I talk about Jeffree star and the racism allegations and about James Charles's entitlement. I have missed filming so much and I am so happy to be back! Sister was still figuring his sexuality out when Marlena took off the beauty world by her famous MAC eyeshadow dupes, everybody on CZcams had her eyeshadows. James probably didn’t even know what eyeshadows are back then and now he’s just being disrespectful like he’s the pioneer. I gotta be honest, I had some similar documentary ideas about the beauty community as well, and I’m sure a lot of others do, but Netflix REACHED out TO MARLENA, they didn’t reach out to James it means they don’t recognize him or thinks he’s too dramatic, they probably reached out to Shane as well but Shane denied, James is acting as if he’s so unique special and talented. BS, can’t even do a proper eyebrow.

James screams so much about being business savvy but publicly explodes online about everything! Literally so unprofessional and if I did that at my job I’m sure I’d be fired.
You would be. I used to work in nursing. You can get assaulted by a patient and if you try to protect yourself you can get fired. Yeah....I wish I could scream online all day and make half what they make.

Ughhh what gets me about the James Charles situation is that he assumes that Marlena is out spilling tea on the beauty community how much people are getting paid in this documentary 🙄 like it could be as simple as building a brand from being an influencer
I'm just so tired of James and other "top beauty gurus" thinking that they alone are the beauty community. Give me a break. I don't watch any of the "big gurus" that I guess would come to mind when a random hears the term. From my perspective the beauty community isn't crumbling. The thing that's crumbling is the "boujie, fake woke, I'm so relatable" facade these "big youtubers" try to put on.

They are not even the ‘big gurus’. There are a surprising number of people doing makeup/beauty videos with the same amount of followers but they are just not part of the drama, not going to Bora Bora with Tarte and not doing videos with other CZcamsrs to grow
Myisha Bradham I’m just tired of boys wearing makeup with drama channels pretending to be beauty channels. If you are a company owner like Jeffrey then sell your brand like he does. But if you are selling products for another company through sponsorship than disclose you are getting paid. We are also consumers who watched product suggestions along with tutorials. No one wants to be fooled into buying crappy products because influencers are not being transparent.

Also what you said about James is so true he can’t take any form of constructive criticism or any form of criticism without lashing out on social media. Like watching his collab videos he easily calls out like other gurus for their mistakes or behavior but once the tables turn he becomes so defensive and the fact that he thinks Netflix stole the idea is ridiculous it takes months to a year to produce a documentary when he literally told everyone about his documentary a week or two ago there’s no way that could have been stolen and the way Marlena handled the situation it kind of just shows that there are so few influencers and members of the beauty community who behave like actual adults
Everyone is somewhat biased, we all have our own personal perception of the world, that’s psychology 101 🙄 James is beyond disrespectful and I’m disgusted by all the influencers who were agreeing with him bashing Marlena on twitter

I'm not usually active on Twitter but this James vs Marlena drama got me going a little. James is acting like an entitled spoiled brat. He is disrespectful and rude. I'm sorry but that's just not acceptable no matter who you are. I like how you pointed out that Marlena might have a 2 minute cameo in a Netflix doc. One tweet I put out was how does anyone know when someone at Netflix decided to do this type of doc? How long has it been in the works? Yes Marlena said they approached her weeks ago but I'm pretty sure it's been a lot longer than that since the concept was made. Second, I don't think a Netflix employee has been spying on James or watching CZcams channels trying to get the next big idea and get it going before some influencer could. And finally ... James is showing his age and immaturity in that he is tweeting repeatedly to Netflix and bashing Marlena. Maybe I'm too old to know this but if you want to approach a company don't you do it in writing like an email or letter?? And at least in my mind if someone wanted to work with my company and I see them disrespecting someone so much, I would think twice about putting their name on anything with mine.

When you where raised by racist people and a racist environment is hard to stop it. If he really wants to stop it, he needs professional guidance. And to this date, I doubt he will change. From the totally overrated singing to the entitlement to the Baby Jaclyn Morphe-pushing to the kissing Kylie's ass to the bitterness about not being fawned over by Fenty Beauty to the ebola tweets to the nonstop childish competitiveness with others, James has revealed himself to be quite the petulant little diva. When James put on that prosthetic makeup and was shocked to discover that people were mean to people not considered conventionally beautiful but never took the time to really address discrimination, I knew he was fake woke. I'm hoping Queen Antonio isn't fazed by James stealing his editing style and continues thriving and eventually snatches his wig right the heck off. Time for new blood in the beauty community.

Omg so I actually just unsubscribed to James, because he had Nikita on his channel today. He pinned a comment that said something about an apology being accepted from them and to move on.... um no. Nikita never apologized to children that were victim/survivors of rape. I was a victim of rape, and a kidnapping, had to say that to clarify it was not my parents that abused me, and she did not apologize for her tweets in any way that I can ever forgive her. You know. I think the reason I have such a hard.time liking James is because... we are the same age. But have completely different maturity levels. I am not knocking down his success but damn. He was 9 years old when makeupgeek was created( or Marlena influencer wise) was started. Given by how much inconsistencies there are and by how easy the texts can be manipulated im not inclined to believe the texts are real. I can't just damn someone for something that i'm not sure of. But i can understand why someone wouldnt want to support him.
And I think James is missing a big point in the whole “watch a whole bunch of reviews if you were tricked it’s cause you were a lazy consumer” bs. You know that brands make campaigns and multiple beauty gurus make videos for them, so if I watch a bunch of reviews and all of them say positive things cause they were sponsored and I don’t know that, it’s literally negates the whole “watch lots of reviews”

Either James is lying about never receiving $60,000 for a paid sponsorship or he’s getting scammed, he has 8.5 million subscribers and if only 1% of people buy the product he’s promoting and he gets $1 per sale, that’s $85,000 🐸☕️

Honestly, I have times where I like Jeffree and I have times where I think his terrible and insane... but that shit about Laura Lee hiring that stylist was such a stretch I bet he pulled every damn muscle in both his arms. I could see them being real, I could see them being fake. I dont really care, they are all shady when it comes down to it. I view the big "gurus" like I do politicians, I don't want any part of it.

In regards to the texts, I don't believe them cause of how sanders asked him to go through and show him the receipts on video chat and show step by step getting to those texts. Also, I don't think someone who at that point was screwed over by so many close friends by that point, would send those kinds of texts to someone where they will follow him forever. He might be outspoken and says things before he thinks about it, but he wouldn't say something like that where it will ruin his career.
In regards to james, this is the person who got famous from editing his photo so it was fake. This is the person who sang in a video and got so butt hurt to go on on a snap chat rant to let us all know he didn't sing a wrong note because he edited his voice to be perfect. This person has proven he can't do makeup makeup as God as he can edit photos and can't sing. I can sing rings around him and I don't need to edit my voice. James is average trying to be more then, and it just isn't a thing. You're a basic human being like the rest of us, deal with it.
Vincent Esposito in order to do that he will be sharing Jeffreys phone numbers . it's live so I don't know how he will block the number from showing. plus Sanders is asking to see the numbers. regardless of Sanders saying he has a connection with Jeffrey it could be different numbers that Celebrities reveal to different people. many of them have different lines to connect for privacy reasons. there could be legal problems here. Sanders should know this.

I can imagine Jeffree saying these things BUT I can’t imagine him being stupid enough to say those things after making his apology video. Regardless of whether or not Jeffree thinks these things, I just think he is too smart to say these things to people in writing, knowing that people are shady and fake. I agree with everything said in this video I'm in the middle leaning towards thinking the text are real because if david wanted to create doctored text, he could have made it look like what Jeffrey said In those conversations alot worse to completely fit his narrative. But realistically it does seem like things Jeffrey would say because he has a recent history of such (not just 10 yrs ago) and the time line of the dates fits in with what ever was going on at the time. it's like they could definitely be real but it doesn't help that David obviously has his own personal motives

I have followed Jeffree since the MySpace days, I think he does a lot in the public eye to save face. But no one really knows who he really is. I never really thought of myself as a fan. Just kinda in the middle. I can see the texts as real, but the Scissorhand guy is really shady for the way he brought these texts to light.
James Charles is just being petty. He’s jealous so he is discrediting her. Just like you said.

I’ve never liked Jeffree Star. I can’t believe the entitlement of James Charles.
I’ve had to step back from CZcams because all this drama is affecting my personal life and causing my mental health to go to crap. I really appreciate your update on it so I don’t have to watch everyone’s side.
I've been sick the last few days too. I can't seem to get past it. I also had a fresh breakout yesterday because why not. I'm right there with you on the misery.

I believe Jeffree could have said those things but I also think the situation is incredibly sketchy. I'll withhold too much judgement until the whole story unfolds. I don't understand the James Charles situation entirely but his tweets come across as condescending and arrogant.
The thing about the Jeffree situation that pisses me off is that he told Shane that the only time he used the N word was towards a white girl and he never used the word again. But (suppose the text are 100% real) it is obvious that he lied and came off a bit innocent. I was actually starting to like him and trust him (even purchased something from him) and now I feel disappointed and let down. And as far as the James situation goes, you practically said everything I was thinking. I lost a lot of respect for him, and that’s disappointing too.

Smokey Glow to be honest every if Jeffree is trying to change... he’s still got the fly off the handle aspect to him. In the wake of Laura coming back with that video and this happening I think he had kept it in and when someone asked he said something nasty because he was upset over everything. I don’t think that is right and I don’t think it has anything to do with Laura. I just sympathize with the fact that all these people live there lives under such scrutiny and knee jerk reactions often are used to characterize who they are as a person.
That's a totally fair opinion to have and that would make sense. I actually agree with you about the scrutinty thing too. That's why I try to only talk about bigger things. I couldn't imagine every tweet and snap being analyzed like that.
I have always had hot/cold (cold now) emotions about Jeffree; James Charles is an entitled little kid who thinks he’s experienced the “struggle.”

Mmm your drama videos are basically a soap opera recap to me and I love it! It is fascinating to see these players do things that aren't always great. Of course I feel bad for them when they mess up, but I really appreciate all the publicity and awareness they bring to issues that actually matter, like racism and scams and taking advantage of people.

At the time I was deciding I had Laura Lee's tweets in mind so in comparison maybe I felt jeffree wasnt as bad? Yet I totally see how all this can be true! Idk I'm not supporting him through views or buying makeup right now.

Girl, I'm kinda old at 41 but one good thing about it is that my skin is pretty break out free all the time no matter what since my thirties, but when I was in my twenties my skin went to shit as soon as I was sick too. And when you are fevery and sweaty and not feeling like taking care of it, it makes it even worse. You don't look too rough from my view. I always try to remind younger to not totally dismay about their skin, it will most likely get much better, mine went from very acne prone to pretty damn nice imo. 😘

But that might have to do with who my favorite artists are 😂😂 But yeah, you’re young and I’m very jealous because you got to live through the 80s and 90s which are my favorite decades in term of everything!!! I really don’t care for any large influencers. I do think Christen Dominique is a nice lady, but other than that I think most of them are super boring to watch, they do boring looks and are entitled. Unless I really dislike them, I’ll watch some of them on occasion for the entertainment. I think Jaclyn Hill gives good makeup technique tips. I’m open to buying their makeup if it’s good and unique to my collection, but I’m not jumping up and down to purchase through affiliate links, their makeup if it’s not unique or watch all of their videos. I tried giving James a chance but had to unsubscribe after 2 weeks because he was coming off like he was better than other people his age because he’s already successful and wealthy. I don’t like how he put small influencers down and what he says didn’t make any sense to me. If I was a small influencer and had a channel, I would definitely unsubscribe. People think these influencers are so sweet, but they don’t see the shit they say and do on Twitter and Snapchat.
