    You should fish in Florida! Especially since snook season just started and the mullet are running caught a 35 inch snook the other day!

    Can you talk about what the bite felt like? I see that you're using a spinner. I never know when to set the hook. I'm scared the fish are biting but I just don't know.
    Where you're fishing, is using spinners more popular than drift fishing?

    • @BrianMonticello
      @BrianMonticello  Před 3 lety

      LeaF1569 drift fishing is probably more popular! But in my opinion it’s just snagging the fish in the mouth! So I don’t do that. The bite from the spinner will feel like you hit a snag, or the spinner suddenly stops spinning (if they hit it coming towards you). At that point to set the hook I just lift my rod upwards pretty aggressively since we have to use single siwash hooks on this river to set the hook in the top of the mouth typically (if you can use treble hooks where you are, you can set it any way you want - usually sideways is my fav) but most of the time since the spinner is already moving the hook will set itself and you won’t have to worry about it and next thing you know there’s a fish tugging!

      @@BrianMonticello You've been so helpful. Thanks! I just checked regulations on the Duwamish/Green and I don't see any regulations on the single siwash hook? Want to make sure I'm not breaking the rules if I decide to head out there. Thanks!

    • @BrianMonticello
      @BrianMonticello  Před 3 lety

      LeaF1569 np! And yeah you can’t use treble hooks on I think any of the puget sound rivers, not sure exactly where it says that but it’s definitely the law

    If you were wondering why I asked you not share river names, just look at how many comments there are about people going to that same spot. If your channel gets popular (which I honestly hope it does, content is solid) then you will have the capacity to absolutely ruin fishing spots. This has already happened with other channels and certain spots in Western Oregon. Please don't contribute to the problem.

    • @BrianMonticello
      @BrianMonticello  Před 3 lety +1

      fisherman206 yeah you’re totally right. Going forward I’m gonna be more careful about this. Never wanted this influence lol just wanted to share my fishing adventures and inspire
