- Hi friends! So today I wanted to just sit down and rant a little bit on some of the things that are happening with Tana Mongeau the past couple of months post tanacon. This video is definitely a lot more ranty than I intended it to be but I am glad I was able to just get ready with you guys and talk about everything! Say what y'all want about JoJo Siwa but that little girl has HUSTLED and she is working her ass off. Tana could learn something from her. JoJo will be around long after her channel is gone. Tana will have nothing but drugs and bad memories if her channel dies.
A friend of mine worked with her last year (Macy's Parade) and said she (jo Jo) is incredibly professional and great to work with. Also Jo Jo has parents who lookout for her and keep her grounded and safe. "Professional and grounded" are not words to describe Tana
Sarah M I’m not a fan of JoJo in the slightest but I’ve been watching her since Dance Moms and she is very talented and always has been. She actually DOES something in order for her to be in the limelight. No offense to Tana but she’s a walking cautionary tale of what happens when people aren’t held accountable for their inappropriate actions and poor decision making. I’m around the same age as Tana and I can’t imagine making nearly as many mistakes as she had.
Agreed. I only barely know who she is (never watched her videos, but I know she's a teenager who is big on the internet), but I'm happy to let her do her thing because, as far as I can tell, her videos are generally pretty harmless. I'd rather kids watch her than either of the Paul brothers, frankly.

what pisses me off about the Mac Miller situation is that she continues to glorify drug use in her videos when he died from a DRUG OVERDOSE. if she really loved him like she says she does, she would stop pushing drug use in her videos to her younger audience.

Shane’s videos are entertaining but I think people need to realize he isn’t Oprah, his documentary content is very amateur in the grand scheme of things (biased interviewer, subject matter, etc) and as far as I can tell, Shane is quite immature when it comes to any type of criticism, be it constructive or just calling him out when he’s wrong. I sometimes think people give him too much credit, because at the end of the day, he’s a human being and he is clearly very loyal to his friends (who are also the subjects of his *documentaries*). I dunno if I just talked in circles or what, but him retweeting that photo and the fact he was stubborn about taking it down comes as no shock to me whatsoever.
honestly shane needs to grow up and stop defending tana. james charles whos younger than both of them is the only one who tried to be an adult after tana con and actually said he'd stop supporting her 😖

Honestly, I love Shane and he really does have a great heart. He actually cares about those who look up to him and he knows about stuff like backlash. I feel like because he's an empath, he cares too much about people and then it ends up looking like he's giving them a pass.
Shane consistently defends, supports, and performs elaborate PR spins for racists and other problematic white people. Like seeks like.

Tana Mongeau definitely needs to be held accountable for all of the crap she does. Yes she's young, but in my humble opinion, that doesn't mean she shouldn't be held accountable. Thank you for talking about topics that REALLY need to be talked about. I love your channel.

I’ve never understood why people like her. She has serious issues & it’s like watching a car wreck. I know that’s harsh but she shouldn’t be on the internet. She should be trying to figure out why she’s so problematic & working on changing. I don’t get why people flock to and support people that are so toxic to the point that they make a shit ton of money and get to act out in whatever way they choose. If people would stop she wouldn’t get the attention she gets.
Jade Hansen Same reason people like Logan Paul apparently. People like drama and excitement and shade as long as it’s on a screen they can watch or an article they can read so that there’s enjoyment but also a sense of disconnect. but once that drama works it’s way into THEIR lives personally suddenly it’s “I hate drama, I’m so tired of all the drama” and they are throwing their hands up crying foul. I’ve never personally understood why people who wouldn’t want drama in their own lives would encourage and watch drama (even when it’s faked) in someone else’s life.

I thought she was so funny with her stories and I felt bad for her during her stalker stories, but after seeing her exaggerations to the point of lies when saying what happened with him made all of her stories seem like total bullshit. Like I didnt care before about some embellishing for entertainment, but it switched for me after that into straight bullshit

I love Shane and it pisses me off when he defends her. Ok passes given- all of the people interviewed by Shane Dawson. I mean, I feel for him and enjoy his docuseries, BUT he's not Oprah. And either do your due diligence and realize that if you start in a neutral place and go where the subject leads you, you might have to go after the hard hitting questions and know not everyone will like you.
You are who you surround yourself with. He surrounds himself with people like Grav3yardgirl (look up her Starbucks fiasco... she's a bad person), Tana, Jeffree, and now Jake Paul.

Oh I agree so much about the influence that these uh, influencers have. For example, I don't watch Simplynailogical often, but I really appreciate that she promotes education. She did a giveaway a while back where she paid the winner's college tuition for a semester. I think it would be so easy for Tana to just be a better influence. She has the audience already and I'm sure they would still watch if she dropped the public drug use and encouraged kids to keep going with education and stuff like that.
Hannah, do you know how much I respect you for bringing this subject to the forefront? I'm honestly impressed with the thought you always put into your "rant" videos dear heart.
I could seriously sit with you and rant about her all day long. We all do have our reckless stages, but then we grow and grow out of it.. Usually. It does suck that someone who really isn't doing much good for this world earns so much money and has a level of influence.
Children being sexualized is already a big concern and fear for parents so that just really pisses me off. I’m already paranoid about my daughter’s safety. Don’t make it okay for people to look at children that way. I can’t even express how angry that makes me. I think about how that girls mom must have felt seeing that sexualized version of her 15 year old and I really feel for her and that girl.

I'm glad SOMEONE is talking about this, she gets off way too easy, I was disappointed in Shane Dawson, I've been a fan of him for as long as he's been on youtube but I lost a lot of respect for him when he started excusing Tana's actions. I never cared for her, but it's sad that people think her behavior is excusable, even worse because her demographic is probably mostly minors. Good on you for not being a sheep and speaking out about it.
I’m not a fan of her but yet again I’m not her audience (I’m 32) I do find her immature and catty. But she’s so young. She’s not a great role model or someone young girls should be looking up too. She’s seems to cause more problems then anything good..

The discussion of "just my opinion opinion," or having a right to an uncontested opinion is something that makes me so disappointed in people. How simple minded is that - "it's just my opinion, so even it's based on wildly inaccurate information and warped logic, and no one else has a right to trample my freedom of speech by questioning me." When did this idea become so prevalent? It's just sad and astonishing that people can't grasp what freedom of speech really entails, or as you stated, opinions based on bullshit need to be called out as such. We live in an age of alternative facts, complete disregard for the fact that there is a single truth (different perspectives but one set of concrete events)and gut feelings (and therefore implicit bias) being the only input used to form opinions. It just makes me so sad, because it is at best difficult, at worst impossible to have any real communication with someone taking the standpoint of their opinion being a sacred thing that must not be questioned.
And you're not going off on a tangent, because that is exactly what Tana does. If she doesn't see the value in something, why not use her platform to trash it, even in the case of something like education, where you're potentially talking these young people out of keeping options that they will most likely wish they had at some point down the road. Or talking about drugs the way she does - I'm glad she feels that's working for her at the moment, but how fucking dangerous is it to present it this way to massive groups of minors, when we all see the horrifying destructive effects of these substances on many people.
She can say, "oh well it worked out fine for me" to justify her actions, but that is an opinion based on nonsense, because we all know everyone in this world is walking a different path with different circumstances, and she has absolutely no business assuming that this shit will work out for everyone. Honestly, how well is her lifestyle working out for her? She's rich, she's famous, but how many absolute trainwrecks do we see involving famous, wealthy, celebrities? I don't even think that she's dumb, I just think she's incredibly dishonest, even to herself.

I don’t follow Tana so I only hear about what she’s up to through you. I think that this idea of Tana being given a pass whenever she does something wrong also applies to anyone Shane has done a documentary/docu-series on. I feel like a lot of them get passes after they’ve been on his channel.

I was once told that a person's intentions don't really matter but what does matter is how their actions affect others, so even though she doesn't mean harm she is causing harm and that's what the issue is.

Tana feeds off of her audience's "love" because she's so insecure, needy, and narcissistic. Something is seriously lacking in her life, so she fills it with the feeling a bunch of little girls chanting her name gives her. People need to stop with the "she's young" excuse because I'm 22 and if I drove a car under the influence and posted it online, or scammed a bunch of people out of serious funds at an event, I would be held accountable. She should not be let off just because of her age or her low maturity level or her CZcams fame. It is HER responsibility to be a responsible adult and be accountable for her actions. Society should not have to pick up her slack.
And Shane Dawson, as much as I love his content, should be ashamed of himself for telling a bunch of ripped off people he was going to get to the bottom of things and make things right only to just provide them with multiple videos of Tana snotting and moaning all over a couch about how nobody loves her anymore like only a narcissist would. And what did Shane do? He didn't press her. He didn't figure out "the truth" or figure out a way to establish refunds. He just sat there and coddled her. SHE'S AN ADULT, SHANE. It drives me insane how everyone babies this fake blonde waste of space. She's harmful to kids and society. She's also a pathological liar who ALSO uploaded a video of an uncensored dead body before Logan Paul did because she's one of the most heartless and ignorant brats on CZcams. I completely agree with you. I also think that as an adult and a creator with such a big platform she should take into account how young her audience is before she promotes the use of drugs. As you said, she is given a pass on things she does that are wrong and I personally think that it has gotten to a point where when she is called out on things that she does that are wrong, it is ignored because she knows people are going to give some excuse. It sends a bad message about what it means to be an adult and I think that the impression that is given by some of her actions is that there are no consequences if you do something wrong.
You are correct in that we need to call out people who have dangerous opinions.

I am so with you on this I've been seeing drug use talked about in videos even as brand logos advertising that it's the cool thing to do and that's what you're supposed to do and( it's just not) it really rubs me the wrong way as well I left you a comment on that a while back that I don't like it at all...... I am a recovering addict , I know what drugs can do to you , I know drugs bury you.... I've seen it first-hand many many times and trying to raise my children to be aware of drugs and pure pressure and letting them know it's not okay and that its actually cool and okay to say no and dismiss or now a days block those people from your life to protect yourself ...... who knew I would be trying to protect them and warn them about brands sending them the wrong message and influencers they look up to.... are you kidding me there's only so many Parental Guidance buttons out there on there phones , tablets or game systems ect...... just when you think you got one part of it covered Here Comes something else you never even would have thought of it's crazy........ I don't watch or follow Tana Mojo but I did just watch JoJo with my daughter who is 8 years old last night and I cannot even imagine Tana posting something like that and tagging Jo Jo in it that's insane I'm with you I see Disney channel with her to 💜💛💙💖

I’ve been watching tana since her very first video. I’m 34 now. I remember that the decisions I made between 18 and like 22 were not the best. Like you I should’ve died or been in jail. Tana as she grows will hopefully mature and see her mistakes. Bc I think she has potential

We live in a society where people in the media have to act crazy, ridiculous and offensive all the time to keep the attention on them (thus, making money). Maybe we should stop promoting (bad promotion is always good promotion at this point) or even talking about these people (and the people that will excuse their behavior *cough* Shane Dawson giving a platform to racists *cough* )... I don't know...what do you think about that? I mean I agree that the community has to hold accountable problematic CZcamsrs but why so many problematic CZcamsrs are still so successful? I will allow second chances with good apologies but why do we keep accepting the people that fuck up constantly (like Tana) ?

i used to really like tana but i feel like she thinks shes untouchable because she has gotten away with so many things. i unsubscribed from her a while ago.
