I'm done with Skagit Pinks, targeting the Coho, but casting around to fish Chum, later this Fall.
The only fishing rod that I have ever broken while having a fish on, was a big buck, Chum. Snapped at the ferrule. BTW : I landed that fish. He became salmon fish 'n chips. Chum are totally underated as a game fish.
They aren't bad to eat fresh out of the salt!
