona, AC Milan, Inter Milan, Juventus.

Nadal and Sanchis were great but mostly carried by their super star 11. When Marchena left Valencia. Valencia stopped being competitive in La Liga and qualifying for the CL. His tackle rate is one of the highest in Liga history and he could pass the ball out better than most defenders in that decade. He is definitely the most under rated. Ive seen Sanchis and Nadal play they were good but Marchena held his own even better. Migueli, Andoni Goikoetxea and Camcho were better center backs but i was speaking more in terms of modern football so lets say from the millenium and Champions League reform of 1992 for example.

That would mess up the football hierarchy in both countries. If you put the top 10 or 11 teams of both leagues into a single competition, what would happen to the rest of the teams that didn't get picked? Would they go down the football ladder? It doesn't really make much sense. Also, would you also put the top 10 or 11 teams from the bottom leagues into 1 league, how would promotion work in this scenario? Imo, there are way too many loopholes in this new system you proposed. Sure, the commercial and monetary benefits would be amazing, but if this were to actually happen, I don't think it would actually succeed in practice.

Listening to Pique talk about when he first went to Barcelona, and saying ‘they were not doing well’ might make some people understand how good of a job Pep Guardiola did.
He didn’t just inherit a team which was winning everything - they’d just lost all their ‘best players’ and not won anything 2 years prior.
Pique puts it perfectly, Guardiola was/is incredible.

They spent more than city in the past few years. Yet they aren’t even top 3. If you think money can buy success in football then you must not have heard of Real Madrid’s galacticos from the early 2000s, PSG, and yes, Man Utd. You don’t have a clue what you’re on about.
