      Most people are clueless, it's not about "what can it run", because with a 1000W peak you can run many things.. the real question should be "for how long can it run it?", and probably also another question "what replacement battery is available to purchase when the 500 cycles are through... if a replacement is possible at all".
      if you can run an electric water kettle, but after 3 uses your battery bank is dry. it's truly worthless

    I used the 240 for something completely different, and that was performing music for a charity function, where I was able to power 2 15 inch powered PA speakers,, a pedal board, acoustic electric and a microphone for a 3 hour performance. I tested it a few times before, so. I knew it would work.

    Edit 3 months later: WOW!!! Taking my 'new best friend' JACK to SUV camping, together with one 100w solar panel, which I ordered last month. What a pleasure! Since I never had it run down to 0%, it is quickly charged up if you do it daily. Good feeling also to have it at home, still playing around with it, for the case of future power-outs. One week after I received the Jackery1000, we had the first one... BINGO!!! No panic anymore.. Even the 1800w Sunbeam Induction Cook Top runs perfectly on 1/2 power, still providing 700w/medium heat (300°F). Connecting it with the LED under-cupboard-disc-lights makes the kitchen usable, they draw 6w together.
    July 2021: I just ordered the Jackery Explorer 1000 for SUV camping, BUT: I discovered that this thing is going to be a life-saver in case of a power out. Most appliances in my apartment do not draw too much energy, the 24" 5ft-high energy efficient fridge w. upper freezer department, the portable washer: 3.6 Amp! Bblender, small water kettle, toaster, 2 different size food processors, vacuum cleaner, little coffee maker, TV, stereo, window fans, 900w microwave..... I am not through with writing everything down that draws less and WAY LESS than 1000 watts. This is amazing, haven't thought about all that when ordering it. Sometimes we have - usually in winter - power-outs for several hours, sometimes for a whole day. I'm very excited now, also because there will be 'real' light with at least one big lamp with an LED lamp. Additional it will make my SUV camping trips a real pleasure. I did not get the solar panels, but the Jackery can load up energy while being connected to the 12V plug during the drive.

    I picked up a Jackery 1000 due to living near the gulf of Mexico(Hurricane alley). I use it for the Dometic and I plan on doing a duel battery setup in the future. During hurricane Ike(2008). We did not have power for nine days. The Jackery is going to be great for 12 volt fans, radios, electronics and other accessories. The initial price shock is a little difficult , considering I purchased the 1000 and two solar panels. But, I plan on using the two solar panels for the duel battery set up as well. Having redundancy when it comes to power needs, especially for natural disasters, is a must for us Texas Gulf Coasters. Cheers, blessings, health and four wheel low, Ya'll...

    • @RevereOverland
      @RevereOverland  Před 3 lety +2

      A agree with the price. It's at the price point where you could have a great dual battery setup, but the portability of this is a big bonus! I'm sure you going to find it very useful when you're in an area at risk of power outages!

    The Jackery 1000 Pro is a big step up from the Jackery 1000 in 2 very important ways - the time to charge it from 0 to 100% off a wall plug has been cut from 7 hours to a little under 2 hours, and the number of charges to 100% the unit is rated for has doubled from 500 to 1000. If you're camping out of your vehicle and moving around, the faster recharging time is huge. I don't use solar panels with my 1000 Pro, but I think it's about the same reduction in recharging time as off an AC plug.

    I bought a goal zero 500x for my wife’s Cpap. Very expensive. It lasted one night and used my Honda generator to recharge for the next night. Because NYS campgrounds limits time for generator use 7 hours I barely was able to recharge the goal zero. I should have bought the Jackery 1000. It would have given me two nights easily especially if I recharged it next day and gotten me 750 watts for a partial charge. Certainly plenty for a second night for her cpap.

    I have at times used the Jackery 500 as a UPS for my computer at home. When power went out, I was able to stay online with no interruptions.

    You should do a comparison of product with generark bundle for homes. Because they're product and jackery product 1000watt is similar but the price is not..

    I am considering getting the 1000w Jackery to run my heater in my cabin when the power goes out. I want something portable so I can use it in my car, van, and vintage travel trailer. I need something that can be moved around and not just be stationary.

      The portable power is great, but it would really depend what type of heater. This won’t run an electric space heater for very long.

      @@RevereOverland I live in Rural Alaska. I have a Toyo Oil Miser Heater, it heats with heating oil. I mainly need the power to run the fan, the electric ignition, and allow the temperature gauges to work. I looked it up and the most power it uses is 275 watts for preheating. I also need the power to run a hanging lamp that has a LED Light bulb in it- my cabin is very small. Right now I use a Honda Generator but in order to get the power to the heater, I have to run an exension cord through the kitchen window which ends up letting most of the heat out with the window cracked open. It is also difficult to get the generator setup and started in the dark, which normally happens at night or very early morning. The cabin is not yet finished and is very rustic. I have been looking at other methods for powering the heater when the power goes out. The Jackery or something similar would be very versatile and can be used when travelling.

      you should check for your use case the capacity rather than the wattage of the power bank... the Jackery 1000 has a 44AH battery, which is ok but won't be able to power a furnace for too long before the battery is at 20%

      @@RevereOverland that’s what I was sad about after watching this video, is that it can’t really power a space heater, even a small one for that. I really want to power a space heater for when I go winter camping because I don’t want to use a propane buddy heater.

    Hi thanks fir doing a good test on the jackery, i still have one issue. Im looking at swapping my petrol generator for one to charge 1/10 scale batteries. I race at weekends and need to charge 10 4200mah lipo batteries. Would i needthe 1000 or would a smaller one be ok ? Hope you see this and can help me out 👍

    It would seem that heating devices like even kettles - best avoided. I had no idea that a kettle takes 1800 watts that is nuts. Small desk heaters are 1200! They are tiny. Really surprised with the fridge, they take very little. I am buying one of these very soon and cant wait to camp out with it....might bring out my tv and PlayStation lmao

    I have a new Jackery 1500 with 2 200W solar panels - I live in Phoenix, and it is only 95 degrees to day, but the VERY BEST prformance we can get is only 130W per panel. The longer the panels are in the sun the more wattage power they lose. And this is not a faulty panel - when I had the same abysmal result on my first shipment I worked with Jackery and got a replacement unit. But this second unit is performing just like the first. NO ONE is testing these units in warm weather - which come on, is the whole point of using a solar panel, sunshine. It is clear to me, Jackery cannot perform to spec in temperatures as low as 95 degree which is low here in Phoenix. The whole reason I bought this unit was to have a backup if and when power grids fail in hot summer temperatures. But if these can't perform in hot weather, truly what is the point?

      It is ironic that a solar panel becomes less efficient the warmer it gets.😎

    • @kms7546
      @kms7546 Před 8 měsíci

      It is crazy, and there is very little information or discussion on the topic. In a world that is heating up, and breaking every heat record in recorded history, it seems ridiculous that solar panels won’t work as described.
