    This is a great step forward, but we're still 5 years away from what a lot of people want or need. Recharge times of 7 to fourteen hours is too slow. I'm holding out for charging in two hours and being enough for two days and costing $200. USD.

    We bought a 1500 for our house. Then we bought a van! The 1500 will be the power for our van as we begin to use it, to see how we want to wire it. Just started the van build - this week patching holes (from contractor cabinets, bolts etc.) wire wheeling rust and painting. Can’t wait next week or so, to get it insulated and install flooring walls, ceiling.... I want to go where the sun shines! Not too bad in recent days but it will be so nice to be able to do that! We are just south of the border from you.

    I don't know... Instant Pot + fridge/ freezer + fans + heater + electric kettle, +.charge devices, etc.? I don't have the knowledge to perform the calculations at.this point. But the main problem I see is that it takes way too long to.charge via solar. If you.can't get the energy into it, then it won't be there for you to make use of. I'm nowhere near being ready for one of these products, but I hope this issue will be resolved in the future. This seems like a.step in the right direction.

    Hi Chrome, I checked out the Jackery website and I'm leaning towards the Explorer 240 model. I have a Coleman solar panel that I bought a few years ago that I can connect to this device eventually. Can I keep it hooked up to the solar panel so that I can keep a constant stream of power or would I need to go to deep cycle batteries for that? I'm not handy and I don't trust myself to do any complicated wiring. I figure I could just have a powerbar plugged into the AC outlet and have all my bigger devices plugged inside like the fridge, TV and so on. Would having it constantly hooked up to the solar panel kill the device?

    Forget the 12v cord. The best way to charge while driving is to use a 300w bestek pure sine inverter ($40) and the wall plug for the Jackery. 7 hrs instead of 14 hrs recharge time while driving. The bestek also has another 120v outlet and USB A ports you can use at the same time.

      If the Jackery is being powered by the inverter, then what is the inverter plugged into? Excuse my ignorance, but this all new to me.

    Hey Chrome, how are the smaller Jackery products you had before holding up? A long term review would be ... interesting.

    Can you charge the Jackary off a 12v to the Andersen plug? or is that for solar only?

    Random Question: Would I be able to plug in a power bar into the outlet so I could get maybe 2-4 more outlets??? For instance, if there are two laptops that need to be plugged in out on a picnic table or something, etc.

    • @BrandonPrive1432
      @BrandonPrive1432 Před 3 lety +1

      yes you can use power bars, if you plug to much obviously you'll. be sucking back the power, but depending what it is you should be good to go!

    Is there a way you can plug in multiple 12v appliances? A lot of 12v fridges use a cigarette lighter port and in the video you've used a cigarette lighter adapter for your lights. Can I plug in the lights and a fridge, using a different method?

    My question would be to compare with an equivalent Renogy system. Meaning if you took the 999 for the battery and the cost of the solar panel how much installed solar and power could I get. I know the Jackery is going to be an install so easy even Bob could do it which is a consideration.

    • @shawnbailey.parkie7585
      @shawnbailey.parkie7585 Před 4 lety

      You would get more out of the Renogy system, especially if you went AGM or SLA batteries.

    WOW! I live in a van too. This is giving me a new idea. I wanted to install 4 6volt batteries in my van. Now i think I will only install 2 6 volt batteries and this 1000 watt generator that is transportable. That's great for me. Do you think this could power an electric boat motor?
