Due to the low flows on the rivers making for tough steelhead conditions, we decided to fish for rockfish while we waiting for the weather to hit us! We each caught some trophy fish that tasted great! Enjoy my first catch and cook!

'Good times!
Great looking rockfish! Nice video!
Thanks a ton!
wow, where do you guys live? where are you approximately in alaska?
Ketchikan. Southeast part of the state
Lil Nugz
Rent the boat at Knudsen cove and fish clover passage?
I keep an 18 foot skiff stored indoors in Ketchikan and have land on the Cleveland Peninsula (north across Behm Canal from Knudsen cove, but on the north side of the peninsula).
Awesome place, can’t wait until I can finish my cabin and start my retirement!
(Gotta remember to buy a month’s worth of limes and put them in the luggage every time you fly up from lower 48-everyone has room for 4 pounds of limes in their luggage; should do same with avocados).
I guess you can say as soon as you ate that fish it was straight "fire." lol
haha you could say that!
nice video. Lime here in OC, California sometime 15 for $1 lol
Where is this located in Alaska?
ketchikan!
The Fly Dudes
Rented at Knudsen Cove?

Justin Burrup thanks dude! And yeah we rented the skiff
8:30 dollar store post malone
That killed me dude hahaha
Why only one fish a year tho
because they are over harvested for the bone in their jaw. its the equivalent of ivory. they were fished too heavily and now they just allow one per year
The Fly Dudes thank you for the info much appreciate
Magikarp
it does look a ton like that doesnt it haha
How are there fish like this in an estuary it’s not even the ocean and you are deep dropping for demersals wtf
you cant ceap yellow eyes
1 per year
I’m pretty sure it’s 1 yellow eye a Day
Exodus II
One yelloweye per year, must be recorded on license in ink.

Don't think I could eat a fish that is 125 years old.. feel bad for the yellow eye.
Slappy Stapley honestly I wouldn’t have kept it if we didn’t land it from 400 feet deep unfortunately. We didn’t have the equipment to properly get the fish back to depth.
