- Bobber Fishing for Coho Salmon!! 4K Bobber Downs (Super Satisfying)
On this week's episode of Chasing Chrome, I head to a new river here in washington state to go coho salmon fishing with the notorious bobber and egg setup! In this video I explain exactly how I use bobber and eggs to target these coho salmon in the River. During this absolutely epic time of the year we get the amazing opportunity to go fishing for and to target coho salmon here in washington state as they make their way from the pacific ocean into the various local rivers and streams to spawn. In this video, I go over my basic setup that I use to go bobber fishing for salmon here in washington state, show you how to fish it, and also end up catching a couple nice ones! I hope you guys enjoy this bobber fishing for coho salmon video! Be sure to sit back, relax, and don't forget to subscribe for more videos like this one!

Another awesome video. Always look forward to your content. Also educational
You know what I also love about your videos… you keep it grounded and relatable to us. For example, You didn’t edit out the cast into the tree as it happens to most of us and forget to set the drag…. Love it man. Keep it up.
Thanks man I appreciate you noticing all that!
I must say this video has been...super satisfying.
Havent even watched and know its finna be a banger🔥🎣👍
Awesome!!!
Another awesome video. Thanks man. You my inspiration!
🙏🏻🙏🏻
Great vid! Man do I forget my gloves often. I have like nucelar pink hands now. Nice fish!
Quality video m8, keep up the grind
Awesome video man! Keep killing it like always!
Thanks Josh!
I love a good bobber down!
Another great video 🔥.
Venturing out of your norm is the best thing I ever did. I fish a lot of not puget sound rivers. I’ll be back next week and gonna hit one that gets coho into christmas. Float fishing and bobberdoggin is my shit🔥
Nothing better then bobber downs
They’re the best!
Wo nice fishing man 🐟🎣👍
Bro so excited I found you on Fishbrain! Now I can learn some basics!
I've gone out for salmon 3 days now and got skunked each time. I'm living through you and other WA salmon videos at this point lol 😅
Same. Just watched his video on the Green and can’t figure out how he’s the only guy I’ve seen hook up all year
Your not alone bro I only hooked up 1 time this season and it popped off !!😖been bringing my son out to show him how to fish and he is catching more than me lol
Hit the green on Saturday. We hooked 10 fish, landed 5 in about 3 hours. All on a corky setup (green, orange, purple yarn). Was fun.
@@ericschinn all I got to say is bobber and eggs, find deeper holes float em a foot off bottom. And Stay away from the crowds, you’ll get one if your fishing right now.
awesome video man, lucky you had the spot to yourself
Reeling before setting the hook, love to see it. See a lot of noobs on YT setting the hook with 5 foot of slack and wonder why fish don’t stick. Well done.
Reel till you feel.
I use he same reel and I personally keep my drag looser. When I set the hook I just buckle down with my thumb and set the hook. I mean each person has there own way I just keep my drag loose cause what makes me mad is hooking a nice fish and having it to tight then it popping the hook. So using my thumb as the drag really helps cause no matter what size of fish hits your covered.
That’s a great tip! definitely need to practice that
@@BrianMonticello that and those BlackMax reels are great reels but I don’t about you but the drag seems a bit weak to me 🤷♂️ could just be me haha. Great fish though!
Good Eggs
Awesome content my dude! Bobber and eggs is my favorite way to catch coho! Way to kill it! Low key fish that hole too 🤣 that's my local river. Don't be giving it out 🤫 #bobberdown!
Not telling a soul haha
And thanks man! Appreciate the kind words
@@BrianMonticello can you please do a full in depth how to cure salmon eggs I’ve noticed you use the dry cures I’m really trying to figure it out. Thanks!
When I egg fish I also am often a jack 🧲.
Was just looking through the regs. It doesn’t say anything about releasing wild coho for the green? 🤔
🤔🤔😂
How deep did you have your bobber stopper set?
About 4 feet from the hook
@@BrianMonticello alright thanks gonna try this out next time cuz I was twitching jigs and didn’t have much luck
Cool vid ! How do you cure your egg ?
I just sprinkle a generous amount of pautzke boraxofire pink onto the skeins after I split them open, let them cure over night and then cut them up and jar them!
My pole snapped in half while on the green today 😭. This video make things better though
Sorry to hear that haha last time I went fishing my new rod snapped in half first cast ever using it so I feel your pain haha glad the video made up a little for it 😂
what river
Nice dude. It’s been a tough year trying to get coho from any of the rivers I’ve visited. Lots of pinks and the occasional king but coho yet to be seen.
Hit me up. Lesgoooo!
What baitcaster is that?
Okuma blackmax
@@BrianMonticello Might pick one up as a starter reel. A lot of people suggest getting a nicer reel for salmon but I don't have 300-400 dollars to drop on a setup lmfao
@@speedbird1598 yeah it’s a great starter bait caster it’s like $50 but it’s not that good haha
Dang dude I was just there, what day did you go
What river?
Saturday
Funny I was there Friday night.
Awesome video and I like how you don’t give up the river mad respect ✊ otherwise it will end up like the vedder 1000s of people out there everyday
what length rod is that?
9’2”!
@@BrianMonticello I am looking to get my first salmon rod. What would you recommend as a good all around. I use bait casters all the time for bass but not sure if it would be good for salmon. Let me know what you would recommend.
@@adamnoga-styron7882 I would get a spinning rod and reel since you can use that for every application, lots of people prefer them for bobber fishing even. I’d get a 9’2” medium or medium light okuma guide select pro - what I’m using in this video. You can use it for pretty much everything! I have a link for it in my bio too if you want :)
@@BrianMonticello thank's love the channel by the way.
What's this location and where exactly is this river?
That’s the question!
Where are you fishing Brian?
I don’t think he’s gonna share that info brother. Kinda personal
A magician never reveals his secrets
Or what area?
@@ikesakesscottie4275 a puget sound river
