The greatest Premier League striker ever? 💪
Thierry Henry.
Definitely the best English striker. So far...
Greatest premier league goalscorer no doubt records speak for them self 👏
Yup
one of, best english striker ever.
Not gonna lie, these are probably the best things to watch on CZcams at the minute.
100%
well that’s simply not true is it
Im glad you didn't lie that time
Why would we think you'd lie about that? Now I think you're lying.
you're probably a united fan aren't you.
I like how he says "my first goal was down there against Wimbledon", without mentioning the fact it was on his debut from 25 yards, and he stuck it in the top corner. What a legend.
Goal machine 👍
Humble be bloke Alan
League debut, the charity shield is classed as a competitive game 🤔
So humble and down to earth. So much respect for him.
@@anthonylloyd8557 incorrect. Home debut.
You have to give Neville credit for this show.
The concept is simple but works perfectly and Neville is truly exceptional at this style of interviewing.
I always thought Gary Neville was an absolute twat when he was playing but since he went into punditry I've gotten a lot more respect for him. Whatever you think about his opinions, at least he's honest.
Yeah he's a very professional guy
@@laernulienlaernulienlaernu8953 except when it comes to Ole Gunnar

Ian Wright would be a quality interview
Wright becks Alex the list goes on
This is Ian interviewing Dennis Bergkamp czcams.com/video/twgVAkT2LV0/video.html
Ian Wright was a guest on the True Geordie podcast, recommend giving that a watch if you want an in-depth interview with him!

@@xXxbally661xXx Glad you typed that. I gave up on TG years ago but this will be well worth a watch so cheers.
Who would have thought that Neville would be such an amazing presenter? He's just so good. He knows what he's talking about, he has inside knowledge, he has a rapport with every player he talks with, he listens and asks the right questions. He's just so watchable, and makes all the players so watchable. Shearer used to get bagged for being "boring" and I know he's done a lot of work as a pundit since that, but he certainly isn't boring in this, and I think a lot of that is to do with Neville drawing people out. The interview with Keane was also really good.
couldn't agree more, much better than being a coach huh
Take you're tongue out of his arse
I didn't know Mr Shearer's statue was just outside the stadium grounds , that really is petty and pathetic by Ashley. Thanks for another fun interview.
Yeah it's terrible. He also renamed Shearer's bar (which is in the stadium) because he's a petty man child
Commented this before watching the full thing 🤦🏻♂️
It gets worse mate the area the statue is on used to be a public toilet before the tore it down for the statue.
It just shows the world how petty Ashley was...at times it was like he was doing it on purpose for criticism he received from fans, he also changed the stadium name to sports direct arena. Cannot believe it looking back.
@@geegee3826 I think after a while he just thought fuck it I'll do whatever suits me and while that may work in a ruthless business environment it doesn't work in football.
Ruthless goalscorer and thoroughly decent human being.
One touch shot …. Best I’ve ever seen
He'll stop and talk to anyone he's a top man
You've never met him, all you are judging him on is his tv appearances which are staged. Shearer is not universally liked in his own stomping ground, he doesn't even know the working hours of the working class... 7-5, 7-6.... no Alan 9-5, 8-5,
@@chipbuttytime3396 ok I've never met him 🤔🤔🤔 I know from personal experience he's great
Lies again? Never Touch Goal
As a Newcastle fan, this interview really touches the heart and brings back sweet memories. We may have won nothing, but it was fun then. Crazy at times but fun most of the time.
Newcastle in the mid 90s was pretty fun to watch! Kevin Keegan at the helm, Les Ferdinand-Shearer scoring goals for fun, the two runner ups (behind ManU twice ffs), and also Roy Keane red card vs Alan Shearer in St James Park! 🤣
im a Liverpool fan but absolutely love Shearer. My best ever tournament was Euro 96 and he was at his peak. legend
utd did great without him during this era but shearer at utd would of been unreal .. fair play to him going to his boyhood club though
Can’t deny Man United would’ve won even more had he gone tho, 100% more of a force than they were in Europe
United would have won the 1997 champions league with Shearer.
He did play for United...
@@steventelfer9530 yeah, a shit United
The two biggest regrets I have about players not signing for United are Shearer in 1996 and Brian Laudrup when he left Rangers on a free in 1997 and went to Chelsea...Both would have been fantastic at United
Love that advice from his parents. Same exact advice my parents gave/give to me: Do what you want to do, so long as you work hard.
Everybody works hard. Working smartly and efficiently is the real key.
@@cjjohnson353 “Everybody works hard…” 🤣
I don't think so it's a good advice... dreaming to be a singer or footballer or performer is good but not many have the obsessiveness to make it to the top .. it requires an obsessiveness and craziness beyond what normal people can ever think of ... get a good engineering degree would be much better fot a lot of people
Working smartly and efficiently AND working hard is better yet again. The real winners in this world all have something in common... they work harder than everybody else. Hard work and passion can be moulded, it can get you a long way and allow somebody to realize their potential. The advice from his parents is fantastic.
@@grealish2234 it is good advice though “ do what you want to do” I take that as it doesn’t matter what you do as long as you’re happy doing it.

Alan Shearer! Best striker of a ball I’ve ever seen, strong as an ox, great in the air !! A great leader … most important of all .. a proper GEORDIE

When I think of strikers that could absolutely wallop the ball, I think of Shearer, Batistuta, Hasselbaink.
I love Alan Shearer interviews, so humble and honest, big shame he doesn't want to go back into management as I think he'd do a great job

@@ramzino9331 do you not mean Harry kane is basically Shearer but a 1000 times worst🤔
He was doing Haaland levels of goalscoring. Unstoppable
Shearer scored a significant percentage of my favourite goals ever, as a United fan he was a nightmare in the 90s. His volleys were legendary, at the time I remember thinking he was like a better version of Mark Hughes.
Telling ya mate, unreal . No pace, can't beat a man. Hold it up turn an bang. Headers amazing an volleys. Equal to Henry an for you aguero slightly better I would say . Different but better.

As a football fan, of any team, you have to respect the loyalty he has to his team. Could’ve been main player in the treble winning team but chose to elevate his club instead of elevating his own career. Mad respect for this one
Yes he loved Newcastle so much he signed for Southampton at the other end of the country, then despite Newcastle wanting him to return he signed for Blackburn thats loyalty.
Well said
Great show. Gary Neville doing a great job. Shearer for me the very best Premier League striker. Sure he would have finished with a lot more goals had he been at United with the service he would have had.

The Overlap is a gift from Sky to CZcamsrs. Gary Neville does great work in these.
Shearer the greatest out and out centre forward in Premier League history
What a legend man, love hearing more from big Al, my hero as a kid, great seeing Gary and him chat as you can tell there is a genuine friendship and real mutual respect there. What a player he was, imagine if he'd have gone United with the likes of Beckham, Giggs, Irwin and Neville whipping balls in all day... Jesus Christ man....
Im disgusted, I never knew it came so close, didn't realise until this video he actually met with Fergie. Would've won more trophies and got a few more champions leagues
Shearer really is a class act
Shilling for a murderer, classy
Gary, do one of these with Denis Law, he seems to be in decent health still and would be a great interview subject i feel.
These uploads are my favourite on CZcams in recent times
Recently returned to watching football after many years away. Loving it. This video series enriches the game tremendously. Well done Gary and team. Alan Shearer is another example of English players that are great both on and off the pitch.
Shearer would be worth at least £100 million in today’s market! He had everything and can only imagine what he could of done in a Man Utd shirt. Great player
100 million????...you can at least double that, in 1996 he was the world's greatest centre forward!
100 as a minimum,, utd fan
And the rest…
£250m more like 😄
100 mil would buy his heading abilities in todays game
Gary Neville has great craic doing these interviews. Can't be classed as work..great content.
I’ll give Neville some credit, he is very entertaining and a great interviewer
I need one of these a day. Such a good insight on somebody who doesn’t really crave the limelight. Top player and a top man is Shearer
As a Chelsea fan I admire Shearer a lot
hes one of the most arrogant men on the planet. Egotistical. Everything that good north east lads aren't

Another great Gary Neville interview. He'll have his own talk show at this rate on TV. A natural
Just Fantastic! Gigantic respect for my childhood hero ALAN SHEARER! Great program, loved it!

Playing for your hometown clubs means more than trophies. Trophies are just a bonus.
Newcastle in top 5 back in the days was immense but shearer's goal against Everton in 2002 what a goal!
i was there. with my mate who was an Everton Fan. Yobo sent off and we struggled till that magical last few minutes.

Absolutely... The greatest premier league striker...better than anyone, he had everything. I've never seen any better.
This was a brilliant watch! Congratulations to Gary and team!
Still the only English player I'd put my house on in front of goal. A confidence and mental strength that you don't see very often.
Michael Owen not a bad shout too, might be bland but the guy could play when he wasn't hurt
Yeah he's got amazing self-discipline and self control.
If I've got my house on it then 100% I'm turning to one man and one man only and that's G O D. Robbie Fowler. Easily the best finisher I've seen
Love Shearer. Absolute hero. Gave me so much joy watching him through the years cannot thank him enough. Great piece by Sky.
I live and work in Newcastle and Shearer is spot on, I love this City. The weather is brutal but the people are warm and welcoming.
I travel for work all over the uk. Have to say, Newcastle people are the most friendly people I've met.
I feel like Alan and Gary are examples of loyalty that don’t seem to exist in football these days. It has me hoping youngsters like Reece James, Saka etc can stick around at their club for years to come and get to that top level. It’s definitely something special that football needs going forward.
Were there teams interested in Neville though
Fair enough but still that fact that he grew in Manchester, supported United, played his entire career there, and to this day backs and supports the club is something that is very rare if not non existent in modern football.

When Alan didn't sign for Manchester United I hated him. He was the very best and he had strong competition. I doubt that we will ever see a striker as good as Alan again. Very down to earth and passionate about football. A very likeable guy and I wish him all the best. This is the best player interview by miles.
We did OK with Andy Cole though .
Was never a fan of Gary in his playing days being a NUFC supporter, but since he has left football (so to speak) I've found a new admiration for him. Love his honesty when commentating and now things such as this. May it long continue Gary.
Riveting viewing and brilliant interviewing from Gary. He builds such a rapport with each ex-player. Great viewing love it !
Alan Shearer premier league legend but 260 goals record goal scorer 15 years still won't be broken for maybe at least 5 years but at the moment he's a living legend and Newcastle as a city never been there but the passion is real.
If he didn't have a 3 year out with injuries he would of got 300+ goals easily

Mate I had the same experience, I joined the Army at 16, had to leave Liverpool and everything in my life behind and move to London. Watched my mum crying at the station, I then locked myself in the toilet and cried uncontrollably for about have an hour. But it was the best move I ever made. You are a true legend of the game, I'm my opinion as a Liverpool fan, you are the best the premier League has ever see 👏
Brilliant! And hopefully Shearer’s records will all stand for a long, long time to come.
Had one of the best keepers at the time too Shay Given .
Nah Shay was a top quality shot stopper but was never elite level . He never ever came for crosses , he always sat on his line . Sometimes u need ur keeper to command his area n that's something he didn't n couldnt do . How many goals do teams concede from crosses when he's in goal ? Guaranteed th percentage goes up with Shay in goal . Top shot stopper but nah not quite elite level
@@sf7862 Idk like he was unreal back in his day, bare in mind the defence in front of him was far from world class as well despite how good the attack and midfield was

Think it's probably a blessing in the end he didn't get the job. Mike Ashley would've ruined it and it would've ended in tears.
Great player but doen't convince me with his inane ramblings on MOTD that he's anywhere near managerial material. It would all have ended in tears no matter who 'owned' the club.
Massive respect to Alan. If you turn down a club as big as Man United it only shows your loyalty towards the club that you love. One of the very few players where money was not the first priority.
I must commend Gary, he's getting really really good content out of some legends, really enjoyable to watch and listen to great stories. Players seem so relaxed talking to him. Well done #2
This gives me goosebumps. Alan Shearer is an ABSOLUTE LEGEND and i resonate with him on every single level, which is very rare these days with footballers who snub the fans. watching from brazil. back in the 90s newcastle united had a popular basis of fans here. Alan Shearer was popular, lots of kids wearing his 9 on their jerseys, alongside, of course, Ronaldo, Kluivert and others. Hope they can back to their previous excelency. St James is a beautiful stadium with passionate supporters. they have everything to be back on top
The kids in here in the 90s idolised the Brazilian team Ronaldo Rivaldo Ronhaldinho Romario etc. Powerful team but now in the last 20 years what's happened til the Brazilian team they lack quality and talent. Compared to the great teams of the past. Dont get me wrong I'm English and we've massively underperformed, albeit we got to semi final in 2018 and finalists of euro2020.
Suppose the point is making his Brazilian used to develop superior players and teams now in last 20 years Europe is taken over in terms of talent skills systems tactics. Since 2002 last 4 winners been Italy 06 Spain 2010 Germany( in Brazil 7-1 ) and France in 2018. What's happened to Brazilian team???
@@DA-of9sv you're absolutely right, man. our national team is underperforming since around 2010. our clubs dont have the money to maintain the best players until 24, 25 years, when they're mature. nowadays, they go to europe with 17, 18. they mature under a different system, and happens very often that they dont get more chances to play over a similar european youngster. plus, we dont have a huge identification with our national team, you know? most of us dont even know who are those players, because they've never had a career in Brazil.
