Honestly, I owned an Avalanche. It did everything I needed, including haul a cement mixer and my dirtbike. It makes those Caddies look like a really good deal.

I own a Escalade EXT.. GREAT TRUCK. Can convert to 8ft bed. ALL wheel drive, 6.2 LS. Downfall they are super rare and they hold the vlaue pretty well depending on milage. A low miles 07 can still can go for $20-30k.

With ford avoid the one with 3 valves per cylinder because if the valve rattles the whole engine is trash and Nissan the catalytic converters breaks off and is sucked in to the engine and trashes it and the hemi has a valve tick and most knows what that means
Had an 01 hemi. Guess it had a tick maybe. Was a longbed, and been searching 3 weeks now, trying to decide whether to get another one, or maybe save up for Tundra. All the old trucks are jacked up in price.
If you're buying a RAM, avoid the 4.7. The 5.7 hemis have been pretty bulletproof for the most part.
@@joelstolarski2244 with the new tundras losing their V8 engines, the old ones are going to skyrocket in price.
Gas price will go higher. This could be a very dangerous time to buy big engine.
The ford f150 with the 2v 4.6 and 5.4 v8 to me were the only reliable ones the mid 2000s 3v v8s had the most issues not sure why
Plugs and cam phaser issues... plugs tend to snap off in the head on the 5.4 3v, while the 4.8 3v wasn't as problematic.
Ford head design they liked to spit spark plugs out the the cam phasers took the bottom end’s out. The bodies a😢suspension were ok but the motors are shit. Good looking truck though.

I own a chevy k1500 with a 5.7 v8. Bought for 2k had 294k miles and had an rebuilt engine with 30,000 miles on it. It's an awesome truck. Great for towing, easy to work on, I've had no problems out of it only an oil leak, but I maintain it and it keeps going.
I love my old Sivlerado. That TBI 350 (L05) sucks balls though. Worst flowing heads GM ever made on a SBC (actually the L03 I think holds that title)

Just don't buy the 2004 F150. Plus, it wasn't the only one that blew out spark plugs. The 4.6s also blew them. I've read up on a bunch. Aluminum head with poorly machined threads is a deal breaker.

I've actually got an 04 6.0 and OMG it used to be a nightmare! But bulletproof pretty much nailed the aftermarket support on them. I bought my truck for 10k put another 5k in parts and head studs into it and I've actually gone a little over 259k miles without a breakdown on it and I'm pushing the half a million mile mark!
*Edit* I went to the Ford dealership in town and they were selling an 02 F350 single rear wheel crew cab just like mine for $29,995 🤣 So I guess my trucks worth nearly double what I've got into it right now

Had a 2012 silverado v6 and it was total garbage. Had planned to LS swap it once the gutless v6 blew up but to my surprise the frame rusted away before the engine had time to fail. Got 120,000 miles out of that truck from new and parked it in a garage...even undercoated it. Junk.
My 2012 Ram 4th Gen gets parked outside, regularly gets driven hard over 9000KM from Ottawa to Vancouver and back (4500KM straight each way only stopping for gas) and has 300,000 on the odometer. Same undercoat with no rust issues...While it's on its 2nd transmission that was the previous owners problem to pay for.
Not sure why Rams get a reputation for being unreliable and Silverados are known for reliability. I'm normally a BMW guy so I have no brand loyalty in america and my patience for car issues is obviously high but that silverado was worse than even some of my flakiest clapped out bimmers.
So we're just going to skip the elephant in the room then huh? F-250&350 diesels? Granted I've got an 04 6.0 but with all the aftermarket support from bulletproof it'll last well into the 700k range

6.0 with mods yea maybe but the 6.4 is trash. Besides, they mentioned diesels weren't on the list because they are too expensive.
@@danielparks9035 you got that right! Those 6.4's are about the worst diesel ever made. I guess they have gotten pretty expensive lately. Used to be you could get an early '00's 2 or 350 for around 10k

Ford 5.4 3 valve is ass don’t even bother. Eco boosts are unreliable. 4.6 is bulletproof and so is the 5.0
the colorado and canyon are both awful trucks, the inline 5 is know for slurping oil til it blows
