Valkyria Chronicles 4 is a return to form for the series, after the disappointing Valkyria Revolution. But is a return to form enough? Let's discuss. Subscribe for more: / gameranxtv
Valkyria chronicles 1 for the ps3 was a hidden gem. I wasn't really aware that VC was a strategy game when i got it. And i wasn't really a fan of strategy games, but when i played it, it became one of my most favorite game off all time. Alot more people need to plqy this gem.
I only played one game from the series, i dont know which one, but its the one where its avan, and i beat the game and remember finding the ghost tank which was op af
The first game is arguably my favorite PS3 game. I don't regret the hours I put into it. And going back to S rank everything was fun as hell. This is an instant buy.
The first one was fantastic, even to this day its still holds up graphically. The second one was some boring teen school drama bullshit. The 3rd never came to north America. Didnt touch revolution and now im having a blast with 4!
I've been playing 2, on my PSVita and I can see what you mean... but you gotta admit, the character development (although cringey at times) is better than the first game. This is definitely gonna be the first game I'm buying for my Switch when I get it next week.
I personally hope that if this one does very well that 2 and 3 will get a wider and or Western release, possibly as a combo available for multiple systems. Also, as far as Im concerned the games 1-4 are the only in a series. The other that shall not be named was like a bad fan fiction romance for a good series and its existence shall not be mentioned in polite (or living) company
Just finished the demo Word of advice though, it isnt always that unbelievably easy (I did have people die one or 2x though it was due to some stupid errors or underestimating how many damn lancers and grenadiers my opponent had to attack my people with) Played VC1 years ago before it was remastered on ps4 and there are a few missions there where youre just like "...oh cmon!!!! How am I supposed to stop all those tanks or evade that one shot killing Valkyrur?" or you are behind enemy lines which means no support. Dont know how the story of this game will play out when it is done but that was a major plus in the first game
@@15thCrypt that's the fun of it me thinks. Being at the point of losing not sure what to do then you look over the map and you go "ah ha!" and win the day. Tho the "hard mode dlc" versions of skirmishes always made me question what I knew about VC.
Bought the switch collectors edition. Mostly for the tank. Opened the shipping box and saw the bag with the dog and I'm thinking wtf is this? Some kinda switch case?
I'm playing 4 on the Switch right now, and I like it a lot! I went to the trouble of importing the PSP entries way back when, but this one is definitely a huge entry. Loving it so far and, as you say, a great entry point for newcomers.
The first game is severely underrated and one of my favourites on PS3. So much so that I also bought it on PC just to support them. The battle system works the way Xcom should have.
This game is so much fun. I like it even more than the first game of the series. The grenadier is a great new class and the APC and the Commander actions to move multiple characters at once are such great additions.
I remember the first game, I really liked it then some of the battles just got sooo long, and if you end up dying I found it hard to want to play again, because it was like an hour of fighting wasted.
Awesome, this is what I wanted to hear. Valkyria Chronicles was so unique, love to hear they've gone back to their roots and even improved what was already phenomenal game play.
I picked the first one up a few years ago on a steam sale on a whim and loved it and was crushed when it seemed there wasn't going to be anymore coming to PC. So to see the series rolling out fresh made me glad I could scoop up a copy on my switch. I'm having a blast with it and the new class and APC that you get later on.
I'm about halfway through it so far and I'm loving it. It does re-use a lot of assets from the original game, right down to character models if you get the DLC, but it's so stylish you hardly notice it. One thing I like about this game a lot is that the grading system is a bit more forgiving than the first game. In Valkyria 1 it often felt like there was only 1 strategy that could get you an A, and sometimes you had to make PERFECT use of every point of AP on every move to get it, sometimes making impossible lancer shots from across the entire map, and there was really no way to do it without a guide.
no ... it was a terrible review which couldnt even be called a review in the first place since its just 12 h in ... also it basically didn´t cover any shortcoming ... also all clips demonstrated how friggin terrible he is at the game
EXTREMELY good story in this game and the entire game was nostalgic and it was amazing. Sure, the mechanics are pretty much the same with the same timeline as well, but the game was amazing and my followers enjoyed me streaming it as I played through it. I personally would recommend this game 10 times over if you like unique games that no other game in the world has taken the concept of and done it as well as Valkyria Chronicles does. I really liked all the new stuff they added in this game though lol, having the various tanks, ship, and other crazy commands was a huge plus for me too. Once I got Minerva lol I was invincible, her leading the grenadiers to front line and wiping out everyone on enemy turn was a bit OP. I liked that a bit too much since I made sure to use it every single turn lol.
This video made me want to get the game. I was kind of interested because some youtubers I know play it but this video really made it easy to buy and try it out.
I just played 3hrs of it last night. If I'd known that it wasn't like a normal JRPG I most likely wouldn't have gotten it. I thought it was a normal traverse the world, do quests, collect new party members but with a strategy element to the battles. lol.
@@WhiskeyBlack777 Update: I've started playing it and loving it. It definetely is scratching that Fire Emblem Itch I have. Wait I'm confused, so you're not enjoying the game right now?
@@ArturKwaszyn Really? The only gripe I have with the game is how easy it is, but if I focus on trying to get high ranks and actually strategize it's a little harder.
@@absurdturk well, yeah, at least in my opinion. It's not a classic rpg game, not a typical strategy game, you move your characters on your own, but you don't do the shooting. Imho it's a mix of genres.
The game was incredible! So good and the difficulty was much higher than in the first one, even with the reduced tank costs and the ability to command troops. I thought grenadiers were going to break the game, but then I realized how much harder they made the game for me when there was stupid grenadiers placed just far enough from your team being able to meaningfully advance.
You're review got me to buy the game on sale, I never played any of the previous games either. I just love the concept, turn based gameplay, and a good story. Can't wait to start playing it
VC4 is the epitome of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, which then added quite a bit on top of the already-good formula (a la Grenadiers, the new SP movement system, 1 CP to move vehicles, snipers and lancers able to perform group attacks, replaying Story missions in your first playthrough). That said, there are a couple of “quality of life” bits I wish VC4 brought to the table after all this time; chief among them: The option to enable Auto-playing the Visual Novel bits between the missions. As well, the ability to have an Order to swap your secondary vehicle (some missions using the APC is super useful in the beginning, but loses usefulness in the second half; or vice-versa). But these are nit-picks. Everyone’s out here complaining about Diablo 4, Overwatch 2, etc… and I’m having an absolute blast instead playing the Valkyria games again.
Wow, I bought this game on a whim yesterday and really kinda digging it. It is very different from traditional jrpgs and the way that it's played so I was curious to see what other reviewers thought.
I REALLY love this channel, I trust the reviews and I just saw this game in Gamestop the other day and was interested in buying it. After seeing the review, I'm definitely going to go buy it, thanks!
First one was on my backlog for awhile now, so seeing the 4th was coming i had to finish it. Love the music and look forward to hearing more from Hitoshi Sakimoto. Also look forward to returning to Europa and seeing what ways this game connects to the first one.
As a player of the original but none of the others i can give a very good opinion on how it stacks up to number one. For me the main differences are that VC 4 has a more appealing story in my opinion. You are essentially doing Operation Barbarossa in valkyria chronicles but you are the good guys. It has darker sections than the original and much more developed an complex characters. To me the story just feels like a more grown up version of the original and i love it. The gameplay is identical bar the new class which is extremely powerful. The squad stories are far more detailed than before and in most cases make the supporting cast feel just as important as the main characters which can make for some real emotional moments if you have completed their stories and then you almost or do lose them in battle, knowing they are gone for good and not knowing how it will affect their friends. overall this is what we have been waiting for.
thank you for proving my point. You are the good guys because you play as Claude and squad E. also i wouldn't say just as bad. I would say just as shady.
@@n0rman908 i would call it a giant spectrum of grey tbh. no one is "bad" or "evil" or "good" in this game (if these things exist at all lel^^), they are all people with bad and good aspects to their characters, some more to one side than the other, and the game really does a great job of showing you that.
Moving units is far smoother however I am slightly concerned down the line since tanks cost 1CP vs 2 prior. Unless those are hero specific tanks in which case I won't have to worry much
Sooo happy we have a Sniper as a leader class, so many times I would want a sniper but not have enough space because I would always deploy Largo even when I didn't need lancers just to have the extra CP
If there's one thing that disappoints me about 4, it's that they didn't really do much to combat Scout Rushing being the best tactic in the game. Sure, you can appoint an unit as commander now to have others follow them, letting somebody drag slower units alongside them, but it takes until Chapter 10 for you to get a Scout commander, and your next fastest unit is shocktrooper, who really aren't that fast. But yeah, it's more of the same as first game, just more polished. If you stripped away the numbers from the titles, nobody would be able to tell that this was fourth instalment in the series, released 10 years after the first one.
Didn't know this game was that popular, the day VC4 came out I had to go to three stores and got the VERY last copy... at 3pm in the afternoon. Such a good game.
I love VC 1 and 2. wish 3 could be brought over, but really glad VC4 made it. Thanks to Sega for giving fans another true entry. Now do a proper Shining Force.
already brought it, definitely worth the money and time even with experience with few strategy games and experience from valk 1, I still find the level design challenging and interesting
What gets me about VC 1 is that I was expecting a squad based tactical shooter like Xcom with a twist on it. Instead it felt like I was playing a puzzle solving game since the game rewarded you way more for completing missions as soon as possible rather than by how many objectives you got, how many enemies you killed, or how many of your squad mates you got through the mission safely. It just really bugged me that Largo and Rosie were only useful to have on the field for their command point, and basically just sat at base for entire matches since moving them would be so cost inefficient. Scouts were just too good to not use. I always felt like with over other class I had to move them 2-3 more times to be able to get them into positions to be used effectively. Tanks just cost way too much. And like orders were too good. Orders were just way more useful to use then to even think about moving other troops that couldn’t catch up to combat or to have them retreat then be summoned at other captured bases. Literally people keep saying just don’t use orders if you wanna have fun, but removing a game mechanic by player choice for fun is a stupid idea to me. At the end of the day it felt like a puzzle solving one man army with order stacking game rather than the tactical squad based ww2 game I was looking for. I wish the game was a more balanced experience and so I hope VC 4 resolves the balance issues or at least makes it less cheesable for you and the AI.
From what i hear scouts are still powerful, but to compensate they made it difficult to have the enemy command bases captured by round 1 and other small teaks that make them less useful, but still powerful, the orders ive been told can still break the game, but its harder to cheese the game like in VC 1 to get the extremely powerful ones
At chapter 4 they start to throw a lot of turrets and bunkers at you. Along with the new Grenadier class and their long range interception fire Scouts can get mowed down very very quickly. Snipers and Grenadiers are very useful to clear a path and since moving your Tank only costs one CP now its also a lot more useful. The first "Boss fight" at the end of chapter 4 was one of most stressful fights I recently had in a game.
@@riemaennchen your gonna get a command that uses SP that allows you to move up to 3 units at a time and resets their AP so they can go far and set up triple attacks. Be prepared to use the Mortar/Grenade Laucher a lot in future battles as every map has enemy Mortars/Grenade Launchers in hidden places that can only be hit by another Mortar/Grenade Launcher. . . Unless you want to charge at it and get shredded by gattling guns.
Bravo_Delta 312 I know about the SP thing. Chapter 4 second battle is where you get it. Running around with 3 Shocktroopers at once isn't the best use of this but its fun to do sometimes. I also really like the APC you get. Getting a Sniper fast and save to a tower early on in a battle can make quite the difference. I think Kai hasn't missed a single shot yet.^^
Aaron Crook well, the tanks in VC1 were almost useless, the light tank i only moved him one time and was in the mission were you have to escape the enemy battleship that is going to attack the capital, and the lancers becomes useless when you have the penetration order, that make the shooktroopers and scouts better anti tanks units riemaennchen well to be honest, the scouts in the vc1 are really weak, Alicia was the one that was broken because of her Valkyria blood,
Just started it and it's amazing so far. The only thing I feel is missing is the melee class from VC2. I liked having the sword and shield troops along with my traditional gun based units.
To be honest, the melee class in VC2 is completely useless and overpowered at the same time. Armored Techs are useless and can't even kill anything in one shot while Fencers are stupidly OP because they can literally one shot everyone while having strong defense. VC3 nerf the fencer class but they made it worst. They nerf the defense and their shield to the ground to the point that they cant even kill anyone before they slice them open first. I prefer them to be gone rather than seeing them back in VC4 unless they balance those class by making Fencer classes moves really fast as scouts and making the Armored Techs a portable sandbag. (Just like the feature of Armored Techs in VC3 but more refined and useful for other units)
VC2 is the one I had the most fun playing with the most replay value. I enjoyed messing with the different classes and crafting mechanics of the game. In fact it’s one of the things I miss most when playing Valkyrie Chronicles 4. I wish it was more open and less linear.
Games like this, it doesn't matter at all if the graphics change at all or improve. Already the art style is timelessly good. The stylized comic art is as good as any comic book and the art style is just perfect in this series so it's great the devs saw this point and continue to make this great game using what works. I wish more games would realize this and make more games in a series more often. Like Jagged Alliance 2 or the more recent XCOM games, or what I'm into now, Battletech.
I'm new to the series (my first entry being valkyria revolutions), and I am absolutely loving it, some of the interactions between the main characters make me actually laugh, which is weird because most media's Ideas of funny moments just make me cringe.
Jumping the series to another platform was a deal breaker for me so I pretty much forgot about it until I saw this game on steam today. Still debating whether to get it or not but I'm glad to hear it's identical to the original in game mechanics.
Hakeem Lawus There's two main types of JRPG. Traditional/Turn Based JRPGs and Action JRPGs. An example that shows off the core mechanics of most Traditional/Turn Based JRPGs is Battle Chasers: Nightwar (an American made game). Two examples that show off the core mechanics of most Action JRPGs are Final Fantasy XV and DragonBall Xenoverse.
It's also worth noting that 2 and 3 didn't come out on home consoles, only PSP, so this is only the 2nd game in the mainline series on home console since the 1st game. So this is a very welcome return and I'm glad they didn't mess it up.
Got the game on release as i'm a massive fan of the series and i love it. The gameplay and the formula which worked so well before is still as good if not better this time. It really helps get rid of that bad memory called Revolution as well :D.
Loved the first game, never got into the second one due to not really interested in owning a PSP. Should play the 3rd game w/fan patch sometime. Didn't hesitate to pre-order 4. Loving every minute of it. As a WWII buff I think it's pretty hilarious that Operation Northern Cross has totally been an analogy for Operation Barbarossa for so much of the narrative!
I pre-ordered this game after finishing VC1 and I started playing day one. Now I'm 24 hours into it and I'm not even 1/4 the way finished. Definitely worth $60 imo.
As a veteran of Valkyria 1 but a adamant hater of 2 & 3, I can say 4 is definitely the sequel I wanted. Good improvements of the grass roots gameplay with a new class that feels natural instead of a Warhammer insert (fencers I'm looking at you). Importantly as well, the story is more relatable and fleshed out (its no longer "Literal school children save Gallia!" or "Ragtag group of losers prevents nuclear detonation") especially with an established military squad instead of something contrived.
i have played VC 1 and 4. and i am glad they stuck with the same formula without making it the same. They added gameplay, more story and improved where it needed without reworking features that already worked. I love the fact that they made it so the other squad members has such destinct personalities and backgrounds to where i can pick my favorites and care about them while thowing the ones i dislike to the bench and never see them again. XD i say this game is a really solid ' chill' game where you can take your time and relax.
Recently got the first game, 30+ hours in now, and it's been an engrossing experience, really enjoying it...that is until I got to chapter 14 showdown at naggiar (2)...I'd like to purchase this game as well as I really enjoy the gameplay mechanics and managing the forces, the story is interesting as well. Thanks for the review.
I’m late to the party but I bought the first while on sale a few months ago and missed part 4 on sale. Right now both are on sale and I picked up the complete edition with all dlc for $24. Not a bad buy! With this corona bullshit this has given me another game added to the stockpile to get through. I still haven’t played part 1 lol but the reviews for these games look amazing and it was a no brained purchase for me. Just wanted to drop a message in case anyone is looking at reviews because of the current sale going on right now or those that may be on the fence to purchase at full price!
I heard that they fix'd the class system in VC3 and kind of wish it was here but other then that the game's been really fun. They also really improved the use of tanks in this game.
I've played VC2 on the PSP and it was really interesting new kinda jrpg that I played back then. It wasn't boring at all and the missions were so fun to play. Also I liked the story the most in VC2 because I started college at that time and the game's story was based on military academy students as well.
Ashchi Salleh Ikr most of them havent even played the game and they hate it like its their business. It was a true sequel to the first game with tons of new stuff added into the game for the first time. Haha and thanks
Good review. I think the first Valkyria Chronicles is one of the best games I've played. It's good to know this one will be worth the money. Thank you.
I have been meaning to buy the first game for a while now but never got around to it. I did however get the demo for VC4 since ya know why not, it was there and its free and I had a lot of fun with it! I think im putting tooooo much time into it since I have about 8 hours on it and it's just a demo but the gameplay is just super fun and they give you a lot to do for a demo.
Well said bro, the only thing that the other chronicle games tie into 4 is meeting the main characters from one or coming face to face from what i saw great game, storming the imperial capital as we speak
I've played all Valkyria games to completion 100%, including the black sheep revolution. Currently on chapter 15 of VC4. Overall, this game feels like VC 2.0 and that's good for me. It adds mechanics from the PSP games and enhances them for a more smoother gameplay. Grenadiers are a good change of pace, probably the most usefull class overall, APCs are there to help out who like them, there is a lot of variation in terms of mission objectives. And they added the "squad stories" to every character, much like VC3, making every squad member likeable and unique. In terms of story design, it's... ok? On one hand, since it's on the same timeline as VC1/3, there is no "big" surprise per se, you are just playing as the Federation instead of the militia/nameless. On the other hand, this game suffers from some really mood pacing issues and some pretty plain anime tropes, much like VC2: On one chapter, you are fighting for your life to survive the drastic changes of war, just to be thrown into a full filler chapter next, doing trivial things like mock battles, with the main squad doing "oh no, i looked at your skirt" you would expect to see in an anime. The unskippable extra stories also slows down the pace a little, whislt enjoyable because of Squad E members. All in all, this game is great, for veterans and newcomers, and there is a lot to unlocked/farm/stories/missions, even after post game.
And the complete nonsense twists in the story. I was excited for the game, forced myself to finish it....and for some reason came here to watch this video and comment on this months later.
I LOVE first game and really like the second (Haven't played the third one yet), but tbh I would love for the franchise to move from Second European war to somewhere else.I think there are lots of things to explore in this universe. At least this one is moving out of Gallia.
i bought the game because ppl says it's promising and recommending it to me, didn't realise it's visual novel -> battle -> visual novel -> battle. it isn't really my type of game so this is my first time playing this kind of strategic game. i should've read properly before buying it lmao i'll still continue with the game at least and hopefully i'll come to love this genre too.
lol you guys are right on time I litterally want to buy it today xD I just hope they don't pull the Isara thing again, I cry every time when I see that scene....
As someone who's played 1,2 and this, my only complaint is that I wish we got SOME of the expanded classes from the PSP games. (But definitely not all of them) It would have been nice to have them in just to add a little more variety to the gameplay.
I first saw this game from the youtuber "Prison mate Luke" a channel based on general internet drama, and he occasionally puts VC4 footage in the background, been scrambling to find what this game was called until i had the bright idea to search up one of the characters on google, and boom, there it was, the VC wiki. i think the character was Alicia? Or something? Nevertheless, looking forward to possibly picking this up on steam!

@@WhiskeyBlack777 Update: I've started playing it and loving it. It definetely is scratching that Fire Emblem Itch I have. Wait I'm confused, so you're not enjoying the game right now?
@Absurd Turk it's a weird game, doesn't really fit into a single category. You either love it, or hate it.
It is. The demo let me know right away it was worth buying.
I'm playing VC 1 rn and love this kind of gameplay so much. Eventually gonna work my way up 4.
Wow, I bought this game on a whim yesterday and really kinda digging it. It is very different from traditional jrpgs and the way that it's played so I was curious to see what other reviewers thought.
The first is one of my favorite games of all time, so I'll definitely pick this up pretty soon.
Looks interesting. I think i might get this game just cause Im bored in Uni during day time.:D
Get Octopath Traveler first. Trust. Amazing.
AsenaKar u going to love it trust me have fun
@@sleepyrhythms6668 octopath traveler is very overrated and niche. IDK if op will love it. But enjoy valkirya Chronicles 4 AsenaKar!
Could always...

@@TainoMoya overrated? Nah
What a great review. Made me interested in this game. I've bought 1 for the ps3 and still haven't finished it.
Being able to play this on the go on Switch is just epic. I'm loving it
Valkyria is such a great series. I started with 2 and have never looked back!
" but you are the good guys"
lol the federation is just as shit as the empire claude and the others are outliners
thank you for proving my point.
This is a great game, the system mechanics is perfect and don’t need to be changed. Just give us good stories.
Now do a proper Shining Force.
already brought it, definitely worth the money and time
even with experience with few strategy games and experience from valk 1, I still find the level design challenging and interesting
untill you find out how to orderstack a scout and abuse the APC and direct command properly, but i guess you dont have to do that^^
What gets me about VC 1 is that I was expecting a squad based tactical shooter like Xcom with a twist on it.
Aaron Crook well, the tanks in VC1 were almost useless, the light tank i only moved him one time and was in the mission were you have to escape the enemy battleship that is going to attack the capital, and the lancers becomes useless when you have the penetration order, that make the shooktroopers and scouts better anti tanks units
riemaennchen well to be honest, the scouts in the vc1 are really weak, Alicia was the one that was broken because of her Valkyria blood,
The northern cross is a reference to the operation market garden of the WW2, yet, without paratroopers.... A nice fun fact
Question, are there tanks?
Like, actual tanks?
Dire Firefly yes there are tanks
@@pollymorph6930 ooohh
Games like this, it doesn't matter at all if the graphics change at all or improve. Already the art style is timelessly good. The stylized comic art is as good as any comic book and the art style is just perfect in this series so it's great the devs saw this point and continue to make this great game using what works. I wish more games would realize this and make more games in a series more often. Like Jagged Alliance 2 or the more recent XCOM games, or what I'm into now, Battletech.
VC 3 was very good, despite its console limitations being on the PSP, I weep every time I think about it never being officially localized.
I'm new to the series (my first entry being valkyria revolutions), and I am absolutely loving it, some of the interactions between the main characters make me actually laugh, which is weird because most media's Ideas of funny moments just make me cringe.
I'll probably get it eventually, but not right away. First one was great.
8:13 you missed xD
I love this game really, when I played the Valkyria Chronicles 1 it's awesome.
Preordered as soon as I completed the demo. Never had played one of these games before, now I have all 4 (found an English patch for entry 3).
It's always nice little surprise whenever Falcon is the guy in the video.
this was my first Valkyria game and i loved it super fun
Jumping the series to another platform was a deal breaker for me so I pretty much forgot about it until I saw this game on steam today. Still debating whether to get it or not but I'm glad to hear it's identical to the original in game mechanics.
No idea why people say this is a jrpg, it's a strategy game where you can control players in 3rd person. Great games though
It's a role olaying game from japan... A jrpg
@@EggEnjoyer yeah but jrpg has evolved to mean more than that though. It's it's own actually genre
@@angelcalderon5680 is it? I always thought it was vague like the term anime.
No calls Xcom an RPG, and that has extremely similar gameplay
Hakeem Lawus
There's two main types of JRPG.
7:38 What about Code Name S.T.E.A.M.?
I'd recon they're pretty similar.
There are some similarities with XCOM as well.
That game is literally garbage. One of the worst SRPG I've ever had the inconvenience of having in my 3DS
He means games like Operation Darkness for the xbox 360
I bought this and VC1 during the big in Japan sale. Love the first game so far!
Thx Falcon, I have been watching this one and looks like a great fit for the Switch. I will be picking it up.
I pre-ordered this game after finishing VC1 and I started playing day one. Now I'm 24 hours into it and I'm not even 1/4
the way finished.
Will get this game when it goes on sale never played the series
i have played VC 1 and 4. and i am glad they stuck with the same formula without making it the same.
I found this demo on the switch after figuring how it works it was freakin fun! And very enjoyable.
I played the second, maybe I will play this one. What I remember is that it was surprisingly difficult.
I only ever played the 2nd one on psp. Really loved it so i might give this a look.
Still on sale now!
big fan of the series. I played the demo vc4 and I think I'm gonna buy this on Switch since I feel it'll be a blast to play this on the go
I heard that they fix'd the class system in VC3 and kind of wish it was here but other then that the game's been really fun. They also really improved the use of tanks in this game.
I just found out about this series and I played the VC4 demo and I loved it
I've played VC2 on the PSP and it was really interesting new kinda jrpg that I played back then. It wasn't boring at all and the missions were so fun to play. Also I liked the story the most in VC2 because I started college at that time and the game's story was based on military academy students as well.
Finally found someone who like vc2 .....i will give you hug if I can. They just jealous they can't play the vc2.
Ashchi Salleh Ikr most of them havent even played the game and they hate it like its their business. It was a true sequel to the first game with tons of new stuff added into the game for the first time. Haha and thanks
vc3 story is the best and it is on psp as well... you should give that a go.
VC3 got the best story for me.
Good review. I think the first Valkyria Chronicles is one of the best games I've played. It's good to know this one will be worth the money. Thank you.
FINALLY!!!! now i just need to wait for sale....
Hello, have you got the game?
I have been meaning to buy the first game for a while now but never got around to it. I did however get the demo for VC4 since ya know why not, it was there and its free and I had a lot of fun with it! I think im putting tooooo much time into it since I have about 8 hours on it and it's just a demo but the gameplay is just super fun and they give you a lot to do for a demo.
Well said bro, the only thing that the other chronicle games tie into 4 is meeting the main characters from one or coming face to face from what i saw great game, storming the imperial capital as we speak
Love this series! Played all of them.
Played the first one on steam absolutely loved hope 4 does well and maybe we can finally see the release of 3 to the west.
will play it when regional pricing is fixed. loved all main line VC games(even 2 to some extend)
I just bought it cuz it was 50% off in the SWITCH
Ok ... and?
The 4th is my first and I have been quite surprised
I LOVE first game and really like the second (Haven't played the third one yet), but tbh I would love for the franchise to move from Second European war to somewhere else.I think there are lots of things to explore in this universe. At least this one is moving out of Gallia.
I'm most likely gonna get it. I've played the demo and it was fun.
I ordered the collectors edition for this game that's how much i like the series. The game is great so far
i bought the game because ppl says it's promising and recommending it to me, didn't realise it's visual novel -> battle -> visual novel -> battle. it isn't really my type of game so this is my first time playing this kind of strategic game. i should've read properly before buying it lmao i'll still continue with the game at least and hopefully i'll come to love this genre too.
lol you guys are right on time I litterally want to buy it today xD I just hope they don't pull the Isara thing again, I cry every time when I see that scene....
I am thinking of getting this game when I finish building my pc. I am really thankful that this is multiplatform.
any way i just watch & cry ( because there is no money )
Hello, have you got the game yet?
@@Perfixel no😥
As someone who's played 1,2 and this, my only complaint is that I wish we got SOME of the expanded classes from the PSP games. (But definitely not all of them) It would have been nice to have them in just to add a little more variety to the gameplay.
Thank goodness they did not continue with that last release. I wanted to cry when I played that last one. I’m really excited for this.
I like it how he never mentioned the second game even know in my opinion it’s the best gale
Dang, this game looks very similar to Fire Emblem. I think I’ll check this out. Thanks for the info, guys!
I'm actually looking forward to the dlc too
Got this the day it launched for my Switch. Very worth.
