  • This week Emma continues her journey in the world of twins however she faces a tough challenge. During a difficult labour in theatre, the twins are born prematurely and one of them is struggling to breathe. These two twins were born together but spent their most few days on Earth apart, with one of them even away from their parents.
    After a three-year break due to the pandemic, Emma Willis returns to life as a Maternity Care Assistant. With a natural shortage of midwives, Emma is expected to step up and take on more responsibility on the busy maternity ward.

    When dads have a blood pressure drop, that's a normal, human reaction to an intense situation! We tell guys to be tender, to connect, to express their feelings; then call them "ridiculous" for getting emotional at a life-changing moment. Men deserve the same validation and support that women do. Everyone does!

      I love how my son basically took charge in my grandson’s delivery’s. I was there as because my daughter in laws mom lived in a different state hours away.
      I was in awe of how my son just took great care of his boys and still does❤

    Thanks for the comment alerting me to the fact that the title is misleading.
    Had a friend experience twins actually being born apart, which is very rare, and came looking for a similar story. Her labor started way too early after struggling to conceive. She was told she would most likely lose them both. The first one came and unfortunately didn’t make it 💙 But by some miracle the labor stopped and gave the second twin some much needed extra time. A few weeks later she was born healthy and well and is now a teenager ❤️

    I freaking love this show. When I was little I wanted twins so bad. Then as I got older as an only child I didn’t like or want children told my mom she would never be a granny. Then got pregnant freshman year of college he’s 15 now. I remember going home was so scary. Even though I lived at home with my mom and grandparents it still seemed frightening and terrifying all alone as a single mom. That 1st year just keeping him alive was the hardest thing I have ever done. But my labor and delivery nurses made me want to be a nurse or in medicine. They were so kind and loving. Even postpartum nurses were fabulous as a teen mom I needed that. They really reassured me that I could do this. Never forget them. Emma is doing fantastic. I love this show. Keep them coming. Ohio USA 😊

    I've seen Emma in her capacity as a TV broadcaster, and she's great, but I really feel her true calling in life is on a Labor and Delivery floor of a hospital. It's obvious she cares deeply for these families, and is an excellent health care professional. If I were on an OB floor, I'd be tickled to have her as my care assistant. I hope she decides to go into the medical profession full time, and even to go back to school to become a fully qualified midwife. She's eminently capable of doing the job, and doing it well. She would be an asset to any hospital.

    The couple with the twins that had the C-section showed us what an emergency C-section looks like.
    When I had my first child, I went through 18 to 20 hours of labor with no results. We decided that my baby was just not going to fit. And they made the decision I needed a C-section. My baby was not in any distress. We moved quickly once there was a room open for us. But I did not have an emergency C-section. Maybe we could call mine urgent C-section. Many people will say they have had an emergency C-section when they truly did not.

    • @desyloohoo
      @desyloohoo Před 8 měsíci +1

      What a great point made. MOST unplanned c-sections are not true emergency c-sections. The majority of them are done as an urgent or just general change in plans. My c-section with my twins was unplanned and unwanted but became necessary. Twin A shifted from complete breech to footling when I was around 7cm so we had to kibosh the breech delivery plan and switched to a c-section due to the considerably higher risks associated with footling delivery. I was urgent at that point but by no means emergent…it was a solid 30-45min between when the decision was made and twin A was born, including time to have a spinal put in (I was unmedicated at that point as it’s better for breech deliveries).
      A good way to look at the difference is if there isn’t already an epidural on board, and you were awake for your c-section, it wasn’t emergent as a true emergency doesn’t allow time for having a spinal put in.

    I know I am going to be trolled over this but elective c-sections should not happen period! There are too many complications that can occur over time such as scar adhesions, surgical staples that float about and can cause issues and an overhanging pouch since they insist of using the bikini cut. It is impossible to ever lose all the fat off that lower area so it will always pull in unnaturally. Ask mothers who have had c-sections and almost all have at least one of these complaints. 12 to 24 hours is a normal amount of labor for a first birth. I have seen it last longer with no complications to the baby. Now all that said... yes you should have a c-section if it is for an emergency or truly an unusual problem. I have had 2 c-sections due to both being footling breech babies. Very rare to happen twice. I even had the baby turned and she turned back to breech position the next day. I would have never chosen to get a c-section. Surgeons make a lot of money off doing a c-section over a mother having a natural birth.

      @@aloisplease Of course they can. Of course they can be trained to do cleaning around whatever equipment is there and whatever cleaning is required. What a silly comment. Are you trying to imply that all cleaners are learning disabled?

    • @aloisplease
      @aloisplease Před 8 měsíci +1

      @58Kym um no... though as somebody who is that and physically there isint a problem with any cleaner being that? From my own personal expereince as a paitent the nurses have told me they have to clean up any Vomit, pee, poo, or blood- unless there is a passing, then it becomes a police scene. Nurses hired into hospitals are most often normal nurses with aa high standard to keeping the place sanatiz3d and I think if they were actively cleaning the biological hazards themselves it would account to spread. Nobody's saying the cleaners are incompitent- in fact I think it's very respectful to cleaning staff to expect them to do their job without having to come into contact with bits and liquids of people. Yes there are special cleaners just for this kind of mess, crime scene cleaners. In hospital it is the doctors who deal with the medical components, including waste, and the cleaners backing them up by sanitizing after. The hazards are removed. It's. A risk to an untrained cleaners health too. Training to clean carnage is also a very long process and not considered part of a normal cleaning job whatsoever like standard hospital staff are hired for. Thank you to the nurses who clean up because though it's not their job they know it's ethically right. Children don't leave their toys out after they play even if they don't vacuum the whole room.

    • @58Kym
      @58Kym Před 8 měsíci +2

      I think the c-section rate in the whole US is about 31%. In the Uk it’s about 25% overall. I understand this hospital delivers a lot of twins and higher order multiples and looks after more high risk births/pregnancies. I think that’s part of why the cs rate is high at this hospital

    • @mikafairystar
      @mikafairystar Před 5 měsíci +2
