    Nice video as always tasos, this is a sign of a worn vacuum pump.. oil would definitely reduce the lifespan of the rubber membranes. Seen this happen with many bmw engines & mini turbo charged units

    Tasos, I have a camshaft on m157 that goes to 35 degree instead of 45 on tester , should I replace the electric magnet actuator or dismantle and check camshaft magnet body?

    my m157 turbo actuator is rattling on drivers side when coming off boost. Is only way to fix to replace turbo?

    I just don't understand how to calculate the correct adjustment for the actuator rod; using a tape measure does not work. Code P029900 on a 2017 C43 AMG Turbo 1 (passenger side on left hand drive vehicles)
    I know you are supposed to use a vacuum gun, but I do not know what to do with it to adjust the rods.
    My next guess is to just tighten or loosen the nut until it moves at the same speed the other turbo does. Any ideas or thoughts?

    I imagine the vacuum pump is oil lubricated and eventually starts to leak internally into the system? Just a guess. Have you heard of anyone using that vacuum pump to plumb an oil catch can between the vacuum pump and one of the valve covers to help prevent oil consumption and seal the engine better?

    I see you are having fun. Yap, if there is that much oil going through the vacuum line there are bigger problems than the waste gate actuator

    Hey Tasos thanks for sharing, my check valve on vacuum pump broke and my wastegate actuators are filled with oil badly, i have no idea how to get to the pin that holds the actuator together with wastegate arm, is there a trick how to take that pin out without removing turbos , maybe from underneath? Ive already bent alluminium heat shield but still cant get to it, its on s63 coupe btw, i got them blowing oil like crazy when just move the shaft still attached to the wastegate in horizontal position haha such a stupid wuestion but i just dont see a way to remove them without taking turbos off, ill bet u got ur tricks :)

    • @TasosMoschatos
      @TasosMoschatos  Před rokem +1

      You just have to remove the heat shield ( 2 bolts only and pull it out ), flat screwdriver, magnet and 10mm spanner for the 2 nuts of the actuator

      You’re the man! Thanks Tasos, few years back ive fixed my blown gasket on m156 cls63 (first time ever even taking valve covers and spark plugs:)) thanks to your videos taken both heads off got them resurfaced got valve job done, then put everything back together set timing per ur directions, ive put over 50k miles since with no problems and use the car as daily ever since. You saved me thousands of dollars and helped me with a quality mechanic work that is hard to find nowaydays! Keep up the great work my friend im pretty sure ill need to use your videos in the future as amg person !

    Hi love the video! I got a check engine light on my 2014 CLS 550. The code is P0299 "Turbocharger UNderboost" . I have talked to a couple of people and they say it might be the wastegate actuator or the whole vacuum pump. what do you think it might be?
