1. Remove the silencer ring.
2. Take off the intake baffle.
3. Get a huge turbo that blows your engine.
4. Rebuilt
5. Have fun again
Intake muffler
@@theoalbert897 yeah intake muffler😂
It wouldnt blow the engine.
It would blow the piston and intake manifold.
@@chillingdog4139 ...
1: legit. Definitely improves sound and it's fairly cheap
2: mostly affects exhaust notes. You'll need a straight pipe to hear the turbo spool through an exhaust
3: improving boost pressure may affect the pitch of the spooling, hardly the volume.
Here's how you do it:
1: fit an open air filter like said
2: remove the insulating blanket from your bonnet
3: upgrade your turbo (yeah really)
That's it. That's all you can do.
I’ve been having a hard time trying to tease arch and understand for what I can do to make an ecoboost exhaust louder and the spool, my question is can you have a catted down pipe and straight pipe??
The hero we don't deserve!
What a bonnet and insulating blanket
Also most cars has a turbo muffler. U can get that out also if u use change the pipes it changes tone aswell.
What about smooth metal intake piping vs corrugated plastic, and piston type CBVs made of billet? Both of those seemed to increase the turbo volume of my S60R by a LOT
My car is technically a sleeper until the turbo spools, then people start looking for the invisible semi truck.
SirSquash i guess you drive a cummins 🤔
Haryo Dwipo he said car, not truck
@@sheldon8801
And then he said people look for the invisible semi truck. Insinuating his car sounds like a truck. Which I guarantee it does not.
I drive a diesel jetta, people think it sounds like a truck lol
Shlushe 10 Jetta gang👍
Or you can just play turbo noises on CZcams through your car’s speakers while you’re driving. Cheap and effective.
Oof
Or if u want a cheap supercharger get a computer fan n stick it in ya grill or on the roof n der u have a supercharge wine
Hahahaha
This is probably true. Having a noisy exhaust is something that only you want to hear and your neighbours don't. Don't run the exhaust into the passenger compartment to hear extra noise, it is not only hot and smelly, but will kill you. (This is a safety recommendation to backwards-wearing baseball cap drivers)
Effective?
Meanwhile here in Germany:
- Open sport filter: illegal
- Downpipe without cat: illegal
Savage Sloth It is in pretty much all places, it just happens in some states that you don't get inspected.
Illegal here. Some places they don't typically check if you don't have inspections or exhaust emition checks. I wish he would specify why you shouldn't do it or the risks.
Come to Australia. Every engine mod is illegal unless you get it Mod plated.
@@Smerdzy in Germany you cant even plate most mods. There are Mods that will not even get a plate if you spent 10k euro
@@bencline1915 most of these Mods should be legal if you pay the Inspection. Its not like there is no safe way of installing these
1. remove intake piping
2. floor it lots
3. wind the windows down when driving so u can hear it better
All I see is “will cause”
• pops
• Bang
• & stututu
Exactly hahahah!
Another way to get your turbo louder is with a flash “shows 800hp evo”
For 10gen Civics I have had good luck with the TurboXS Hybrid blowoff valve. It diverts enough pressure back into the system to keep the AFR in check and the ECU happy but still blows off enough to get a decent sound. I am in a 2020 Civic Si with the 1.5T running a KTuner and TPS Stage 1 tune for a while now and no issues and my gas mileage. Well I drove from San Diego to LA going well over the limit and I still managed 36 Miles a gallon.
1: turn it up to 5 bar DONE!
2. buy a new engine
@@L39T 3. Repeat😁😀
Love it bro! Thanks for the info and great job with the editing!
Thanks bro!
Granny shiftin, not double clutchin like ya should
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Almost had me you never had me dude you never had your car 😝😝😝 almost had me
I still don’t understand what that means...
Not necessary for upshifts
@@metrokett no one says it is but thank you for agreeing with common belief
Also for all of you that don’t know, if your turbo has a compressor rpm sensor port in the side of the housing you can take the bung out and it’ll produce way more noise. And no, it will not create a boost leak either.
Haha you said Bung
"I am the great BUNG HOLIO"
As a content creator myself, VERY NICE thumbnail! I was looking for videos on a glowshift afr that I am installing on my turbo civic but this vid caught my eyeballs.
Also:
1.BOV
2. Force closed throtle ompressor surge
3. Steel compressor wheels
4. Waste gate springs
5. Aluminum Intercooler piping.
Compressor surge will destroy your turbo
@@carsonpecore9347 only open throttle compressor surge.
@@carsonpecore9347 no it won’t if you have an uprated one
@@bespoke500 yeah ball bearings can take it.
@@carsonpecore9347 no it wont, that's a myth
Just add 10 more stickers
Nice video , keep pushing and building we look forward to more content
2016 Focus ST3 owner here ~ good thing is focus' (any model) comes with an adaptive ecu, so making the switch to a BOV from a diverter valve wouldnt be a problem after about 50 miles.
On my 2.0t FSI replacing the stock turbo outlet muffler with a "delete" kit (gets rid of the factory turbo silencer that has two huge slits in it to purposefully reduce turbo noise for driver comfort, with pretty much a solid pipe) increased my spool noise ALOT. Then I got a Forge diverter and I increased like 100 Smiles Per Gallon! (If you've got a diverter car, and are so lame you just want BOV noise to impress the princess at your next LARP meet, they make diverter valve spacers for you)
I feel like this guy made the video for a class but still is dummy good information great job
Great Video, Thank you!
Yay some great vids from home
subbed! love your stuff, thanks for the love
What a great and comprehensive video, thanks for the info
I make sound effects with my mouth. Works like a charm
What a great tuner thats also not overpriced
You can also do a sound tube to the cabin. If I remember correctly, I saw a video of a supercharged Mustang, that had a sound tube from the intake if the supercharger, to the driver area. It was just a pipe, from between the filter & supercharger, to this hard plastic screen or cap on the other end, vibrating the air like a speaker, bringing the natural supercharger sounds right to the driver.
Turbo muffler delete is a great way to get some more spooly boi noises, not a lot of money either, like half what a nice CAI will cost you if you can install it yourself. For diverter valve cars, the DV+ kit by Go Fast Bits is a great buy. More durable than stock diverters and makes nice blow off sounds.
That white evo on the dyno though...👌🏽
yes. this video is freaking amazing. love
Helped me so much
A video that is actually helpfull
Nice I am going to try that
My camper van is hilarious. She whistles, whoosh and choooo. Wahhhh chooooo!
I'm hit the bell Boton, great ideas
A good hard intake pipe, factory filter, and hard recirculated tube will all make plenty of sounds.
My Volvo S60R had thick insulation on the under side of the hood, removing it drastically increased the sound of the turbo...so much so that little old ladies wave their fists at me in disgust! What more could you ask for!? 😆
I got an 850 t5. Does the engine drone a lot when deleting the insulation?
@@muffe5537
Not at all.
I just drove 60km on the freeway tonight and it's perfectly civilized inside, it's only when you stomp on it that you can really hear the turbo & the bypass fluttering.
The insulation is very easy to put back on if your not happy, just held with plastic clips.
@@johno9507 Guess i'll try it out. Thanks for the answer!
Same, Volvo 850 T5 wagon. Stupid engine blanket muffles quite a lot(which is half its job, so cant be too mad), however removing it will increase the amount of time it takes the engine to warm up(the other half of its job). Id say, pull it in summer, replace in winter.
@@estamnar6092
Thankfully I live in Australia and our winter temperatures are pretty mild compared to the northern hemisphere.
thats awesome!
On god these the questest clips possible
Get a GTI, put a KO4 and go Unitronic stage 2+ w/ catless DP and you’ll have sweet German go kart turbo noises. Best daily 💯
If you own a turbo diesel truck I recommend keeping your stock filter. A cold air intake may draw in hot air from the engine bay. Just make sure you're drawing air from outside
Heck yes.thanks
Siiiick evo !!!!
I bought a 2006 dodge 2500 5.9 cummins I removed the intake restrictions inside the round cylinder piece and the elbow and removed the turbo ring and it screams pretty well
A lot of people say an aftermarket air intake is a waste of money, but with a nice little tune, it can slightly increase power (key word slightly) and make some cool wooshes lol
the first one i get, the second yes you may hear the waste gate more and the turbo may be a bit louder, but an open exhaust is illegal in many states if you get a downpipe make sure you have a custom exhaust done to adhere to local laws (ex.having a catalytic convert added back in after the downpipe). the third one only changes mapping and timing, it does nothing to the sound of a turbo, check your factory turbo for a silencer ring, if it has one remove it, its usually the cold side of the turbo. Other than that, a larger turbo or simply an aftermarket turbo can make a huge difference.
Great vid. I sometimes regret not getting my 2016 civic in the 1.5 turbo
This vid was awesome thankyou keep up the good content 🙌🔥
Nice vidddd
"and you probably don't need to be watching this video if that's you". Still though, not sure why I find these type of videos so entertaining, lol
On the Downpipe: You could get the best of Both worlds with a Downpipe and Sport Catalythic Converter that's stationed somehwere in the middle of the Exhaust System.
I’ve got probably the tiniest Garrett turbo on my cars stock exhaust.. I need more stuuuu
If you have a bypass/diverter valve, just pinch the vacuum line connected to it hard enough and it will give you flutter, pinching it will make the released pressure shoot back into the compressor
And it's bad for the car...
Probably gonna be dropping a different tdi into my jetta next week since im having issues, so im tossing a bit bigger turbo on while im at it. I have one sitting there with almost all the parts. Might straight pipe it too.
thats my kind of guy talking👍
I got a 2015 cruze I’m just gonna do a cold air intake and that’s it for the turbo sound
, other than the increased boost
Easy loud turbo noise with an econo box.
1 . Block the diverter valve.
2 . metal cai to turbo with a dose sleeve right in front of the silicone collar on turbo
3. Moar boost.
This randomly popped up in my feed.. and I felt the sarcasm and disappointment thru out the whole video.... lmaoo
metal intakes sound nice too
Some have silencer rings, getting rid of that makes a huge difference too
It's my understanding that blow off valves will not negatively affect vehicles that use MAP instead of MAF because the rating is taken at the manifold rather than before the throttle body.
You would be correct sir and the degree to which something negatively effects a vehicle also veries as well depending on which CAN-BUS protocol is being run and how the map was engineered that runs the vehicle most vehicles will default to a open loop if a circuit has been disconnect or failed and that means all your data for that one circuit is now a static data value in the system instead of s dynamic value fluctuating with the changes of whatever it was monitoring for
Nice
I have all 3 and still be looking to make it louder
depending on the brand car, some VW's have turbos with VGT solenoids and Variable veins in the exhaust housing, all operated by the ECM, TDI model VW's technically dont have Blow off Valves, (Diesels Generally Dont) so you wont get a blow off sound from an Diesel engine that has an VGT Turbo. VGT's also dont have wastegates, due to Veritable Veins being the one to controlling the turbo speed. Really the most sound you will get out of one of those is an whistle noise as the turbo is spinning, thats really it.
Now, if your getting a chu chu chu noise from an VGT Turbo constantly? VGT Actuator can be (1. Out of adjustment, 2. Going bad, 3. Variable Housing is clogged with soot.)
Hope this info helps! and not crush everyones dreams.
You can run a blow off valve on a factory diverter car. It won't cause it to idle bad, run rich, etc.
what makes it scream is a ported compressor housing (the turbonetics turbo at the beginning is ported)... aka anti surge”a single port will have some whistle but the whistle is from air being sliced in half the ported housing allows that to happen by letting air behind the first set of blades to be ... you guessed it .. sliced in half 🤙 ...(i’m not an engineer, i just stayed at a holiday in express last night 😁
russell379x what the fuck did I just read?
I got a tiny intercooler leak 2 month ago. I did whistle like crazy, some people was looking. Probaly because i drive a minivan. haha.
Hope this works for my tiny turbo on my 17 chevy cruze
My 2006 Subaru Forester XT has a de-cat downpipe, cold air filter mounted in front wheel arch and the stock recirc valve and it goes "PSHSHSHSHSH" between gear changes, it has also had the "snorkus" removed.
I modified my 18 civic si turbo by putting on a new intake and a down pipe it spoils so nice now
I might just do that on my civic
Who else is 15 and doesn't own a car
broski is 18 now, you can finally get an actual car!
@@Lucek_RS Best man on CZcams 🤙🏻
Im 15 and im tryna get my car to have a louder turbo 😭
That's stupid
aged well lol @lucek_rs
For real this is how you do it
Up the boost 5 psi
Big front mount intercooler
Mushroom pod filter
Block bov
Get a screamer pipe
Dosing all day long loud as f...
On my ls swap truck running the downpipe only made my spool and boost level sound crazy like a block away no lie. I slapped a muffler on it and the spooling sound is mostly gone
If you have a diverter car like i do and want BOV noises get a splitter valve you control how much gets diverted so you keep your engine healthy but still atmospheric dump enough to make noise lol.
I'm about to put a stage 2 upgrade with a complete emissions delete (egr, dpf), Muffler Delete, Dual ram air intakes, larger intercooler, performance charge pipe, ECU remapped and tuned on my Twin Turbo BMW.. When all said and done I should be in the 400hp 750 torque area..
and your transmission goes boom chakalakalaka
Where my 1.6T Gamma friends at who pulled off the recirc hose for the ttsssss lol
Worth it
Late but I'm here😂
An all metal intake pipe helps a lot with turbo noise.
How to know how big your turbo is, and will an air-intake and downpipe make my diesel louder? already have a sport exhaust but with two mufflers but I can't remove them because it won't go thru the inspection.
Turbo baby 🤪
The turbo whistle clip is from Cletus McFarland
What about the intercooler if it’s running faster and more efficient should that be added to the noise factor
nice video
We have two 7.3 diesel on our farm and one has a nice loud whistle and one is quite only thing done to the loud one is a after market air Filter assembly would that make it whistle?
I'm looking on purchasing a 2022 acura type S tlx. Any suggestions on modifications?
is the 2006 pt cruiser gt turbo 2.4 the same as the srt4's engine? serious question, im new to this turbo stuff. just wondering what the differences are.
Fully sic bro...
Have to love the old turkey call. Turbos don't sound like that anymore.
He called OUT ALL THE RICERS👀
What if I remove the diverter valve could I still put in a blowoff valve??
I added a train horn to bov, hilarious.
4in turbo back straight pipe 8in tip, intake, and different wheel and housing that is what im running on my diesel
i love people that go "power loss" with "heat soak". heat soak maybe gives a 2 to 3 hp drop...if that. and when you are driving and you have a cone filter set up properly, all of the hot air escapes lol. plus, nothing beats that noise
Catalytic converters are not filled with "insulation" and are also not restrictive if not damaged.
what makes the flutter? I have a Veloter and people say flutter is the sound of the Turbo dying, but other cars seem to do it no problem. I've been wanting to keep reliability, so I'm going to keep a stock turbo but have a company improve it.
This is the most understandable video i ever watched about the turbo modding. Well done my friend, well done. 👍
Can you make your small stock standard turbo louder on a polo 8? With these tips?
