      At least of few of them would have been an expeditionary troop in Japan.
      They managed to do simmilar and Sometimes even worse things (Even even the Germans were sometimes shocked by what they did. We (in the West) dont talk about Japan as much because of two reasons:
      1. Most people (Back then) didnt care about east Asia and what Japan did in Korea and China didnt Matter to them until Hawaii/Phillipines were attacked.
      2.Japan was punished less than Germany, the Emperor got to keep His Titel and the scientist who Made inhumane Experiments were pardond by the US in Exchange for sharing their results)

      The minions seem to be willing to follow whoever kills/defeats their previous master, regardless of the relative level of despicability. Their master before napoleon was probably either defeated in some capacity by Napoleon or they simply ran into him during one of his military campaigns and figured that being engaged in killing/war was a good enough reason to follow him rather than keep searching.

    I think the fact that they served Bonaparte kind of disproves the idea that they genuinely served the worst villains because Bonaparte isn’t what people would consider a villain, his plans were just very over the top and he had a big ego. If the minions were actually serving the most evil people, they'd probably have served people like Genghis Khan, Timur the Lame and various Chinese warlords, and in the 20th century they would have served the Bolsheviks and eventually Stalin rather than the Nazi Party (because the Nazi rise to power happened when Stalin was already established).

    Showing them serving Bonaparte is ok, but them serving Hitler isn't.
    I'd imagine it's because of the time, it's been over 200 years since Bonaparte died, but it's been less than a century since Hitler died, and there's still people alive who experienced the horrors of that war.
    Wonder how long it'll be until Hitler is a distant enough figure to hlbe featured in a Children's movie.

      Hitler:
      -specifically gassed more than 2 million people
      -DIRECTLY caused the deaths of 11 million (gassings, shootings, starvation, euthanasia)
      -INDIRECTLY killed 80 million people (WW2)
      If you think Napoleon is even REMOTELY close to Hitler, you're either stupid or misinformed.

    I mean, there was also Stalin, Mousselini, etc. During that time, so if they could have gone that route. And they definitely have served plenty of people despite a worse person being there, so I doubt it's out of character.
    It would probably have been fine to do if it weren't for the fact that survivors from that are still alive.
