My beloved late husband and I met after being set up by a friend. He said he took one look at me and before he’d even said hello, told himself silently “I’m going to marry that girl”. On our second date he arrived with 2 dozen red roses. 2 months later we moved in together. It was just like 2 comets streaking across the sky. In addition to being the worlds sweetest, most wonderful man who put me before anything else, it didn’t hurt that he was 6’4” and DDG. But that was beside the point. For 38 years he was the best reason to open my eyes every day. But fast moving Parkinson’s disease took him; I only had him on hospice for 6 days. His last words to me were “Do you have any idea how much I love you?”
I doubt there’ll ever be another love in my life but after what I was privileged to have I can’t complain.

This is a common story I hear from people in long, happy marriages: The man knew right away the moment the couple met. I was there the night a friend of mine met her husband. I could tell he was smitten with her right away. He told the buddy he was with that night “I’m going to marry that girl.” They’re still together and that was 20 years ago.
My brother told me this. And I take it to heart. "If he's into you he'll make time for you."

Ummm yes and no. The time He gives...is he on his phone the whole time...playing video games and not speaking to you? Time is time but how you spend it is how you tell if he loves you.

I feel it in my bones when a man isn’t that into me. Things just don’t add up: excuses, etc. My mother always told me that a man who is interested in you will climb a mountain to see you. If he isn’t interested, he will avoid that mountain.
My uncle would walk from one town to the next to see my aunt when they were dating in the 60s. It would take him 3 hours there...to walk...to see her and 3 hours back....they have been married for 50+ years

Oddly, many people misphrase this as "whenever somebody tells you who they are, believe them" 😆
So, after spending years on dating apps, I found men in their 30's just want to have fun, casual because they think that they're young still, and has a lot of time to think about in serious relationship.
Now, men in their 40's they're just got out divorced, and they still feels guilty towards their kid(s) so they would prioritize the kid rather pursue a serious relationship.
And lastly, men in their 50's, they just got out of decades of relationship, divorced, kids are all grown up, empty nester, and now they're saying it's Me Time, so they would live they're life like they're in their 20's and 30's, casual sex, drinking like in college, staying up all night at the bar, hitting up with women left and right, which they never had the experience because they married early and forced to be serious about life and be a provider.
So, it's like looking for a unicorn nowadays. Men would always not serious about women and would always not into them unless they are doing it for their own benefits. And not because of LOVE.

I think men are only serious in the moment they think about creating a family, in this case they commit. Doesn't mean they don't cheat. But they commit to a relationship. Other than that, I think most men prefer to be free as a bird and just enjoy life and sex with many different women. They don't want a commited relationship. I think we have to accept it for what it is.
I had him. He is everything described in this video, and I wasted 2 years of my life that I will never get back. But as soon as my eyes opened, I was out, and I ain't looking back.
Happened to me too and countless other ladies. They are manipulators and only feel you just enough to get what THEY want. I'm glad to hear that you got out. You deserve way better.

thank you , just6 spent 7 months , I put in 79 percent and he put in a little 21 percent , thank God I left that maid service ,
1. He is slow to text or call you back. ✔ (wasn't at first, but is now)
2. He is only interested in meeting up if sex is involved. ❌
3. He doesn't give you prime time in his calendar. ✔
4. He dangles commitment but never follows through. ❌
5. He downplays important moments because he's playing Mr. Cool. I'm not Mr Romantic etc. ✔
6. He's only around when its convenient. ❌
7. He is extremely uncomfortable when talking about his feelings. ❌
I don't know what to think about my relationship. I'm not happy clearly. He was perfect at start. But its like now that he has me, there's no more effort. I love him but I know from experience sometimes we love and still have to let them go. But at my age it's not easy to find someone. That's the hard part.

@shehnazjabeen6513 since I first commented, we have broken up. I have learned that I was used and he's been talking to women on dating sites the entire time. I did have a talk with him and he said his feelings just faded away. Well duh dumbass. When you don't put an effort in, don't give her any attention or time, what would you expect? Its not always unicorns, and fairy dust and butterflies. 7 yrs and I don't know how much of that time I was played. I do believe he had feelings and good intentions at the start. BUT he stole years from me and that's not right. He's a player. And too old to be playing games. Or just don't get in relationships if you want to play games. Play games. But with the right people.
Been on few relationships before and I always beg for bare minimum. But now, someone came and I'm so happy because he value me. Everything I beg before to guys, he is giving it all even when I'm not saying it. So girls, value your self. Don't be afraid to start again. Who knows that ghosting or breakup really did saved you ❤️

The big one: He doesn’t acknowledge you on social media.. A guy who is really into you will scream from the mountain tops “I’m with HER!” All his friends and family know about you. They might even wish he’d shut up already about you. He makes it clear you’re the woman in his life on social media. If this isn’t happening, you should consider yourself still single.

I needed this video this week, so thank you! All of your videos are clear and easy to understand. I find in my dating experience that if a man that normally texts back frequently and quickly but starts to take longer and has a change in energy, that may be a tell tale sign (among others) that he's not that interested! Watch his actions and patterns ladies, save yourself the heartbreak!!!
Forgetting my birthday is a deal breaker! Anytime I allowed this one get a pass its always led to a disaster and more regrets so now forget my birthday I forget him.
My boyfriend forgot my birthday twice. He said he put it in his Google calendar but when he got a new phone it didn't transfer over. Then one month later on the same day he said he got his Google reminder. I'm thinking if I was important to him he wouldn't need a Google reminder, he would remember my birthday on his own. What do you think? But I feel childish breaking up with him because he forgot my birthday. I told him birthdays were very important to me. For his 50th birthday, I gave him a special party and we celebrated together. For my 50th, I got nothing. He couldn't even remember my special day. He tried to tell me he never remembers birthdays, not even his own son's. I'm confused because I have feelings for him but I don't want to live the rest of my life with someone who doesn't remember my birthday. What should I do? Or am I being selfish?
The guy I was head over heels about forgot my birthday for 4 years straight, AND my birthday is on a holiday! He also only wants to meet up when we are alone. He cancels when we have plans to meet in public. I’m not in his prime time either. Matt is totally correct.

Well, he liked to do things together by saying...we can do this....we could go there...., but never did. So I realized, he is not realy serious about what he was saying and we started growing apart. I would say I found the true meaning of a booty call recently, when a guy I thought was just being careful would message me, tell me he misses me thinking of me, tell me he wants to spend time with me, then go silent for three days, then video call me and ask if I’m up for a visit 😢💔
But now after watching this, I can see I was more invested in him, then he was with me
I like to establish a friendship first and really get to know who he really is.
Once we pass that point, however, I won’t settle for half in half out .

Just had 18 months of my time wasted. Pretty obvious when they "forget" your birthday and downplay it that they dont really bother with gifts or celebrations. Yup they would for the lady they really want. Always observe their actions and listen to your gut instincts. If it looks like a rat, it is a rat. Im on my own now but its better than being forgotten about and they expect you to be available to only them and fuss over them. Thanks Matt, this was a very helpful video. Love your channel. ❤
This is one of the best videos that I have watched as it has made some sense of what went wrong in past relationships
1) When you both have time off work and he asks you when you're together the week prior about your schedule but doesn't then call you to plan anything. That's an indicator he wants you to do all the work.
2) When he tells you "I don't think we work together well," then a week later calls you last minute to meet him and his friends somewhere 45 minutes away from your home.
3) When he straight up calls himself a confirmed bachelor who has nothing against marriage but has never thought about it for himself.

And right from the jump he told me that he was not looking for anything serious. So OK I thought I would "one and done" him for sex (which I did/very disappointed in that too). So immediately told him that I met someone else and I would have to cease all contact with him. He was just using me for companionship and wonderful dates with a fine Black sister. Experience has taught me this folks: NEVER LET A MAN TELL YOU TWICE THAT HE DOES NOT WANT YOU!!!!!!!!!
I had been on 1 date with a guy and prior to our second date he told me I would get “bonus points” if I don’t overdress him like the first date. He said he felt insecure because I looked better than him… I was taken aback, I definitely don’t want to be dating an insecure guy. I broke it off before the second date 😅
Edit: We met on a dating app and all my pictures are of me looking nicely dressed (he knew what he was signing up for 😂 take me as I am or not at all), I am into vintage and elegant fashion and always want to dress how I want to be addressed. There’s absolutely no shame in that, I am confident so that may have intimidated him but his loss. I know the right man for me will embrace and be happy for my sense of style ❤

Thank you Mat Boggs, your video opened my eyes about a relationship I have been in where I thought the guy loved me so dearly but with time I have seen weird questions full of ifs and then ending up at the level of my parents don't approve interracial marriage and I am so sorry for causing you pain. I understand that if he was so serious that he would go out of his way and showcase me to his family to get them convinced with me with the purpose for them to know me and I to know them. Your video opened my eyes to let go of him and not to keep hope that one day he will come back to me and say I still love you, let me introduce you to my parents or my parents approve of you. After watching your video I felt relieved from the heartbreak I was going through and now I can let go of him, making room for the right person in the future.
