Hi, i can feel there's no play in the rod from the actuator at all. But there's still a chance that the wastegate flapper is loose? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
If you use an external gated downpipe or you port the wastegate hole you shouldn't have an over boost issue. You have to slowly ramp up the boost and keep an eye on it.
what helps is a little bike pump and compressed air into the wastegate to extend arm this makes install and removal easy when you have alot of preload on gate
Hey I liked the video I have a turbo'ed Nissan Juke. Had it Dyno tuned with stock wastegate control armand stock turbo, I feel like I'm loosing power or boost so I gave the actuator a clockwise turn and never felt a bit of difference.. I ordered a new wastegate control arm which is stock at 7 PSI or LB's of pressure. I bought an upgraded turbo smart control arm and never put it on because it's a 14PSI spring inside.. I was wondering if I am tuned to 15 PSI and swop out the 7psi actuator control arm for the 14 PSI TS control arm.. Will it mess up my tune or will it just add another 7 lb's of boost to the tune or car???
My wastegate arm has hella play in it like I can pull it out to max with no restriction at all. Is that normal ? It's an AGP wastegate. Maybe the spring is broken?
if i didnt get anything wrong, you ve increased the arm length of the actuator. but it reduces the regulated pressure. it will open the by-pass way sooner than before. you need to decrease and take the spring force so the spring activates later. this would have increase pressure but could damage inlet pipes and intercooler.
You should definitely slightly tighten the lock nut on the actuator rod. This neutralizes the stress load on the threads and minimizes wear with use. Last thing you need is the rod failing.
@@johndo2o9 technically no, but if this is too loose you'll get slow spool and if it's too tight your boost will spike when you first get on it and then taper off.

I have a 2020 f350 6.7 diesel and the waste gate creates some clicking noises after I turn off the engine. It also give me P2565 code and check engine light on. Any idea what is the problem?
Actuator/puck control the boost along with adjustment I make on the rod. For bracket racing I use 23 lbs of boost on a conservative tune. Car runs right around 7 flat at 100 in the 1/8 at 23 lbs of boost...equivalent of 11 flat in the 1/4.
When you back it off you drop the boost. Tightening it will raise it. As he said he backed it off to about 16 pounds. Then every turn to tighten it roughly increases it by 1 pound.
Logan it's ABOUT 1 pound of boost on the Buicks. For your application, I don't know. You have to add fuel as you increase boost, as the AF leans out as you add boost.
Buy a aftermarket adjustable waste gate actuator that has adjustable springs, the ecu will adjust the boost electronically but for example if your turbo can handle 30+psi but your wastegate actuator will only hold 15psi even tho you set your ecu to 20+psi it will only be at 15psi if boost because of your stock actuator. See the turbos limits on max psi ratings and look into upgrading the wastegate actuator or leave it completely open to get the stututu sound and then adjust your standalone accordingly.
No...this is strictly for TR's...and you have to add fuel as you raise boost or the engine will lean out. You also have to be aware of heat/humidity as well. It's a real balancing act.
