On this week's episode of Chasing Chrome, I head to green river here in washington state to go chum salmon fishing! In this video I explain the best way that I have found to target these chum salmon in the River. During this absolutely epic time of the year we get the amazing opportunity to go fishing for and to target chum salmon here in washington state as they make their way from the pacific ocean into the various local rivers and streams to spawn. In this video, I go over my basic setup that I use to catch chum salmon here in washington state on the green river, show you how to fish it, and also end up catching a couple nice ones! I hope you guys enjoy this green river chum salmon fishing video! Be sure to sit back, relax, and don't forget to subscribe for more videos like this one!

This was my first year fishing in WA despite living here for 6 or 7 years now. Thanks for the inspiration to fish for salmon! The biggest I've caught in WA is a chum in the same spot actually. I didn't weigh/measure it as I was trying to get it back in the water ASAP, but I'd estimate 10 pounds or so.

Pro tip put your shrimp in a container with salt a lot of salt, it'll dry it out and keep it fresh longer for you, you'll still have to to keep it cool like in a fridge when you're not fishing, but it also makes the shrimp or whatever bait you stick in the salt tough like really tough so it'll stay on your hook better. Learned this from watching surf fisherman.

I caught a 18” peacock bass in Florida, I think that was the largest. I still haven’t really fished for salmon in Washington yet. I do kind of live on the wrong side of the state for that though.

Biggest fish hooked was a massive Tiger Muskie out of Tapps. Unfortunately, it bit through the 12lb fluorocarbon before I could get a weight, measurement, or picture.

I’ve never caught a chum. I’d love to! It’s been on my list for years.
My biggest fish was a 36” shark from the beach on Whidbey island fishing for Kings. Caught it on a white and blue rotator. Thought I snagged a tire. The biggest King I ever caught was that same day but I had to let it go because it was wild. Not sure what it weighed though because I released it real quick. There are 324 comments on here at this point! So cool to see your fan base and channel growing man! Have fun choosing a winner! 😅 🎣

This is my first year fishing for salmon. I was getting skunked the whole time and I was able to catch a 10 pounder on the last day for salmon in the Yakima river. 😀now I’m hooked for salmon fishing 😀

I need to find me some salmon and steelhead but the app that gives me the regs for Wa state was constantly down for maintenance so I just got rid of it after a few week's, so I've got my catch card but no way to know when and where I'm allowed to catch them.

@@BrianMonticello getting a big steelhead for you fist one is good and bad. Everyone since has been smaller. I'm going to break into that 20lb club this year hopefully though!
