- Now that Jurassic World Dominion is out Tony and Jordan (from Geek Anything) discuss all 5 Jurassic Park sequels and try to decide what is the best one.
Four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar, dinosaurs now live and hunt alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history's most fearsome creatures.

For me personally, The Lost World: Jurassic Park and the first Jurassic World are my favorite sequels.
It's weird how BD Wong's character was seemingly amoral and didn't care about consequences until the last Jurassic World, where he does a 180 and all of the sudden develops a conscience.
Dominion had my favorite line in the new trilogy when Jeff Goldblum says "Jurassic world? Not a fan."
That was the most genuine line in the movie
I love how Ian Malcolm just react and make comments about ridiculous stuff in movie. "You make promise to a dinosaur?"
@@ExtremeMadnessX half his lines felt like ad-libs
@@alcheman12 They just let Jeff Goldblum to be Jeff Goldblum in every movie he is.
@@ExtremeMadnessX true, he was just Jeff Goldblum in Thor Ragnarok as well
@@alcheman12 Jeff Goldblum has just been Jeff Goldblum in every movie he's been in since the _Invasion of The Body-Snatchers_ remake with Leonard Nimoy. That's what people mean when they refer to him as a "character-actor"-there's no real distinction between how he acts on-camera and how he acts when nobody's watching, and that's a huge part of why people like him so much.
The Lost World, give me the characters, *dinosaur set pieces and the "logical" follow-up to the 1st (another island); has its flaws but still a fun adventure..
*Raptors hunting in the tall grass, Trex finding its baby and chasing the group, RV Cliff scene, TRex in San Diego
Can't go wrong with Richard Shiff either.
TLW is not only the best sequel, it’s arguably the best in the franchise
We all know what the best sequel is.. its called Carnosaur!
Yes carnosaur 2,3 and 4 are great
Veloci-pastor!
Klayton would’ve been perfect for this episode :)
This is the best birthday gift I could ask for a new hack the movies video to enjoy
HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Honestly this was just a really refreshing talk on JP films. As a huge fan of the franchise I recognize the sequels all have good and bad parts and nothing will ever touch the original. Having said that it always seems like most talk of the sequels are always just super negative and about everything people didn't like. So hearing you two just go back and forth about the good and and bad and just being generally more positive than most movie talks on this series was a nice change. Thanks guys!
The Jurassic Park films are absolutely my favorite film series ever produced, so I've got a lot of love even for the parts of the franchise I hate the most. I'm pretty sure that's why Tony tagged me in for this video when Klayton couldn't do it
I still like The Lost World JP 2 almost as much as the original.
It's got so many great action scenes plus my favorite character Ian Malcolm.
Fallen Kingdom and Dominion have turned Owen and Claire into action movie heroes.
Owen jumping through a T-Rex's open jaws seems like something Indiana Jones would've done to escape a closing temple door in Temple Of Doom.
Claire using that metal pipe to flip the raptor in Dominion reminded me exactly of Indy using a broken flagpole to flip that soldier on a motorcycle in The Last Crusade.
My favorites:
1. Jurassic Park
2. The Lost World
3. Jurassic World
4. JP 3
5. Dominion
6. Fallen Kingdom
Yup
your order is correct. I could see the argument of swapping 3 and 4.. but the raptor talks in 3 and has feathers.
I’m with you, I just switch 5 and 6
I have a sealed copy of Arachnophobia on VHS. Such a classic ! 🕷️🍿🕷️🍿
I have sealed dino dna in amber, also a classic
That film made me scared of eating popcorn for years!!!!
The two best scenes in the entire saga are the Trex jeep and Trex cliff sequences in the first two movies.
One day we'll see Tony as Scooter Guy in Jurassic Hack Dominion. 🤞
3:01 The Lost World Jurassic Park
29:26 Jurassic World
51:39 Dominion review
Shocked that Klayton isn't in this one.
He lives in another state! I cant get him all the time.
If it helps, I was also very disappointed that Klayton couldn't join us for this
It wasn't in san Francisco, it was set in San Diego.
Exactly.
Why on earth do people dislike the San Diego sequence in The Lost World
well from my take - theres a few factors.
1. The main characters are so unlikable that by the time they escape the island, you hope it ended already. It feels like a 4th act.
2. The entire way they GET to San Diego is just stupid. The ship arrives much like Dracula in the eponymous story, but where a ghost ship makes sense in a supernatural film it doesnt when its a damned TRex. No survivors? A hand on the wheel? A 4 story dino locked in a hold?
3. The whole Japanese tourists and Godzilla scene.
4. The silly use of the baby to lead it back to the hold.
5. The very neat and tidy way everything wraps up considering how it all goes to hell from the island onward.
6. Its less grounded than anything in any of the other JP films combined
This video needed more Klayton
We dont live near each other! We do have an episode with him coming up though. It was filmed awhile back.
Lost World, easy. Klayton gang for life!
Love when u guys cover jurassic park films...watched your uploads multiple times and will watch again in the future!!!
Go with me on this. With gas prices so high I expect to see a movie of them cloning dinosaurs just so they can make more oil out of them.
I actually really like Jurassic Park 3, it was the one that released at just the right time in my childhood.
Born in 83'....for me it's Lost World...
It’s funny, Tony hating Ian Malcom going to the second island is one of my favorite parts. One island was bad enough, but after two. I absolutely see how his answer was immediately, “Fuck them, this volcano is nature correcting our mistake. Let the dinosaurs burn” during Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom.
I actually think he's probably the best lead in any of the movies ngl
We need a Denver the Last Dinosaur reboot.
I'm pretty sure it's Carnosaur 2.
Favorite JP sequel is the lost world and favorite JW sequel I have not decided yet between Dominion and fallen kingdom.
Hope the extended cut is more than the 14 minutes we are told of.
Loved the reference The Jurassic World Tour Live Show. I also saw that Philly show before the pandemic... it was really well done and story to it was pretty damn good
I like them all except Fallen Kingdom. My personal favorites are "The Lost World." Alot of great actors, the T-Rex running through San Diego, and the truck dangling off the cliff were great.
Agreeeeeeeeee
Jurassic world is also really good its before its time or soemthing
the new jurrasic world is pretty bad
The Lost world has some of my favorite scenes in movie history. I mean, that scene where the two t-rex appear surrounding the car while it's trying to save the people on the trailer, that was A-FREAKING-MAZING.
The scene with the raptors and the high grass, was pretty damn good too. I really loved that movie even if they are right when they say the pace is really bad.
Jurassic Park 3 was very disappointing back then but now it feels like some very light fun.
I have some problems with the world trilogy. I feel like they think I am stupid every time I watched them. Like the film makers are laughing at me and I don't like that feeling. Those movies cross too many lines for me.
JP3.
Yes, I said it.
I had just turned 3 when JP came out. I don’t think I have any remaining memories from that point in time. But I have always told everyone JP is the absolute first memory I have going to see a movie. I grew up in a family owning a movie theater so I think that speaks volumes
My favorite Jurassic sequel is Camp Cretaceous.
the land that time forgot 1974 is a good dino movie
Saw it in the drive in as a double feature with The Flinstones...
The Flinstones played first so i had to wait 90 something minutes to see the movie i wanted to watch..
Probably saw it more but i was like 7 turning 8 when the Flinstones double feature came out
The sequels were disappointing but i enjoyed Lost World.
Dominion wasnt worth the one year wait
Here's my ranking for the Franchise:
JURASSIC PARK, 9/10
The Lost World Jurassic Park 2, 8/10
JURASSIC PARK 3, 6/10
JURASSIC WORLD, 8/10
JURASSIC WORLD 2 FALLEN KINGDOM, 7.5/10
JURASSIC WORLD 3 DOMINION, 7/10.
Jurassic park 3 is better than any Jurassic World movie.
1:11:15 "that's the biggest fucking dinosaur that's ever been a dinosaur" 😂😂😂😂😂 thank you for that, I'm falling here 😂😂😂 I'm using that
Is the lost world and I'm confused why there are people out there who don't know this
The main problem I have with Jurassic Park 3 is It doesn't seem to have the same suspence or tension as the first two I know Lost world has a lot of problems but there's still some very tense engaging scenes.
I'm on to your tricks fiendish Dr Wu from Kung-Fu island, your dinosaurs won't kill me!
I’m with dude, I’m not even THAT invested once JP2 goes from the jungle setting to San Diego. Completely changes the tone so quickly
I hovered over the thumbnail and thought you were doing this video with yourself. It really tripped me out -- I thought your video editing skills suddenly got really good.
Honestly Camp Cretaceous is my fav thing after the original film.
If someone just straight searched arachniphobia and not included "trailer" or "movie" in the search, then that's on them lol
For me, it goes
JP > JPIII >= TLW > JW >>> JWD >= FK
Tammy and the T-Rex 🦖
Jurassic World is the best sequel largely because it avoids a lot of the pitfalls that ruined the other sequels. It's a tolerable nostalgia kick.
That's the most perfect interpretation of why that's the second best movie.
It's a watered down version of the original. The characters are a joke, the plot is literally no different than the first and I'm honestly sick of seeing the t Rex win everything. At least JP3 gave us a new adversary, and Dominion had the rex need a partner to kill the giga. And one who did more than a few bites and scratches before being thrown through a window like the raptors in JW1.
I love the copy of Rochelle Rochelle in the background haha
In reality, I don’t really count the World Series as Canon because they were made after Michael Crichton died. So strictly speaking you could call it. Optional Cannon.
Should review Nightmare on elm street 1.
It’s the greatest horror of all time.
Big fan from North Wales 🏴
Keep up the good work
My favorite dinosaur movie is The Last Dinosaur. Been enjoying that one since I was a little kid and they used to play it on network tv about once a year. Loved it. Later, J.
Yup, love that one. There were quite a few dinosaur movies pre-JP, but they couldn't name one
good video I was able to sit through the whole thing. I love Jurassic Park and The Lost World.
Oh! It's Jordan! Neat!
I'm spreading throughout the Screenwave Multiverse
Great seeing you here! I always enjoy your input!
@@theflail thanks for the love! Now I just have to hope they keep inviting me back on!
I agree with, Jordan.
Best Jurassic Park? --> the Lost World
Jurassic World? --> Jurassic World
We are in the same page, with the same energy. 👍
Easily The Lost World
Baby Secret of the Lost Legend is a great live action Dinosaur movie from the 80s
he's right about the giga. was shocking
For the most scientifically accurate portraits of dinosaurs watch Prehistoric Planet documentary. Special effects are way superior to any Jurassic World movie.
When tony mentioned hulk hogan i thought about the scene in Rocky 3 with thunder lips. Mickey was going on about wrestlers that were bigger than dinosaurs.
It wasn't Dino Crisis, it's a new IP called Exo-Primal which looks fun
I knew about Exo-Primal, but had read thay Capcom recently renewed the copyright
I have yet to see Fallen Kingdom or Dominion so I'll say Jurassic World and Jurassic Park 3 are my favorite sequels.
"Mummy, Daddy come look.....I've found something!"
Poor Dierdre!!!!!!!!!!!!
BEWARE OF SCAMMERS IN THE COMMENT SECTION
I would say the order from best to worst is:
Jurassic Park
Jurassic World
The Lost World
Dominion
Jurassic Park 3
Fallen Kingdom
Just like any Godzilla movie these movies all make me feel in a way like a big kid I love these movies
The spinosaurus in Jurassic Park 3 had a baby that was shot at the beginning and it wants revenge.
The dinos in the movies look nothing like the original Dinos becouse the scientists have been upgrading and making them more monsters.
Really fun episode. Jurrasic Park 3 and Fallen Kingdom are my favorites. Cool to see Jordan on here and hope he will be in more episodes in the future.
The Lost World and Fallen Kingdom!!!!
WHAT DO YOU KNOW!?!?!
Totally agree that I loved Lost World so much since I was a kid but always hated the last scene with the T Rex in the city.
So many good tense moments.
I also really loved Fallen Kingdom, but again like Lost World, I really didn't like when they got to the mansion and that whole sequence.
Not gonna lie,I like Jurassic Park 3 better than 2
Either The Lost World or Jurassic World (unpopular opinion)🤔. I'm gonna go with... The Lost World 👍
Spoiler Alert- Thats where I sit on things too. I think that both TLW and JW are overall great sequels to the original film
@@jordandesjardins5310 I think JW makes more sense as a sequel. I think it shows a more natural progression of the story however I (slightly) prefer TLW as the better movie. (If that makes sense)
@@beejay271 I think you will appreciate where I sit by the end of the video 😉
I want to see the Dino human hybrid soldiers they wanted for one of the sequels. The concept art looked cool. Though I’m aware it’s not a classy Dino film like Spielberg would want. I keep getting the feeling the studio wants Dinosaurs with guns in them like dino riders but Spielberg just won’t allow it.
I always felt like that was a really cool concept, but not necessarily where this particular franchise should go. I feel like that's its own separate movie, or a live-action take on Dino Crisis would go there Maybe?
It’s The Lost World hands down because even lesser Spielberg is still Spielberg. The rest of the sequels are just painfully bland. I’ll give the second half of Fallen Kingdom some credit for having the audacity to lean into weird gothic haunted house horror and just embrace the insanity of that but that’s not saying it’s a great film by any means. I just find that nonsense more interesting than 3 or Jurassic World. Dominion is just bad across the board.
Jurassic park 3 dinosaurs still have the best designs.
I still have the original Dennis Nedry figure. I believe it looks nothing like Wayne Knight because it was based on concept art of the character because production likely went into action in preproduction of the film before the character was cast.
This no effort mohawk dude has the most pedestrian take on all these movies.
Not a chance, will try again next week
Jurassic World: Dominion - Extended Cut is such a necessary view. That cut makes my watching of the movie enjoyable. It adds back motivation for characters. The movie is still a crazy hot mess, but at least I care with that longer cut.
My ranking Best to Worst:
1.) Jurassic Park
2.) Jurassic World
3.) Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
4.) Jurassic Park: The Lost World
5.) Jurassic Park 3
6.) Jurassic World: Dominion
To me Jurassic Park 3 was the matrix Reloaded of 2001
Which by the way I was comparing Jurassic Park 3 to matrix Reloaded because I thought to myself
Matrix reloaded had more action scenes and Jurassic Park 3 had more dinosaurs and focuses more on dinosaurs
There is a Dominion extended cut coming out that includes the cut prologue.
All of this dinosaur stuff is good, but I am waiting for the dark souls of fighting games. The soul edge has nothing on a light saber.
I totally agree with Jordan. I'm torn between The Lost World and Jurassic World...
I remember hating the Lost World so much as a kid cuz I read the book and got so hyped to see it as a movie. Then it was so different. Also, in accordance with my indoctrination I need to say 3 is the best. It doesn't rise to the level of a Speed 2 but it is brilliant
Lowkey Laura Dern was wrong cause like the JP script gives Grant and Sattler a small age gap, like 3 or 4 years
The T Rex in the city was the Best part of the movie.
Jurassic park sequel goes into a tie imo and Jurassic world Has to be the first I always love rewatching it
Q the winged serpent is a great movie!
It's a fun movie, and I love it, but you're not convincing me that it's a "good" movie
Wow! The host of this show really doesn’t let his guests talk. It really seemed like the other guy had a few things to say about some of the movies but the host just wouldn’t shut up.
That's the show.
Late to the party on this video, but “The Last Dinosaur” was pretty legit given how old it was
I liked lost world the best but I haven’t really seen the new ones yet
If you're looking for a sequel, Lost World by far. Progresses the themes and (some) characters and continues quality directing and vfx. If you're looking for a nostalgic remake/reboot/legacy sequel - Jurassic World.
Lost World is beautiful. The original 3 are goated
JP3 4 LIFE.
JP3 4 LIFE.
**JP3 4 LIFE.**
After ive watched one of Tonys videos, I always end up googling Daisy Derkin its weird
Even I was VERY WORRIED about the movie being CANCELLED because of COVID!
My Best Jurassic Park movies & Jurassic World is
Jurassic Park 1993
The lost world Jurassic Park
Jurassic World
My least Jurassic parks movies & Jurassic World is
Jurassic park 3, Jurassic World: Fallen kingdom and Jurassic World: Dominion
virtually all Jurassic movies have their notable flaws. the first is really the best but even it has moments I could do without. Dominion is the only one I'd rate lower than an 8, though I still enjoyed it. the best sequel though? oof. a struggle. I'll, uh, I'll pass lol
I liked Lost World and Fallen Kingdom. I still can't for the life of me see what you like in 3 but to each it's own. Also it's a gd eggplant Tony not grapefruit lol.
14:55 Baby: Secret Of The Lost legend
Ms. Marvel was so boring between action fights and the action feels so agonizingly newbie.
Big fan of your podcast. Love your videos.
My order in terms of quality.
1. Jurassic Park
2. Jurassic World
3. The Lost World: Jurassic Park
4. Jurassic World: Dominion
5. Jurassic Park 3
6. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom
I'm with the guest on most of these points. Never seen your videos before but Gods seems you really have a chip on your shoulder for Lost World...lol
Lost World is still the best sequel for Jurassic Park, no contest. It more than "it has it's moments" imo. Still some great characters, love Jeff Goldblum in this as Ian Malcolm, love Eddy in this (R.I.P.) and one of my all-time favorite characters and actors of Jurassic Park sequels, Pete Postlethwaite as Roland Tembo.
Love the action sequences and the amazing the practical effects the did to make this work. The musical score is still really a knockout. To your own to get jaded about it but I fully disagree that it's phoned in here. The only thing I did like was Vince Vaughn being in this (can't stand him as an actor). Everything that I loved as a kid I still enjoy a bunch here.
Jurassic Park 3 is still trash to me as a JP movie. There's some things I do like if Im gonna be honest. I like the Spinosaurus, I love the Pteranodon cage sequence and I love the sequence of them being in the rundown laboratory. But everything else is trash to me, aside from. Sam Neil back from Alan Grant is the ONLY character I like. Everyone else is annoying and I am not invested in anyone else. There's not enough setup or meaningful development of them or scenes of them with dialogue that pulled me in. Sorry to the big fans and big defenders but this remains my least favorite by far (haven't seen Dominion yet, but it'll be hard to be worse than this for me personally).
Jurassic World I absolutely loved. It's a big dumb film, but absolutely loved the wonder of the Park being fully open. Loved the Indominous Rex as being a representation of these things being monsters and not fully fledged Dinosaurs. Loved the Mosasaurus and welcomed them bringing pre-historic aquatic animals finally. I liked the movie keeping with the capitalistic tones that the first 2 films were about, but showing it on such a larger scale. Liked having Henry Wu back. The big dumb finale was SO enjoyable. Aside some weakly written characters, I didn't really have much that I hated or disliked. I think your cracked for not liking the finale of it *shrug*.
Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom is a movie I still really enjoyed but it has some glaring problems with the third act. Absolutely the opening is fantastic for me and an all-time high of the franchise for me. Intense, creepy. Def need more scenes in Jurassic Park/World movies of Dinosaurs in rainstorms. I liked but not sure if I love the Indoraptor, still undecided. The score was absolutely great, the Indo's theme I listen to multiple times. I def got choked up with the scene of the Brachiosaurus dying and even felt bad when the ones at the Estate were being killed by the lethal gas. But the whole auctioning off Dinosaurs (especially at such low amounts) is absolutely the dumbest plot point for me so far...could've been handled much better imo. Def got tired of Chris Pratt in this one, I liked him in the first one but once was enough for me. I did not like the extra protagonists in this one and the antics they get into. Unlike Jurassic Park 1, Lost World and even Jurassic World where I either loved or liked characters, I just wasn't into many of the characters.
