- Experienced midwife Naghmeh is looking after Beth who has now been induced early, because of her complications. A specialist in high-risk cases, Naghmeh is braced for the worst-case scenario.
On the antenatal ward, Emma is carrying out observations on mums-to-be. She meets Beth who’s expecting her first child with her girlfriend Chloe. A same-sex couple, they found a donor online and are having a little boy, but it’s not been straightforward. Beth has Lupus and then developed pre-eclampsia.
Beth eventually gives birth, and even though he’s bound by FIVE LOOPS of umbilical cord, Naghmeh keeps her cool. But the hard work is not over, the delivery of the placenta is followed by a haemorrhage, the emergency buzzer is pressed, and all staff rush to help try and stem the bleeding…

Naghmeh is amazing, solid under pressure, and saved that mama’s life. I have such deep respect for her and others like her! Thanks for a slightly stressful and excellent episode.
She’s my favorite too. SUCH a boss. SUCH a sweetheart. Friggin’ love that woman.
Who else would love to have Naghmeh as their midwife for their next birth? I would!
Naghmeh is the Dr I wish I'd had in the US with my high risk pregnancies. She's absolutely a lovely human being! ❤️
I agree. Naghmeh can be my doctor anytime ❤
What a scary situation, poor ladies. Congrats on the little one! Ignore the vile, nasty people in this comment section and unfortunately the ones you'll likely encounter in person. I wish I lived in the UK to have Nagmeh as my eventual midwife! She's so lovely.
This was so amazin bc I think this is what happened to me but my doc was not good explaining anything to me and the nurses just stood by and watched me scream in pain! Felt somewhat therapeutic to see it handled this calmly.
Why would people be so nasty about this? If you don't want to watch don't. Good luck with this baby boy.
Agreed... they will be wonderful parents. reported the hate comments, hopefully they will be taken down. I sincerely hope this beautiful couple will not see them, some of them could be very very upsetting.
Omg why are eposodes getting shorter and shorter? : (
wow that cord was something else Im so glad it all got sorted out in the end, whew!
Naghmeh and Emma are so warm and motherly ❤❤❤❤
Naghmeh has "Olga" energy in the best imaginable way. She's so strong and in control of the situation. I'd absolutely want to have her if I was high risk.
I wanted to be a L&D nurse so badly I was enrolled in a nursing program locally but then I got pregnant myself and I had such bad 24/7 morning sickness I couldn’t make it to class I found myself having to pull over and vomit on the way to class unfortunately I couldn’t get through a class without having to run to the bathroom and vomit numerous times during class eventually I had to drop out because I was so sick and I fell way too far behind in my classes 😢
I love this show!!! Thanks!
Wow. It was heart stopping . Am just happy it ended well!
i’m so glad this is the first lesbian couple i’ve seen on this show🥺 so glad mom and baby are okay
🤔 is that a tattoo this nurcr has as hair or what is it ? I’m not judging I’m just curious.
the lady with the weird hair is absolutely beautiful, what a sweet soul
I love Emma she's a great person.
Heroes, all of them ❤❤
Wow intense
Sooo excited for season 2 and the wonderful Emma Willis❣❣❣ This one was a wee bit tense...happy everything turned out fine❣❣ I absolutely adore Naghmeh...she's a STRAIGHT UP BOSS and keeps her calm❣ I know they'll be wonderful mummy and daddy...❤👍❤
okay I am just asking what going on with RN hair in this episode, does she have tattoo black on her head?
I've been wondering this too!
me too, i think its her way of keeping her head covered while shes working, for her religion, snd keeping sanitary for the theater too. i dunno. I would love to see her without it, like just a normal day, off work.
I wonder what hair do that is on the midwife’s head? No criticism just wondering. Is it tattooed?
I adore that midwife
I have four children, now 50 etc. At that time breast feeding immediately caused contractions. Have the old ways been forgotten?
If she has Lupus(high risk & VERY painful) why didn't the blonde have the baby instead? 🤷♀️😫
I think the reason the midwife hair is like that its cuz shes from Irak thats probably a form of hair coverage, a hair vel.. she probably muslim.
First
2 moms for a child. Very dad. Where does father figure come into it? So unnatural. 😢
What's up w that lady's hair??? Is it tattooed on?
Still trying to figure that out myself.
i dont think you asked that right hahaha was kinda mean but, she probably had ou have a problem with growing her hair and tattoed it because she thinks its nice, and no one has anything with that, she is lovely. The video has so much more things to pay attention to, and worry about..
She could have a condition called alopecia which causes hair loss. Honestly, I could care less about her hair-she is an amazing midwife who saved this mama’s life in this episode. She is awesome!
She can't wear a wig at work and this is her way to feel good. Main thing is she is happy and confident and she has pure heart and soul.
Surely if would have been a better option for the blonde partner to carry the baby!?
