Been with my first love for 6 years... only now to find out she doesn't feel like she once did. She can no longer confidently say "I love you." My love for her increased over the years.. but her affection toward me lessened. I always treated her right, loved her with all my heart, sacrificed so much of myself. I feel she lost sight of my worth.. for what other reason could there be for her feelings to change? Do people "just change" as they say? I refuse to accept that. Why is it that a person you give your all to, who you always treated right and always tried to please, manage to shatter your heart? Is there no way to get her to see your worth? How do you discern if you're fighting for something real, versus fighting out of stubbornness holding onto something that exists only in your imagination. This feels so surreal to me... a love I thought was so strong and so real.. now so one-sided and so cold. I'm fucking sad. Everyone around me told me not to put so much of myself into one girl, because if it didn't work out, I'd end up hurt. But I never believed them... I told them it was different with me and my girl. I was committed to making it work, to making her happy. But now I am crushed because they were right. I don't regret anything because that's just me... I gave her my all. Anything less than that wouldn't be me. But fuck man.. she's a good person, but she ended up hurting me more than anyone else. Did I fuck up in giving her my all? Even though it's me and I couldn't help myself, did I fuck up?
Kenn Lee No it’s never because of you. I know the first love is always hard and sometimes harsh. But we as human constantly changes ourselves both psychologically and physically. So your feeling towards her could change as well so does hers. Sometimes there just no one to blame not you not her. Time can bring us the most heavy lovable feelings and chemistry to you and your girl but it can also take you apart. But remember time can also flush away everything as well. Hope you are already recovered from the ending of an unhealthy relationship.
The problem in letting go comes from thinking if we just worked things out, and communicated clearly, we'd be able to get back to what we were when we were so crazy about each other. It works only if both people want to try. It's hard to even want to try if the love is all gone, though. There's just no interest. So so sad.

And I've also witnessed other of my friends keep straining on the crush of their life that I can't dare to watch that they become entirely a laughing stock in front of others or just died trying. Understandable we as humans will be hard to get over our feelings and love for someone else, but the reality tops everything in real life.
I haven’t been told that they don’t want me to be apart of my life, but i see it in how less of an effort she has put in our friendship versus b4. Ever since i told her i liked, and told me she didn’t feel the same way, she seemed really invested in our friendship still. However slowly and surely she has walked out of my life and has forgotten our friendship. All her time is put into her new, actual bf, and now i have felt wronged. Like best friends owe things to each other. I know it wasn’t a relationship, but it’s so hard to go through so much anger, then to forgive her and yourself, then to let go of someone so close. Every day is hard.

It's hard to accept what is versus what we want and I know exactly the feeling that you're going through right now. It's one of the most gut wrenching experiences you've probably ever felt as I am feeling the same way. However, I promise you it will get better and you will be able to keep pushing forward every day. Every day is hard but one day you're going to wake up and it's going to get easier and easier and then one day you'll wake up and ask yourself why you were even upset in the first place.
