exactly what I thought. if the QR2 was released let's say in June/July, I wouldn't mind as much as we would already have it for some time. but this close from release feels almost like a middle finger... oh well all I can do is keep enjoying what I got and can't forget, businesses only care about numbers, so don't get attached and don't play favorite, they ain't faithful

This! And also they brought out 3-for-2 (or 3-for-2.5 or w/e it was) bundles for the wheel side adapters a couple of weeks afterwards. So I'm down almost €200 just because I bought them as soon as they came out. Feel a bit ripped off, to be honest.
All we have to do is wait till next Black Friday to receive our deliveries 😅

That wouldn't be a bad move. I sold my Fanatec equip, and was deciding between Asetek and Simagic, but went with Simagic for the value & wheel selection (and simplicity/ecosystem). I was greatly intrigued by the Asetek QR + USB wheel connectivity👍
ordered one in case i want to sell my setup. i think in the future you will need one to sell it.
I'm quite new to sim racing but looking to uograde at some point.
Can you tell me please if you only intend to use one wheel with the wheelbase (CSL DD 8Nm + McClaren GT v2 for example) do I need QRs at all?
And if so how would I know which QR2 type to get, C or M?
If you only wanna use one wheel then you already get the QRs you need with it. The bundle you mention should come with QR1 which is perfectly fine. The QR2 is a new standard and upgrade for some, but you won't have to worry none.

@@Wilayaat it can be pretty bamboozling at times - the CSL DD still comes with QR1 as standard, so as long as you choose QR1 for the wheel aswell then you'll be fine. You CAN upgrade both to QR2 but they're optional extra at this time and won't affect you a great deal. QR2 is a better system but it's not like QR1 is bad, especially for CSL DD 8nm.

One more question please, would it be more sensible to buy a wheelbase with more Nm for future-proofing? Thinking of getting a gaming PC further down the line so I can go VR + more sim titles / modding etc.
@@Wilayaat With Fanatec you don't have to worry so much about future proofing - the resale value on Fanatec is ALWAYS very good, so if you do find you want more, selling is always a quick process and you don't lose much money. For a lot of people, the 8nm CSL DD is plenty, but if you want more, you can swap to a higher force base without losing much second hand value.

The logistics this year have been a mess for some regions ever since they switched to an external partner, at least from my personal experience of having the last 3 shipments take a full month to reach me in the UK even before Black Friday, and that's a pretty good turnaround by the sounds of it. Shipping was always about a week or two when Fanatec handled it internally, even after brexit, so to say the transition to a dedicated logistics partner appears to have not gone well would be putting it mildly.

Yea this hard pill to swallow. They pretty screwed their community. Should at least given some kind of rebate or credit. But those buying it now won’t get until next year, so there is a silver lining to getting it early and paying the higher price.
I had ordered mine with a lot of other stuff, and it's been completely shipped, will be here in a couple days :D
The wheel-side QR2 is still outrageously expensive though... So yaar, nothing really to gloat about getting a minor discount on the QR2 upgrade :P
