Wow. You take us through this gripping story step by step. Best podcast ever heard
What an amazing product you out together casefile. Listened the 5 hours fully emersed. Thankyou
I read Michelle MacNamara's book "I'll Be Gone In The Dark." So I did not think your podcast would tell me anything about the East Area Rapist that I did not already know. Boy was I wrong. MacNamara totally censored her book in regards to all the obscene phone calls the East Area Rapist made to victims. She left out or glossed over all of the bad language in her book. Thanks for not pulling any punches. Cheers Mate.
---If you want a more detailed book, Larry Crompton’s book ‘Sudden Terror’ is excellent. He was one of the police detectives on the case & stayed involved even after retiring. It’s gorier, so be prepared.
Ya she was a druggie idiot who did nothing
"I'll be Gone in the Dark" introduced me to this story. The book was thorough and engaging, but with all due respect, Casefile takes it to another level. Exceptional series!
Most compelling podcast I’ve ever heard. Well done
It’s good to take you into the mind of a stalker, it makes you more aware of your surroundings
Yes definitely. After listening to this, I am certainly checking things a bit more carefully!
For sure. My husband & I just bought a new house. I was on the fence about paying for an alarm bc it's a safe, gated community. After obsessing about this for weeks, we got the fanciest alarm system & a bunch of cameras.
The other day, I wrote down a license plate number of a suspicious man. Let's hope I never have to turn it over to police though.
@@You.Tube.Sucks. you should always call the police when you see something suspicious. Let them check it. Give them the license plates to. Remember a lot of people saw JJD but said nothing.
By far the most thorough telling of the earons saga, thanks for uploading
This isn't a saga this is real life !!!! Not some made up story
When he says East Area Rapist take a drink...
I would have passed out after part 1
Can you please add captions for this video as well? For us Deaf/hard of hearing viewers. Love your channel. This series in particular is so well done!
A very well described case. Thanks.
Bro the golden state killer story is incredible. From every little detail to the chilling first night when he shot the 2 kids
Not that I'm sticking up for the guy, but he never shot two kids.... unless you are referring to Brian & Katie Maggiore who were young adults.
@@You.Tube.Sucks. that's probably what they meant
@@TaurusWitch29 Hmm.. you may be right. Sadly, the Maggiores were not his first murders (and were not kids), so I hadn't even considered that he was referring to them; however, your interpretation may be correct. Thank you :)
@@You.Tube.Sucks. 🖤🖤🖤🖤🌙
@@You.Tube.Sucks. yeah them
Thank you ❤
13yo : I don't care . Savage
very well done!
"I hate you Bonnie" 😮😮 pretty relevant now
I would recommend the LA Times podcast "The Man in The Window", it's not as good as Casefile's treatment, but the interviews and stories with Bonnie are really revealing and hint at what was to come. There are also some new photos on the website.
@@DavidCurryFilms yeah I saw the photos I'll check out the podcast when I am done with this one
Is this guy a hero or a menace? You decide
@@phuckewe5876 What guy? are you for real? LOL
@@Quiintus7 no I'm make believe, like the bogeyman or some kind of super villan with a 10ft strap on and no lube.
When the attack number 1,748,163,08,192,172 occured,...
Ha, yeah, the number of crimes he committed is staggering.
What did the police record the phone call onto? The original Edison't wax cylinder phonograph? It was 1977 and the tape recorder was invented in 1909. In my experience, police audio recordings always have a horrible quality, often to the point of incomprehensibility.
Has the letter at around 31:00 been released now that they've caught de Angelo?
Im so frustrated at this point of the podcast. How is he getting their numbers...
Good ole phone book
Yep I live here in Mich an where I live they still mail them out
I didn't see any tattoos on him in court recently..
27:12 that’s terrifying omg
Did this person inspire Richard Ramirez or was it the AC/DC song "Nightprowler"?
Who knows. This was the original nightstalker cus of the break ins and prowling.
No it's about Richard ramirez and someone else similar to him in Australia where there from
Id love to know if the east side rapist had any beef with the west side story rapist. Their names say: competion, but also love for the game. :O
That's not funny at all these are peoples lives that got fucked right up
@@aquatarot4694 I think its funny if you distance yourself from the actual horror that went on.
@@ilewtf2234 horror yes funny no .... So sad people think it's okay to make jokes like this ... What if it was your mother or sister or even you that was rape would you think it's okay to make jokes then ??
It's a joke.
1:06:00
So dumb. Could have broadcast the phone call and it was so distinct someone would have recognized JJD's voice.
---That composite drawing looked just like D’Angelo when he was a cop--no one teased him about his ‘lil Willie’??? I know he supposedly ‘was so serious that he had no friends’, but would that stop hazing from fellow cops?? Weird.
Scare my mommy more like it scares my bonnie
Product reviewer uk who is Bonnie and why do ppl keep commenting about it😂
@@evankanemusic It's a joke because the east area rapist was engaged to a girl named Bonnie who broke his heart. He yelled "I hate you Bonnie" during one of the attacks. Although he was already married to a different woman at this point (and raping dozens), it appeared he hadn't gotten over Bonnie. He tried to force her to marry him, at gunpoint. Bonnie's father talked DeAngelo down, and the family never had contact with him again (until Bonnie stood up in court in 2020, like a badass, with Jane Carson-Sandler).
@@evankanemusic you must know by now

Awesome podcast; too bad it’s gotten a bit SJW lately.
Sjw ?? What do you mean ?
@@aquatarot4694 social justice warrior. But I don't know why they say that 🤷 that's usually a conservative that complains about SJW's who most likely are liberals.
In what way is it "SJW"? Explain yourself
