    Amps are pulled, volts are forced.
    The charge controller will only pull as many amps as are available without causing voltage sag, or whatever it’s max rating is. You can’t ‘overamp’ the MPPT. Stay within the voltage range and you’ll be fine.

    • @skepticalmechanic
      @skepticalmechanic Před měsícem +1

      Amps are not pull.. Amps are the amount of flow like gallons per minute… Voltage is pressure… please don’t give incorrect information.

      @@skepticalmechanic Everything @matthewtaylor3301 said is correct. You just looking for something to nitpick about. Your pushing the point, his easy to understand explanation is not 100% correct. Next you will point out spelling and grammar mistakes I assume.

    Excellent guide. I recommend to do this annually, not only for the new tech, but it's actually more attractive for people to check out if the information is recent. From my own experience looking at other types of hardware, the last thing anyone wants to do is to learn something that's a decade out of date.

    Thanks for spending the time sorting out the MC4 connectors. I'm in the process of building a dolly mounted emergency power bank with a 3000 watt, all in one inverter/charger and I've been hung up on how to connect the MC4s to the unit. I'm making my own cables, and I noticed all the discrepancies with the color codes and markings and by including a circuit breaker as well, it got complicated enough that I had to back off until a day when the ol' noggin was firing on more cylinders. I even saw videos that suggest that the proper way to refer to the gender of the connectors is by using the pins inside the plastic parts, which of course are the opposites of the plastic parts, a hollow socket inside the part with the rubber o-ring, making it female, and a solid rod inside the other connector, making it the male! And Wonka !

    • @ReeWrayOutdoors
      @ReeWrayOutdoors  Před 10 měsíci +2

      Ha! Yeah I actually originally had a segment in that clip talking about the opposite gender of the internal pins...but I ended up cutting it because I thought it would just confuse people more, unnecessarily.
